How he has not hosted the Oscars yet is beyond me, he’d kill it
Because the Americans would call him “gram” 😂
@@MrsCrazyrange So are you suggesting he should host the Grammys, then?
@@allendracabal0819 Gram Norton hosting the Grahamys
I wonder if the Oscars are worried about another Ricky Gervais style roasting?
@@MrsCrazyrangeYes 😅 Gram Norton 😅
As someone who has suffered from depression for years i cant even count how many hours i have zoned out to the graham norton show. Saved me again and again. Nothing better.
Same. Watching Noton always brought my mood up.
Me too. Nothing comes close, except maybe Friends clips/episodes. For me, those are the two you can almost always count on.
@@monmothma3358 So weird I also count on these two shows to uplift my mood. It’s a fail safe.
Samantha, exercise. Go for runs. Get your heart rate up and get a sweat on. If you can, get in a steam room / sauna. It'll change your life.
same 😊always cheers me up no end
true to form, graham mentioned not recognizing celebrities and got an embarrassing story in return
Great. Love both of these hosts. I've been watching Mr. Norton for more than a decade in the US and he is wonderful. Thank you BBC America and the internet.
I love seeing Graham be interviewed..it's awesome. What a lovely man.💗💗
THE Man, The Myth, The Legend! 🤩🤩🤩🤩
He will always be Father Noel Furlong to me.
Love him!
Has anyone else met Graham at the Cross in London when Norman Cook was playing (or anyone else for that matter)?
What great times, what a great club.
Graham Norton is a big deal. I LOVE his show!
He’s the best Eurovision host too, I look forward to his comments every year they are hilarious 😆
The late late show ❤❤
Of course he's a fantastic guest. Humour, charisma and personality coming out of his ears, this guy
Who doesn't love Graham?
Couldn't agree more, have loved Graham since his days on Channel 4, I find he's toned himself down a bit as he's aged but who hasn't. He's definitely one of the best British late night hosts which is why he gets all the big stars although British TV is very different as we don't have a lot of night-time talk shows like this.
@@stevebaker2890 I ❤️ Norton from Cleveland, Ohio, USA. Discovered him on RUclips a few years ago. Haven't stopped listening since.
His wine is pretty awesome too! ;)
Oh sure
Graham is self-deprecating. The guests on his show are comfortable because he is a great host - many a guest have says so to him.
They often say it during their interview! US guests tend to be surprised how laid-back it is, that they’re given booze and that they can swear like a trooper. 😂
And Graham also gives them space to talk! And they tend to try to fill up that space, which is great for revealing things ha!
Another huge advantage in GN's show is that his guests (mostly) appear *together*, not sequentially, so they interact not just with the host but also with each other. As a result, some of the show's most endearing or hilarious moments come when guests of different ages, backgrounds, or career arcs interact with each other. No American talk shows do this anymore, and we're worse off for it.
@@ashtree7213 that was the best one ever! Hilarious.
@@mark99k James Corden did it. Not now of course since he ended his show but I remember thinking that he was emulating Graham's style of hosting.
Love him so much ❤ best interviewer there is !

And we love you! ❤️
I love our late night hosts, but Graham is so special! I adore him!
Get him on Chicken Shop Date, I dare you.
@@eclectica1Imagine 😂 Would be Meta asf
I love that they mentioned Dame Judi by name, because Graham having to remind her they went clubbing together once is one of my favorite chat show moments ever. Gems, the both of them.
My favorite thing about Dame Judy is that for all of her dignified stature she still has a love of profanity and very naughty behavior.
Honestly, my favourite chat show bit is from the Graham Norton show as well. It's where the cast of the Monuments Men were on and they all got hammered 😂😂
Yesssss!!! Lol that was hilarious!!
Mine is Greg Davis making Ryan Gosling crack up with a story about his mums pants, curry and Jackson Pollock.😂😂😂
Leslie manvilles story about Dench off in the wings of a stage simulating sex during her performance is hysterical.
-I think it’s Manville might be someone else
Graham Norton is the only show host in the world that has something unique. He can make 4 different celebrities who havent even met each other, feel comfortable amongst each other and make them interact. Genius.
And he manages to have rapport and chemistry with all of them he's a genius
The man can get freaking HARRISON FORD to act silly and open up. That's LEGENDARY. Only Graham and Conan can do that.
giving them booze always helps too.
