That's true, back then they didn't do well on their research and not only that but there's an ongoing argument (I can vouch for this because this is something I've taken into consideration as I as one of them too) that the original battle from way back when had Cloud who was limited to "mostly" his Dissidia 012 limitations in a sense while Link apparently is ALL the incarnations into one: The unbreakable Hylian Shield The Clawshot The Skyward Strike The Golden Gauntlets Not to mention for some reason he shouldn't L-Target when he's in midair spiraling out of control. Now with BotW Link he has more capabilities but the main thing is they "might" do the same mistake again by putting all Links into one body instead of choosing 1 versus Cloud

Unless you're referring to CDI Link and Cartoon Link being combined with Game Link, there is no such thing as a "composite Link". While each incarnation of the Hero may have differing personalities, they all contain the same spirit of the Hero within them. So all the Links while different in body are the one and the same in spirit.
To be fair, I kind of have mixed feelings about the fight. I understand that Star dwarfs Steven in power output with her magic, but I feel they downplayed Steven’s slow time speed and his defenses. They did not downplay Steven at all they capped his speed at ftl and capped him at star level and the reason why Steven couldn’t just use a bubble to crush star is due to the fact that star is so overwhelmingly stronger than Steven that she’d just bust out of it or use one of her many spells or dimensional scissors to break out of it

Star had the opportunity to train but basically spent the first two seasons goofing off and mostly ignoring her spell book until she lost it. She's had three fights that could be described as boss battles but the only one she actually managed to win was the one against Toffee. Her battles with Meteora and one of Mina's footsoldier both end with Eclipsa sort of bailing her out if I'm remembering correctly. Granted she had a lot more training with her ultimate form since she got hers early in season 3 while Steven only got access to his long after his main conflict was over. Still I honestly don't think she could overcome Steven's ability to move so fast time almost stops for him. Like Ryan said that kind of ability is on a different level from just being able to move fast. I also don't think any of the spells she actually uses in the show could break his strongest shields. That said there are a couple ways she could still probably win. If she managed to cast Solaria's Total Annihilation Spell then Steven would likely try and fail to stop it with his shield. I'm not sure she knows that spell but I don't think any shield could actually block it so Steven would likely die if that happened. Alternatively she could use the most op spell in the series. The time freeze spell. I'm surprised they didn't mention that one. Steven may be fast but no amount of super speed can compare to that. Granted there's a chance it could destroy time itself but worst case scenario that's still a tie. So yeah. Star still wins because while both shows have a filler episode where the MC manipulates time, Steven's involved a plot device that got destroyed while Star's involved a spell that she could theoretically cast whenever she wanted so long as she's ok with the potential consequences of doing so.

It's funny when you think about that they put this characters way beyond Naruto, Ichigo, Ryuko, All Might, Yoda, Obi Wan, and even Cable. These cute little cartoon kids can dolo your favourite verse.

The cluster wasn't a massive explosion, it was a creature essentially that would destroy the planet when it expanded and grew, just destroying earth by fucking up the core, and Steven bubbles it before it even grew

First it was their first 3d fight ever and it didn't look great, second both characters have new feats since they did it, and lastly the way the determine things and research has changed since they last did this match, like in the original cloud vs link they made alot of limits and assumptions for what cloud had, but used like smash bros feats for link and used an amalgamation of every version of him

The dust didn't clear with her standing there fine. She was either teleported to the realm of magic or she died and the realm of magic rebuilt her body. Also even in her butterfly form Star's actual fighting abilities aren't that great. In both of her two most intense fights in the series she basically loses and Eclipsa has to bail her out. Her butterfly form is fast when travelling but in an actual fight her speed isn't all that impressive. She also still needs to say her spells out loud and make specific gestures to cast any significant ones. With all those conditions Steven's superspeed mode isn't really something she could handle if he was seriously trying to kill her. Also even if Star's spellbook has a lot of powerful spells, that doesn't necessarily mean she's actually learnt any of them. That might sound harsh but it's canonical that she mostly ignored the book until she outright lost it and then almost exclusively relied on the spells she personally made. I'd also hesitate to give her a planet buster laser based on a one off joke. If she could actually cast it that strongly she would've used it in one of the two boss fights I mentioned. The strongest spells I remember her using were her nuclear rainbow spells and rainbow armor. I don't think she actually knows the Total Annihilation Spell but if she does it could give her a real chance against Steven assuming he didn't decide to dodge it. I don't think even his strongest shield could block that thing for a second. Other than that I feel like this would be an easy Steven win unless she breaks out her time stop spell. I was surprised they didn't mention that one actually. That spell has the potential to break time but if she uses it it's pretty much game over.

There’s also Daruks protection making him invincible for 3 hits and easily the most useful in that fight is Urbosas fury given how much range that lightning dome has and it can disarm anyone caught in the blast while stunning them. (Didn’t factor revali’s gale cause while useful its purely transport that can be used to maybe dodge)

I want you guys to think about something. At 22:46 in this video, death battle calculated Steven’s shield to be able to withstand 2 tenatons of tnt which is basically dwarf star level. This means Steven should have been easily been able to block that planetary laser at the end of the fight, that same laser death battle said would get through Steven’s defenses.

Which honestly i dont find that too hard to believe cause if she did her part in the destruction of the magic realm (which enters every dimension in the universe) she destroyed 1/4th of all magic and given the magic realm spans nearly infinite amounts of dimensions thats.. an insane thought.

Honestly Steven universe & Star vs the forces of evil are both shows that started of well but got worse as the seasons went on. "Star vs" characters became hateful & unlikable in their last 2 seasons and the writers literally put shipping the characters over a good story. Including the forced genocide that was mentioned in the death battle that could have been avoided in multiple ways which fans didn't hesitate to point out when they tore the terrible finale apart. The show also likes to do a lot of important things offscreen than explain what happened. The writers clearly didn't understand the meaning of "SHOW DON'T TELL". While Steven universe gave their villains terrible reformations, pushed rose's character into garbage. And both the finales including the "Mental trauma" were disgustingly forced. Hence why they are majorly hated by fans. Plus at a certain point the writers were just giving Steven more powers just to give him more powers. Overall I hate that these shows had so much missed potential because of terrible writing.

Or what about the threat of Greg’s old manager coming after Steven for revenge. While Steven universe gave their villains terrible reformations, pushed rose's character into garbage. And both the finales including the "Mental trauma" were disgustingly forced. Hence why they are majorly hated by fans.
Plus at a certain point the writers were just giving Steven more powers just to give him more powers.
Overall I hate that these shows had so much missed potential because of terrible writing.
And despite Steven having more powers he still ends up getting trampled over by a butterfly girl

@@joshblackwell8632 honestly i have more issue with Seven universe than SVFOE mostly cause while stars story was rushed it did have a unique ending where the protagonist goes against the very powers she was given throughout generations to tear down an oppressive and unjust society of hatred. Also yea the starco was pushed HARD but they still had chemistry. Problems i have with the final season of steven universe is they forget a lot of stuff. Like what happened to the gem mutants?! Or what about the threat of Greg’s old manager coming after Steven for revenge. I can forgive stars show for wrapping up too quickly but steven universe while wrapped up stuff ok forgot a lot of preexisting problems.

Both are good shows but I believe star is kinda better than Steven, no hate just because of both the endings Steven has like the worst and star vs has more better story to it.
