Tito's problem was he had no charisma. He was a good wrestler, but he could not do promos. He just seemed uncomfortable with the Mic. Guys like Jacques and Rick Martel for example spoke English as their second language, but they were good on the mic. Tito was lacking there. Wrestling involves a lot of self promotion and TIto was lacking there.

The guy made a GREAT villain, as Jacques Rougeau and later as the Mounty. I loved it when the Fabulous Rougeaus started turning heel and Jacques was always so happy, hopping up and down, clapping his hands like a kid, and hugging his brother after tricking an opponent and stomping on him.

I saw Tito a couple times, 1983 and 1986, and ironically both times he fought Iron Mike Sharp. The 1st time was fantastic, sharp was coming off his wimp push, and left the arena, the 2nd time I saw them, I believe the feature no showed, so Iron Mike and Tito went at it for nearly 40 minutes. It was crazy the people were going nuts they kept the house and the. Iron Mike beats him down with his “hurt” arm then swings him into the ropes, on the return Tito is nailed with the arm again and it Actually looked like an old Iron Mike finish when from the time when he could win a match. Tito sold it so well everyone thought we were witnessing the upset of upsets. We waited to see the match on tv, months went by , highlights of the match appeared and the announcers are talking about running out of time and we might not see the ending.. some places did , some didn’t.. all the tapings were done in my city, I finally found the finish on RUclips…. Of course Tito wins ;)

Plus he always had a driver so if he was last out he wouldn't be the only one there.
