Even when Greece was hit hatd by the economic crisis, i never considered moving away and make use of my academic degrees. And even in hard times when i was in doubt and making comparisons, the factors that are vital in life were musch stronger from what i was missing here. Greece has thousands of islands, a beautiful mainland with mountains, a huge variety of traditions, simple welcoming people, great fresh food, weather and landscapes that soothe your spirit and soul. Hey, now that winter is approaching, could you share how you experience Crete health-wise? I live in Belgium and struggle with fibromyalgia, winter for me is a living hell. I've been to Crete for three times and I don't have to explain to you why I left my heart there. I consider relocating, but I wonder if the winters are not also cold and humid there. I'm a little anxious to take the leap, despite my intuition telling me that it would be the best for me and that I'd be able to integrate with the local people just fine!!!
Great decision you made for your life. I don't know were exactly you live in Greece but already i have you a weekend destination. Go to Epirus or Thessaly to explore the wild mountains and the awesome beaches but mostly to find people who speaks Aromanian.
Hey! You guys sound a lovely couple! Well done for your move. We are looking but have children of school age. What’s it like finding work? Also, which part did you move to?
Thank you!💙🙏 We live around Chania, Crete. We love the location, would definitely recommend it. We work online, so we don't know exactly what's available. I would recommend you to join some local Facebook groups, there are many foreigners living here with lots of different experiences, with kids too. I'm sure you'll find some useful info there. Good luck!😊

I have a question as a greek. I know many people buy cars from Bulgaria and Romania cause of the cost. But what did it cost you in terms of driving plates and taxes to bring and drive it around? Thanks
Thank you for sharing! ❤️ every country has its ups and downs, and we all have different situations. What might work for us may not be suitable for others. Can you share some of the reasons to want to leave? It might be helpful for others to know what to expect, to get a better picture.
Welcome to Greece, i hope you don't regret it! The biggest problem with my country is that rich people control everything. They control the government, the majority of the politicians, the media and as a proxy the justiciar and police enforcer system. All the other problems come from this. Unemployment, low salaries, mediocre hospitals ,bad education, huge inflation. If you have a good income and you are independent, then yes Greece is paradise. And by the way don't take the train, is a death trap!
No you are totally wrong. There are no ''rich'' people in Greece (not anymore). It's the civil servants (along with the church = another civil service!) that control everything ,that don't do anything and cost a lot of money. The biggest and ONLY problem of Greece is the huge amount of the public sector sector that controls and over-taxes everything (hence the ridiculous prices) and the PUBLIC DEBT crisis. Yes the train service is rubbish as it's another state owned company filled with corruption, unworthiness, inefficiency, laziness, mismanagement indifference.
We didn't leave the UK because of brexit. We were there before it happened 😅, so we can always go back if we decided to. We have a video here on the channel "7 reasons why we moved to Greece " where we explained what made us move here. I hope you have a great holiday here in Crete! 💙🇬🇷 Maybe you will find some inspiration here on the channel for your trip.
all of my greek friends plan to or already have moved to other countries. Life is very stressful in Greece, according to the financial times greeks are the 2nd poorest people in Europe. The salaries are low compare to the cost of living and nothing really works in this country. . The crime rate is very high, there are wildfires and floods every year and even the public transportation can be dangerous so be careful and stay safe
Thanks for watching! 💙 we covered a bit on this topic in this video⬇️ ruclips.net/video/TJFs__8RxPE/видео.html Overall, the internet here in Greece is slower than what we're used to. It really depends where you live and what type of connection you have. Our Internet is not great, but it is decent.
What about employment? Taxes? I guess living in a place with limited working opportunities, isnt the greatest option.Life is different living as a local than living as a tourist. A local faces all the drawbacks of the place.
That's true! We'll discuss more about this topic in a future video. Like everywhere you live, there are pros and cons. We'll share more about our experience and the challenges we face.
@@Sunpire Iam saying this as a local. Why dont all Greeks do not live at islands or distant picturesque villages ? You have to solve all issues so as to achieve a sustainable happy way of living.
@Sunpire thank you! You can still tell me here if you want 😉 To move to Greece is my dream for more than 10 years. Me and my girlfriend we speak perfect greek, but we live in rainy 🌧 😌 Brussels. Originally I am from Bulgaria, and she's Albanian.

