I was there at the Winnipeg Arena in '93/94. Quebecers vs Steiners. Quebecers had the titles but the Steiners got the pin. Everyone thought the titles changed hands but the announcer said "The winners are the Steiner Brothers..." (crowd cheers) "but the titles do not count." Scott yelled at the Quebecers "C'mon!" to get in the ring again. The Quebecers near the entrance, I think Jacques, said something funny like "Yeah...but we'll do it next time." The crowd laughed. As a kid, I didn't understand what was going on but this video explains a lot.
He was always such a great villain, as the Mountie and when he and Raymond turned heel years earlier. He always had that scowl as the Mountie, but he was always so happy when he was one of the Fabulous Rougeau Brothers.
The Mountie was a really good heel,he did a great job. I remember his matches against bret hart and Roddy Piper. Vince probably respected him for standing up for himself a few times and getting back at dynamite kid cause we all know Vince won't push someone that is a coward.
I loved when I was a kid and was a big mark for the quebecers, steiners, lod, and the headshrinkers. Tag team wrestling was amazing in the late 80s early 90s.
Tom Billington should be remembered for being possibly Britains best pro wrestler & an amazing talent. But with that talent comes great confidence & arrogance I believe Rougeau when he says he would have avoided the confrontation if he could have, unfortunately 9 out of 10 guys would have to take action in his situation to reclaim some pride.

3:56 - Jacques must be confused, because the last time Macho had the title was in late 1992 (post Summerslam) and the Steiners were still in WCW, they joined WWF in December 92 long after Macho lost the title to Flair. 🤔
Anything is possible. I think he told this once in an interview of the 1993 European tour, working with the Steiner’s. Or at least on the same tour. These guys get older, sometimes they just don’t remember as accurately.
Bravery is not picking a fight. The best martial arts trainers say in a fight your first option in a fight is to run. If that is not available then you fight.
LMAO I dunno why its so funny to me that somewhere in this universe's timeline, The Steiner Brothers were busy because they were slashing Ludvig Borga's tires.
Rougeau said in other interviews that the apple toss was because the Steiners tied up a midget wrestler and Rougeau told them to stop. Usually if the stories change depending on the interview then most of it is BS.
He’s remembering wrong or it had to be WCW. But I believe Liz was only with Savage for a brief period in 98 when Savage was feuding with DDP. He's said it on multiple occasions and said it was due to Dink being bullied. To be fair Dink himself confirmed it and so did Carl Oullett.
