I have brought a sports jacket from NEXT on the label it says 42r, now I’ve measured my chest and I measure 40” now the NEXT sports jacket fits snug, I wouldn’t be able to wear a thick jumper under it. I am after a an over jacket such as an Epsom single breasted 3 button coat just to add a bit of style to my outfits, what do you all think ?

I know you asked this a while ago, but, what she means is that if the measurement around the shoulders is 10 inches larger than the measurement around the chest.
He was 36in chest and 45in shoulders, so only 9in larger.

if you noticed, she measured it loosely, not super snug. you should be able to fit 2 fingers under the tape comfortably

every suit maker is dramatically different- you should know (or say) this- how long have you been selling clothes- Calvin, v boss v cardin, v celini, v polo, etc..........all 1-2 sizes different- FACT- just like hiking boots or tennis shoes-