If you have good money to afford a nice place to live, get a good private health insurance Greece is heaven to live. For the average working class greek guy its a total pain.
What are you doing for living? One million bright and highly educated Greeks left the country for a better life. Btw food sounds a strange reason to move to a country.
Moving for food is a very good reason as far as I'm concerned, especially if you have children. If you look at obesity rates where I live ,in the US, and the quality of our food. Our beef and chicken for example is not allowed in the EU, our food is full of preservatives and chemicals and GMO food is allowed to be sold without a label ,just to name a few things. And then there is the other side of the spectrum. Lack of food due to war ,conflicts, natural disasters, etc .
Wait until you have children and have to deal with the greek public sector and the tax services! Not to mention health issues! Then you'll run back to Romania
The sea and the sun don't define quality in life. The respect that a citizen gets from his/her country is what makes people happy and this kind of respect doesn't exist in Greece
@@Sunpire infrastructure, state of hospitals, rate of crime, bureaucracy, cost of living. It's amazing to come for a vacation, it's a shitty place to live in, especially if you depend on an underpaid job
If you're smart, you can have a great life in Greece, life expectancy is afterall one of the highest in the world, so it cannot all be that bad. And as for healthcare, at least much of it is free or affordable, and good quality, which is not always the case in most other western countries.
I have been almost 30 times in Greece, mostly in June and September. It is the most beautiful country in the world. The Greek people don't realize (or some do) that they live in Paradise. I agree with some of their opinion though. Most hospitals are above Bulgaria and Romania but not a big difference. The infrastructure is better on highways and some national roads but in towns I've seen the same level of damaged/bad roads. The low salaries are true, for example, you could earn better if you live in Bucharest vs Kavala or similar towns. The corruption, bureaucracy and taxation seems to be similar. Definitely the taxes are smaller in Bulgaria/Romania. I've heard a lot of Greek people saying that yes, when you come in vacation, Greece looks nice but when you live there is not that great. I think Greece was an example and a very good and safe country to live in, until 2005-2007 when that economical crisis hit. But when I think about it, the safety and quality of life seems to be decreasing everywhere. Just look at the West or Sweden. Would you say Paris is the same as it was in 1970-1980 or Athens or Bucharest? I think it was much safer and cleaner back then and the life was at a difference pace. If I could afford it I would not give a second thought and would move to Greece. Yes, it has its own problems (which country is perfect?) but I love the Greek people. Only one complaint to be honest: a lot of drivers will hit you on the zebra and you have to be very careful. I don't understand this, maybe someone from Greece can explain it better. Also, I've seen a lot of cars with a black plastic that you barely see the car number - in most countries the police would pull you over and take your plates. Again, not judging people, just want to understand why. Maybe there is a good reason behind this.
What do you love about Greece? Leave a comment! We're replying to all of you guys and really appreciate the feedback! ❤

Keep in mind I have a degree and experience 😅
It's true, our situations are different, what may work for us may not for everyone. I hope you have a better life there! ❤️
nice, Greece is beautiful. On the other hand moved to Romania from the UK and it is paradise love Bucovina Maramures! special place
Romania is great too, but we love the sun and the sea, so that is why we choose Greece 🇬🇷 ❤️
They're good reasons and I would do just that as well if I could. Can you talk about what you both do for living to support yourself in Greece as we know Greece has low salaries unless you work for company outside Greece
Thank you for watching our video! We will make a video about what we do for a living here in Greece in the future, and it is a great idea for a video. Thank you
Hey, now that winter is approaching, could you share how you experience Crete health-wise?
Thank you 😊 🙏. We are based in Crete 🇬🇷
If you have enough money Greece is the best place on earth!
You might be right 💙💙🙏
Great video🙂with similar reasons we planning move to malta later this year.Wishing you all the best it was right decision
Thank you! ❤️Good luck with your journey! Where are you moving from, if you don't mind?
@@Sunpire From Estonia we have here similar climate like in UK only more colder 🥶😃
Malta is nice choice ,but, greece has more opportunities than malta
Moving sounds like a good idea, then!😅 Good luck!
Good luck!😊

