You just got yourself a new subscriber 😁, awesome reviews 👏 I'll really love to see a full review from a photographer's point of view. Really glad I found your channel. Keep it up 😁
I kinda think you don't get the Pixel... Most of its features are meant to be automatic, with computational photography doing the lifting, not raw with manual editing. I think a better comparison would be in full auto on both.
I'm watching this video with my pixel 7 pro, and my god, I thought my p30 pro took good photos, this phone is doing magic to the images. I'm blown away
Would love to see a full camera review of the Pixel. But maybe with all the software magic enabled. Also what would be really interesting to see would be how good the telephoto is for portraits. The 4x of the Pixel 6 Pro was amazing for portraits imo. Lots of natural depth of field. Would be cool to see
Something the interests me with the Pixel 7 (and latest iPhone) is the crop modes. The whole "optical quality" without an extra lens. With high resolution sensors becoming more common, cropping a 50, 100 and now days 200 MP sensors gives plenty of zoom. Put 3 or 4 lenses on the camera and you suddenly have an even more versatile setup then what you would want to carry for your pro camera. Sure, you could just crop these in post too, but then there is all the magic computer stuff happening as well....
Very fair comparison, thank you so much. Please do a full photography review for Pixel 7 Pro as we need to test the camera in night mode with different stabilization modes and also different amount of light, this will be great for sure.
Excellent video comparison of the Pixel 7 and Sony camera. I am a photographer as well and am blown away with my Pixel 6 Pro photos and am looking for to getting the 7 Pro. I wish, like on my Fuji cameras, I could shot BnW photos straight out of camera or have film simulations. This would make the Pixel phones unstoppable as a camera phone. 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Google went balls deep with this year's pixel.... I hope they continue to take their hardware seriously. It will push Samsung and Apple to... Push back. All of us benefit from this
Good to see you still continuing making videos. Took me a while to find your channel but hey loving the content. 👌🏼 Looking forward to see your future stuff!
Your keen eye for composition and lighting truly elevates your phone reviews. It's not just about the specs but also about the real-world results, and your photos beautifully convey that.🙌♥️
Great video! I'm stuck between the Pixel 7 Pro or an iPhone 14 Pro Max (I'm normally an android guy). I was wondering if the Pixel 7 Pro RAW photos are 50mp or still 12mp like last year?
man I'm going to be getting a 7 pro soon these photos were so cool man, but compared to dslr cameras in the price range of the 7 pro msrp how do you think they compare? This really suprisede me lol
5:00 I'm definitely biased, as a Pixel 6a user and I'm not a professional photographer, but I do think he's a little bit biased here too: to me personally, the second video looks way better than the second. I also find, on my phone, which obviously does even more sharpening, that the colors feel like they match up very well, especially compared to other phones and I like the sharpness a lot. I will say however, that I also played with Deep Dream Generator quite a bit (which btw often adds very visible artificiality, depending on your settings) and I found that these pictures have something that we didn't have at all before, which is that ai look and which I like a lot. so you could say I'm already tilted towards that look. I definitely wouldn't use portrait mode, personally, I think that looks very fake and unnecessary, but just because a traditional camera has videos look more fuzzy, that doesn't mean that fuzziness has to be objectively better.
It's a really nice video. Team pixel have really done a great job with their camera software n hardware to be able to get shots looking this way. And your vidoes are really nice bro. I never get tired of watching them.
Love to see more comparisions, but the thing is not the "price", it have to do with the lens and the camera. You can use a Sony Alpha 6600 + Sigma 30mm 1.4f (about USD 1500) and you'll get shocking results, specially in portraits.
Some of your lowlight capture examples are backlit by car headlights. This blows out the machine learning ability to adjust for ambient. Not the greatest comparison. That said, this is a really good video and I was surprised how close the two are in some photography situations.
@@ItsTomRich oh thank you very much! cant wait to watch! do soecialy on portrait and night shots! depending on your review im buying either the pixel 6 or the newer pixel 7!
The Pixel would've come out much better had you not clicked with the RAW mode. You spoiled the images. Pixel shots had purple color in the sky which doesn't happen in the Auto mode
I got my P7 yesterday and im very disappointed. The cameras are fine but the post processing add so much contrast and sharpening. Grass looks grey and streets lok very dark. Im very disappointed because i bought it because of the cameras :/
Almost all the Sony shots have crazy bad white balance and the video from it is awful. I'm really surprised because Sony cameras usually impress me but these photos are really unrealistic. Good video though as always.
Fascinating comparison. It's impressive how close some shots can be while the Pixel is half the size and probably x5 less expensive than the Sony camera. I can't wait for another round with the Pixel 8 Pro next year.
So: 80-ish % of performance for less than 1/5th of the price? That's... Great! *80ish % when we're talking about capturing the very moments in front of our own eyes, not pro-level wedding photography in churches.
No no, I love the ultra wide. I just didn’t have a lens wide enough for the Sony! 13mm is wiiiide! Doing a Pixel 7 vs. IPhone 14 Pro comparison this week and will definitely talk about it
@@ItsTomRich The image and video quality smartphone produces are mostly on par, sometime suppress, a what a DSLR can produce, from a non-professional photographer stand point.
Not true at all - Google’s straight out of camera shots come with an unnatural HDR, over sharpened images that are fantastic in certain situations but often look fake. This comparison is about getting the best out of the Pixel camera and shooting RAW let’s me do that in 90% of situations. I’ll be covering this in more detail in the full photography review :)
Nice comparison Tom - for the video did you have Active Stabilisation on the A7S iii activated? I have the A7iv and that makes a big difference when shooting video handheld! I agree when shooting video you can really see the oversharpening on the Pixel 7 Pro but it really does perform extremely well in stills, especially straight out of cam. And that telephoto! Thanks for watching Dan! I think this is probably not actively stabilised? Or at least I didn’t change that setting but OIS was enabled. I’m planning on getting an A7IV so I’ll get a bit more used to Sonys settings 😎🤓
@@vishalrajdavid4421 I absolutely love pixels, they're great. I've owned most models since the pixel 2. Iphone is still a winner when it comes to video . I wish Google was as good in that department

I see your point.. but this is a good comparison if you were to use both for the same use, where you *would* take the raw photos back and edit them.

I definitely agree! Not that it’ll ever happen, but if Fuji partnered with a smartphone manufacturer for a phone launch it would be amaaaazing 💥💥
@@ItsTomRich yes yes!!! Let's keep our fingers crossed
Hey there Tom. Did I really win something, or is this a bot pretending to be you? 🤷🏽♂️😁
Google nailed it, you can't easily tell that it's shot from Google in other photos, but in iphone you can easily identify

it's hard to judge the camera quality when you apply filter to the images.
I didn’t filter any images?

Great video! I'm stuck between the Pixel 7 Pro or an iPhone 14 Pro Max (I'm normally an android guy). I was wondering if the Pixel 7 Pro RAW photos are 50mp or still 12mp like last year?
All 12mp RAWs from what I can tell! Tbh though, it’s kind of a good thing. The 50mp RAWs are so huge and don’t really give any benefit

To avoid artificial lights and noises in low light condition full camera control would be great
