  • After eight months of war, prisoners have accumulated on both sides of the border. But a detention centre in west Ukraine is filling with Russian detainees, some of whom are seriously injured. And Kyiv is keen to demonstrate its respect for human rights by treating them with dignity. Vedika Bahl and our colleagues at France2 have this report from the prison.

This is incredibly important. The care and attention with which the Ukrainians treat their POWs may have extremely far reaching consequences in the months to come. Treat your enemies with better respect than their own leaders and they may one day take up your cause...

      Indeed,
      Romans 12 (KJV)
      ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
¹⁸ If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
¹⁹ Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
²⁰ Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.

U do realise that this could well be a propaganda show? I mean I ve seen the Russian giving emergency aid to ukranian POW s and getting them to live on 5 star hotels, does that mean the Russians treat ukranian POW s well, probably not same applies for the ukranians this video makes it seem as if Russian POW s are being treated well yet its likely all for the cameras you would take this video with a massive grain of salt if you have seen telegram videos of what some ukranian soldiers have done to Russian POW s and no its a lot worse than c"strating them like that one Russian soldier had done

One such video was published where Ukrainian private (or militia) got beat up and robbed by local pro-russian gang, which was caught on surveillance video. Minutes later, Ukrainian police with Special forces, or UKR counter-terrorism unit, arrested gang with prejudice and softened up perpetrators and that too was published later, after which all vatņik hell broke lose about how Ukrainian police is randomly arresting poor russian supporters, "they did nothing wrong" etc.

The Ukrainian authorities appear to be treating their Russian captives as per the Geneva convention ad I would say they are much better off staying as POW's until the end of the war. But is Russia doing the same. I very much doubt it as we do not see any footage coming out of Russia.

I sincerely hope this is a true reflection of life for Russian POW's. I'm sure and I hope the Ukrainian's realise many of the public who support them now would not be too pleased to learn they were not taking care of those men who are now non-combatants. They would lose a lot of respect.
How has it come to this... European men, once again being set against each other. Heart breaking.

Comforting to see that POW are being treated this kind way of humanity. It looks here, just like an ordinary dining room, in military base, at Peaceful Times...
I always feel sorry 😞 for soldiers, no matter which country, who are POW.
Here one can see, that people who are serving them food, look really kind. Unlike what in WW2 films, when captives were treated, in cruelty and humiliation, and the little food they were given, was more like, to let them starve.
