    The song being played at 2:25 is "Ich hatt einen Kamerad." It is a ballad as old as the Fatherland, and represents a soldier's longing for those he has lost.

    • @trismegistus2881
      @trismegistus2881 Год назад +2

      It dates back to the early 19th century, so (compared to 'the fatherland') it is not that old.

    Paul von Hindenburg, the President of Germany, passed away on August 2, 1934. He served as the President from 1925 until his death in 1934. Following his death, Adolf Hitler combined the offices of Chancellor and President, declaring himself as both Führer und Reichskanzler, consolidating power and effectively ending the era of the Weimar Republic.

      In fact German troops did it. They were afraid that Red Army can spoil memory of Hindenburg, so took coffins and destroyed walls. Stones from the ruins were later used to rebuild Warsaw , tha was by such "Heroes" like Reinefahrt,well known later as burgemeister In Weterland. And another thousends of neves sued " heroes".