We want to go from Greece to Live Forever at the Castle of Vlad III... Cheers!!!
Thanks for watching!
I have a question as a greek. I know many people buy cars from Bulgaria and Romania cause of the cost. But what did it cost you in terms of driving plates and taxes to bring and drive it around? Thanks
As Greek i want to thank you for that but unfortunatelly there are many other reasons to want to Leave from Greece
Thank you for sharing! ❤️ every country has its ups and downs, and we all have different situations. What might work for us may not be suitable for others. Can you share some of the reasons to want to leave? It might be helpful for others to know what to expect, to get a better picture.
LOVE YOU PEOPLE....WELCOME...
Thank you, that is so kind from you ♥️♥️
Hermoso video! Tengo una pregunta, una pareja puede vivir en Grecia con 3000dls mensuales?
Thank you! That is a great question, please have a look on our last video where we talk about the minimum money you need to live in greece 😊🤗
Goof choice guys like orthodox people better to live in greece we have common culture than to live in UK its really better wish you good luck
Thank you 😊 🙏
Welcome to Greece, i hope you don't regret it!
Thank you! ❤️ It's true, this happens in so many countries, is really upsetting.
Good move guys
Thank you 😊 🙏
Hope Brexit Britain didn't make you leave? I'm English btw.
I'm also off to Crete in a couple of weeks for a holiday 😎
We didn't leave the UK because of brexit. We were there before it happened 😅, so we can always go back if we decided to. We have a video here on the channel "7 reasons why we moved to Greece " where we explained what made us move here.
I hope you have a great holiday here in Crete! 💙🇬🇷 Maybe you will find some inspiration here on the channel for your trip.
@@Sunpire Hi. Yes, I watched it as well. All the best.
How is the healthcare? I heard it is "average" at best
So far we had a good experience! Amalia ended up in the emergency room. We have a video about this if you want to check it out!
all of my greek friends plan to or already have moved to other countries.
Thank you very much for watching and for sharing your thoughts 😊
I agree
What do you guys do for a living? How do you make money please?
Thank you for watching! We will make a video about that in the future.
What about employment tho?
Jobs suck in Greece
We work online 🤗
How is the internet over there?
Thanks for watching! 💙 we covered a bit on this topic in this video⬇️
ruclips.net/video/TJFs__8RxPE/видео.html
Overall, the internet here in Greece is slower than what we're used to. It really depends where you live and what type of connection you have. Our Internet is not great, but it is decent.
@@Sunpire ok Thankyou, I’ll check it out 🥰
No problem! ❤️There's also some more info in the Cost of living video! We discussed prices and options for Internet here in Crete.
Love you guys😍😘😗😙😚😀😎😂🤣😃😗😙😘😍
❤️❤️
What about employment? Taxes? I guess living in a place with limited working opportunities, isnt the greatest option.Life is different living as a local than living as a tourist. A local faces all the drawbacks of the place.
That's true! We'll discuss more about this topic in a future video. Like everywhere you live, there are pros and cons. We'll share more about our experience and the challenges we face.
@@Sunpire Iam saying this as a local. Why dont all Greeks do not live at islands or distant picturesque villages ? You have to solve all issues so as to achieve a sustainable happy way of living.
I think you are right ✅️
❤❤
🥰🥰
🎉🎉🎉
The problem is the work and the salary there...😢 What do you work there both of you?
Thank you for watching! We'll cover this in a future video! ❤️
@StuVideff Of course! We're working online as freelancers offering different services.
I hope you guys will make your dream come true!❤️
@Sunpire Thanks, we can't work anything at all online ;( I am trying since 2012... nothing till now. 💻🤷♂️ #frustrated #stilltrying
Maybe some other opportunities will come up for you in the future! 🙏

It's hot, just the way we like it 💙💙. Maybe a bit too hot 🔥 🤣🤣🤣
I was mooving from N.Y..i came from hell to heaven
How was the moving process for you?
If you have good money to afford a nice place to live, get a good private health insurance Greece is heaven to live. For the average working class greek guy its a total pain.
Yes, you are right!
wait until you have to interact with the greek state/bureaucracy....you'll leave running.
We will see 😊👍🏻. Thank you for your tip

Thank you!
Thank you, rich couple, for spending your money here! We will continue to pretend that your life style is greek!
We are not rich by any means 😂😂, maybe a bit in the other spectrum. But if I were rich, I would definitely spend my money here in Greece!
@@SunpireAs a Greek thank you 🙏
Thank you 😊 🙏 💓
What are you doing for living? One million bright and highly educated Greeks left the country for a better life. Btw food sounds a strange reason to move to a country.
We will make a video in the near future with what we do for a living 😊. Food might be a strange reason for some, but for us, it is an important one...
If you want to move on Athens, you must earn 1400 euros / month at least per person to live a normal life in a good area
Is it that expensive?
No , it's Very common - logical 😉
I'm just surprised that it is really that expensive 😳
Wait until you have children and have to deal with the greek public sector and the tax services! Not to mention health issues! Then you'll run back to Romania
Every country has pros and cons
The sea and the sun don't define quality in life. The respect that a citizen gets from his/her country is what makes people happy and this kind of respect doesn't exist in Greece
Thank you for sharing!
I see cheese 🧀
🤣🤣
I see cheese, I comment 😂😂
🤣🤣
Hello. Soon I come back. My county. I am uk I don't like
Is hard to adapt to uk...
Number one reasons tax dodgers
You ll quickly change your mind once you realise where you have come
You think? Why is that?
@@Sunpire infrastructure, state of hospitals, rate of crime, bureaucracy, cost of living. It's amazing to come for a vacation, it's a shitty place to live in, especially if you depend on an underpaid job
If you're smart, you can have a great life in Greece, life expectancy is afterall one of the highest in the world, so it cannot all be that bad. And as for healthcare, at least much of it is free or affordable, and good quality, which is not always the case in most other western countries.
@@georgeloy you probably live in a different Greece
