    I recently got a manual
    718 RACE CAR Spyder.
    It's a experience everytime I drive it, and what a LOOKER !

Hi mate! Is the difference in power and torque negligible? And what about the sound? Thanks and cheers from Italy!

Enjoyed the video and although I haven't driven either car, I do have a 718 GT4
which I drive almost daily. Perhaps it's the standard seats in mine that make the difference,
but I don't find the ride uncomfortable. For those who appreciate driving dynamics, I would agree with Tuned Into Cars and
recommend the GT4 or Spyder over the GTS variants.

Actually you might have a point. It could be the seats. The buckets are pretty stiff :)

As good as the Spyder looks, I don't get its purpose. A car that is so track focused, GT suspension, cup 2 tires, lighter weight, no driving modes... with a soft top? Actual track drivers will get the GT4. The GTS package seems to make so much more sense for mixed road (real world) usage, let alone all the options that are available.

Its purpose is to fit a niche. It might be a GT car and it may work well on track, but it also works very well on the street. And after driving two of these Spyders in the past year, I can honestly say it's one of the most special Porsche cars out there. I love it and I would definitely consider it if I were to buy a GTS4.0 or a GT4.

It’s purpose is just to look gorgeous, I have a 981 Spyder, and it gets compliments every time I drive it.

Well you just hit it on the head, LOOKS MATTER ! Lol. So what don’t u get? The Spyder makes a Boxster look like a Volkswagen. It’s not even close

For those of you that might never have driven a race car for real, they are both still ROAD cars, there is nothing Motorsport about them in truth. A race car would be horrible to drive on a public road. The GT cars are just sportier road cars, which comes with obvious downsides.

I've made this video quite a while back so I can't recall everything I've said, but I doubt I say the Spyder is a race car

No, the spyder is a boxster!!! a more radical boxster, but a boxter!
and the 718's roof opens and closes in 9 seconds, not 15
The 718 is nicer and more practical for everyday use and the power difference between the two is barely noticeable.

You obviously have never owned and driven both lol….and Porsche distinguishes that the Spyder is NOT a Boxster. The Boxster is like a Volkswagen Golf compared to the Spyder lol

@@terryspanos9046 That's more than hyperbole. Both are great cars but for everyday driving the GTS rules. The difference in power is negligible and you will feel the Spyder on rough roads. It is much more direct but you pay a price- livability. The top on the Spyder is also a PITA in comparison. But I do think the Spyder is much more attractive.

BTW I did drive both, bought the GTS and own a 991.2 as well.

    • @terryspanos9046
      @terryspanos9046 Год назад +1

I own a 991.2 Targa4 GTS and a Spyder. If I had to keep 1, it would definitely be the Spyder and now it is discontinued and will be a collectible. Practicality and Horsepower do not mean as much to me as Looks, uniqueness, and a connected driving experience. The Spyder with the full buckets is the best drivers car I have ever owned or been in. 718 GTS is very nice but doesn’t turn heads like the Spyder……I have seen 0 Spyders in my life on the road compared to hundreds of 718 GTS’s. I actually think the 718 GTS is more fun to drive than even a 991.2! I love it. It just isn’t as unique as a Spyder and doesn’t have the GT components

@@terryspanos9046 25 years > Spyder. Spyder’s extended run ruined collectability. The 2016 version is going to be the more collectible car
