I've got to say i had my reservations about the MK pro but now that i've been playing with that whistle for a while i just want to ditch the others and buy more keys haha. The only thing now is the slipperyness i used some tape to stop that but otherwise i love how they sound. Now have the G also , aiming to get a mezzo a. STill love all my Kerry whistles but i think the thunderbirds are nicer than the new buskers as they are softer. You can't beat the brass delrin one's for consistency in the upper octaves though but they sound more "silky" compared to the Aluminium whistles i love the sound of the aluminium but the brass ones are easier in many ways and as i said more consistent in the high notes. The problem with the Aluminium ones is just the amount of moisture and keeping them warm i love the sound they make though. Well i guess as you say you can't have it all. That's why i think the Karavaev whistles are a great inbetween to be honest as they have the plastic mouthpiece but the aluminium body .

Great all-around thoughts. Thanks so much for sharing those. I’m still looking forward to adding a Karavaev whistle to my collection.

For me the worst is if they need to much air, if i can't hole more than 6 notes on a slow air i'm out. The James Dominick ones sound lovely but need sooo much air i had to sell them.

I feel the same. I don’t think you should have to compromise air requirement to be expressive.
