    📖 GLOSSARY: 📖
    ► False Vocal Folds: False vocal folds, also called ventricular folds are a pair of thick folds of mucous membrane that are located above the larynx. They close when swallowing to protect the lungs.
    ► Thin Vocal Folds: When the folds thin out when you go higher in the range. Also known as head voice.
    ► Falsetto: When the vocal folds are stiff and let out air.
    ► Thick Vocal Folds = When you are in your chest register (so lower than an A above middle C ish) the true vocal folds are thick, and therefore we call this thick vocal folds.
    ► True Vocal folds = Vocal cords. They aren't cords at all but folds of tissue and ligament, so we stay clear of you thinking they are like two ropes in your larynx.
    ► Larynx: the place in the throat where the Vocal Folds / Vocal Cords live.

      Not always, he’s been straining his voice for a long time so now it’s it at the point where sometimes if he tries to go for a note his voice will just give out, it’ll either crack or sound really raspy, if you want an example search in “Brendon urie bohemian rhapsody voice crack”

    His range was impressive. What also impressed me was 1) the car didn't budge a millimeter when he was rolling on the bonnet and 2) the guitarist over his left shoulder at the end was also a back-up singer!

    Male here with a pretty short range, I have went up about 5 keys with thid song and am trying to sing everything an octave lower. Still having trouble with that high note on "You're the only one..." I can sing it in Falsetto/head but it sounds like kermit the frog.. im not sure how to belt or if I can even belt that high. My larynx and everything in my throat goes really high up when I go higher and it just constricts everything and I feel like it's impossible to reach that high.

    Zoe,
    I can hit the belt all the way till “who’s gonna drive me home tonight” but my voice cracks if I try to hit those two higher notes. Is this a range that I can learn to hit or not?
    Thank you for this even though you’re not the biggest fan of this song.
    Cheers.

    I actually think for the first time in his career, he used pre-recorded vocals, at least for the chorus (verses seemed live). You can see it when the vocal has him completing the words with a hard "T" like "operate" but his mic fades away from his mouth and never actually completes the T with his mouth. 4:03 in your video. I've also seen some complaints from his tour that all of the new songs has him lipsyncing he choruses. Disappointing but understandable. He recorded what seems to a layman to be a really tough record.

      Oh really? I need to take another look. Hmm 😒 🤔

    • @airy_fairy
      @airy_fairy Год назад +7

      I don’t think this is true actually. The backing track is loud and can cover his singing at some points but everyone from the concerts who’s actually been refutes this. The straight to tape thing means the live sounds really similar. You can hear the fade in sound when he moves his mouth away from the mic. Ppl do love to hate on Brendon for any reason they possibly can and this is most likely another rumour spread by antis. I’m yet to see real evidence of this