I know alchol is demonized alot because of addicts, but it really does make guests on shows more fun.
@@NeilLewis77 demonized? Not in europe.
It absolutely IS genius. Matt Damon once said it was the best time he'd ever had on a talk show. 😂
Graham Norton has always had the ability to make me laugh in such a way that I instantly feel 100% better. Call it serotonin, silliness, charisma - he's got something special like no other. Him and Seth together are A++++.
He reminds me of all my aunt’s friends growing up. All were gay, hilarious, self deprecating & could cut you to the quick if they decided to give you a what for.
It’s it’s genre of funny. Or would that be a subset? Idk! But you get my point.
And his crazy clothes.
When he’s talking to Marilyn Zmandon about the camera he purchased to see .. inside a woman & the f*** machine- priceless!
Met him working as a waitress… the most intelligent, gentle and the most polite person ever.
I love that he’s truly like this offscreen! Awww
other then corden he is a nice one it seems
Took me a while to realise that you were the waitress in that scenario, not Graham Norton
@@JonathanReite Damn you for beating me to that.........
I'm glad you confirmed my impression of him
One of the best, one of the few I truly admire I have so much respect for him. He's eloquent, sharp but never rude
I would go so far to say he is the best currently. If you have someone who is better in your opinion, please share!
@@TheBod76 "better" might be difficult but I love Conan O'Brien - no longer as tv show host but podcast and just as person in general. I have a respect for hosts who could intellectually totally destroy a guest but just don't. Conan and Graham for me are the smartest out there currently
@@jotzu9055 Conan comes across as acerbic whereas Graham doesn't. Both are extremely intelligent, more than most of their guests... or viewers lol
Craig Ferguson, otoh, was pure joyful mayhem.
NOW yes but in the 90s/00s his monologues were awfully misogynistic.
You are right on the mark😊
I think it’s funny that Graham Norton still acts surprised that Americans know who he is. Dude, we have the internet and RUclips in America. I have spent whole days with Graham Norton on while I’m cleaning my house or something. He’s fantastic!
He’s being self-deprecating. The Brits and Irish value humility. He’d never discuss his own popularity.
@@clothilde1623Exactly, I live in West Cork where he got married. Absolutely no celebrity bullshit. Kept it local, and he's so beloved here.
@@EMMYK1916 American culture is so different in terms of celebrating yourself and bigging yourself up that they just don’t seem to understand how queasy that makes us across the Atlantic!
@@clothilde1623 True, we don't like to be seen as (can't think of correct term), but basically if you're seen as big headed over this side of the pond, it takes away from the authenticity of one's personality. I Au Paired in France, and did a University Erasmus in Spain, also similar attitude. To not be too boastful about things...because if you are like that, you're a dickhead!😂 Humility is a personality trait that seems to be less valuable in the age of (show it all off, aren't I wonderful ) social media.
He underestimates how far his fandom stretches. Humility is one if his many great qualities.
The greatest talk show host of all time.
...and Seth is good, too.
After Craig Ferguson
@@stephanemignot100 That's the gold standard trifecta right there. Each great in their own right.
Totally agree with you. I love Graham Norton!!
@@stephanemignot100 Graham Norton is the GOAT at being the classic talk show host. Nobody is better at getting material out of his guests and directing the show. Craig Ferguson is a special case, because his show was very much an anti-talk show that parodied and lampooned talk show cliches - no pre-interview, question cards being ripped apart at the beginning of the interview, robot skeleton for a sidekick, no band, insults to the audience, constant self-deprication about the show, the fourth wall constantly being broken etc. Loved his show. I also think Conan is pretty good because of his ability to co-operate with his guests comedically.
All these hosts can't hold a candle to Conan
I legit laughed out loud at Seth's anecdote of the young person saying "Hi", him panicking and thinking they had been a guest on the show and asking what they'd been up to, and they responded "Oh you know - studying for finals." 😂
And they're probably thinking "this Seth Meyers is very approachable"
yeah, i loved all the graham norton stories here but this throwaway story by seth is what made me truly lose it
Yes...I also watched the clip
Thanks to RUclips, I've been watching Graham for years. I love his format of multiple guests at once. It creates some great dynamics and he navigates it *so* well. It's great to see him in the US!
I've been a fan since he was Father Noel Furlong.
what i love is that he's ALWAYS in the room with them, they are Never in the room with him being ignored once another guest comes in -- just like you do in your own home!
Corden tried and failed at this dynamic. He doesn’t have Graham’s sparkle!
He does navigate it well. That's for sure.
That format was created originally by _Sir Michael Parkinson_ - who many Brits would argue was the UK's finest talk show host _ever._
Michael (known affectionately as 'Parky') sadly died just two weeks ago and he set the bar for what talk show hosts should be. Never the star, always the facilitator - the unlocker - of conversation, candid stories, and occasionally even secrets. 🤍
Graham is great, love seeing him get such a reception
Graham is a HUGE deal in Canada. We love him and his show! The best!
He's a big deal everywhere way before America
Graham doesn't seem to know everyone is watching him on youtube too, it doesn't matter anymore where they air his show he'll have hundreds of viral videos on youtube.
@@Iflie
Few years ago i used to watch these clips of his show on YT everyday on repeat
@@mohmedhassan6875 Yeah they stay fun, sometimes I just go look up a bit I remember to enjoy it again. Most of the celebrities and comedians are at their best on that show. Graham being extremely funny and teasing too.
It’s funny, I only really noticed how much Seth concentrates on his guests. Graham does as well, but he did turn to the audience more times, where Seth maintained active listening👍 As many have said, two great hosts. Also shout out to Seth for immediately calling out the awkwardness that Graham had as a guest rather than host, excellent strategy mate 👍
It shows why both are great at their job. Seth is there to host Graham and Graham is there to entertain the audience. It's something Fallon and Corden will likely never learn.
@@Elwaves2925 I hate when they interrupt the guests, especially Corden. Fallon's laugh comes off as fake even though he laughs at everything; he would break all the time on SNL. Corden is so obviously starstruck at everyone he interviews.
The one aspect that i appreciate with Graham is that he does a really good job of getting his guests to talk to each other. I used to get frustrated with hosts like Johnny Carson, who had guests, but each was interviewed for 5 minutes, and then pushed over to the couch, not to be heard from again, but still "there". Graham knows how to let a good conversation continue without any input from himself.
@@Elwaves2925 Fallon is the WORST
@@tytn9978 Yes that is a big thing, I love it when a guest asks another guest a question.
The man from west Cork that had to leave Ireland to really be appreciated for his worth. He deserves all the success he has earned. Fair fecks to you graham, left Ireland and have a show fifty times the late late show. Legend.
Teddddddddddd
Leaving the country for opportunities has nothing got to do with being under appreciated. He's always been loved in Ireland. Dragging down something else is not a way to compliment, it just shows how much you dislike the other thing.
@@comment15 I totally disagree. We as a country seem to bring people down if they get too high. Sinews O Conor was an example of this. Our media tore her to bits back in the day and she never got over that. Huge amount of people think U2 are up themselves, the list is endless.
In my opinion we do not like people being too successful. Graham would not have made it if he stayed here. A) he was a gay man when it was illegal to be so and b) what’s the best he could have done, RTE?
@@eoghanfla6343 "Sinews O Conor" - her name was Sinéad O'Connor.
I had the opportunity to be an audience at Graham Norton's show this year and he was so nice and charming toward us. The best host and a class act!
Does he really not know how beloved he is in the States? Everybody loves Graham Norton over here!
I suspect he knows to a degree but he also comes off as quite modest, so it's not something he'd play up unless it was for a joke.
He’s been living here in the UK for a long time and Brits are very, very self-deprecating. We really value humility and nothing makes us roll our eyes more than someone with an inflated ego who boasts about their own success (which is one of the _many_ reasons Trump is less popular here than leprosy). Big yourself up and someone will soon bring you back down, lol. I think the Irish are exactly the same.
I’m sure Graham knows he has a lot of fans in the States but he’d never mention it, especially not on telly!
Most people in Britain have no idea Graham's show is seen internationally.
@@johnking5174 What’s that got to do with anything? Anyway, people in Britain are aware of the BBC World Service and BBC America; they’ll also see comments from all manner of nationalities under his RUclips clips.
@@clothilde1623 Actually no - the majority don't know of those channels.
These two actually MAKE conversation rather than just ask questions and blindingly agree. Graham especially is so sharp and witty whereas a majority of American hosts are so lax, it makes the interviews feel awkward and you wonder how they got their own show.
I do like Seth but I think the reason Graham is a better host is because in America all interviews move so quickly it’s like they barely allow the guest to finish a train of thought, they want to cover so many topics in such a short amount of time. In Graham’s show it feels more like they’re all having a conversation
I feel like James Corden was trying to mimic the format of Graham Norton, but it feels more forced and rushed. The GN show is truly the best.
The thing I like about Graham Norton is he isn't into those "gotcha" moments with his guests and they know it. Also, he's cheeky and a great interviewer. It's fun to watch the guests loosen up and see they're in a safe space.
Graham Norton is easily my favorite host of all time. He has a way of making his guests feel at ease, and I never get tired of the Red chair!
Love how the embarrassing story gambit worked ON SETH. Brilliant 😂😂😂
Graham keeps the guests talking on his show, but isn't a camera hog. He really let's his guests shine.
Love The Graham Norton show it's always so much fun ,and the big red chair is hilarious. 😂Great interview, thank you. 🤗
i agree he's funny as hell it's been awhile since i last watched him but i'm always laughing when i watch him unlike Jimmy Fallon whom i don't think has any talent

Tony Feeennnneeyyyy it's half past 10!!
He has a chat show with his name on it, and yet no toxicity from him. He's genuinely nice and likeable.
I love Graham Norton and his interview style. Seth was the perfect person to interview such a fantastic interviewer.
Graham Norton is one of my favorite favorite talk show host/celebritie! His body of work through the years can speak for itself. He and his team are top notch.
⭐Graham Norton⭐is the *GREATEST* talk show host of all time. His warmth, charisma, deadpan wit, effortless relatability, empathy, intelligence, timing, amazing ability to bring the best out of his guests, and his flawless balance between listening and interjecting make him absolutely one-of-a-kind. I have often binge-watched and laughed endlessly through his shows, he's that good. 💛🧡💛🌟⭐
He brings the gay uncle/gay BFF vibe, which I love. Intellugent, laughs at himself, the innuendo, saying inappropriate things, gets guests to share crazy stories, has a knack for scheduling the right guests together. And he’s never mean. He may tease, but he’s never trying to cut anyone down or make them feel bad. That is a rarity. ❤
I’ve never heard a single soul complain about not liking him, him hurting their feelings, or not wanting to go back, saying they regretting they’d gone, etc.
He’s got a gift no doubt!
❤
I wouldn’t say the best of ALL time, but very close. I know for sure Graham would say Gay Byrne is, since they were Grahams inspiration
I think Michael Parkinson is in that same conversation for the greatest.
The best talk show ever I love the graham Norton show
In my opinion, Graham Norton is the best talk show host of all time. You can always see that his guests are having a good time and feel comfortable. I think, the best example is the episode when Harrison Ford was on his show for the first time with fellow guests Jack Whitehall and Benedict Cumberbatch. As far as I know, Harrison Ford doesn't really like to do all the promotion tour stuff but on Grahams show, he really enjoyed being there.
The way a ADORE thıs man... his show has literally helped me go through my lowest points back in Venezuela, honestly to watch him handle all those guests so naturally it's just a master class. Thınk about ıt, the man lıterally buılt an entıre career just by beıng HİMSELF... I really hope to meet him ...or at least get to see him ...An absolute tresure.

Had no clue Graham Norton ever existed until moving to New Zealand. He's the best. Hands down. Craig Ferguson will always be my favorite, but nobody creates an atmosphere like Graham. He's a great straight man...in a comedic sense of course, but can pack the place up with a pithy one-liner. Always look forward to his show.
I like what Ziwe said, "I celebrate iconic people, and enable iconic people to say iconic things." Love Graham, I've started watching him with my mom back in the 90's, who also introduced me to a lot of British TV. He's such an icon, who says so many iconic things. It's pretty obvious how he gets people to embarrass themselves.

Part of it is the Pub mentality of his British guests. Telling stories about yourself that reveal your incredibly funny flaws and stupid acts gives you respect among your pub peers. It's something they take pride in owning, their own misbehavior.

Hands down the best interviewer and the best celebrity talk show. Love Graham
The best part about Graham's show is his charisma, but the 2nd part has to go to the writing team. Their content and stories they dig up is so rare that only on his show can you find it. The mark ruffalo pot story, the eddie redmayne modeling career, the michael fasbender xmen dance, etc..
My two favourite hosts. Both have such a natural warmth, wit and genuine interest in their guests.
