On the contrary, I am many years beyond being a young man and after the last few years of following Dr Peterson, I am all the better for it. There's still plenty of scope for becoming a better version of myself, but if any younger folk can grasp the opportunity to listen, read and learn from this man, take it now and contribute to making the world a better place. Hi Jordan. I attended your show in Philadelphia and found it profoundly helpful to my mental well being and to settle some of my own objections to traditional christian thought. I especially enjoyed when you spoke about the voice in your head that guides you as being divine in nature. To that effect, I would be enthused to see you have a discussion with Bernardo Kastrup, a modern day idealist who believes that reality is a purely mental phenomenon. Kastrup also has written a book called " Jugian metaphysics" which is an excellent read and totally applicable to what you are speaking on. Cheers!
I live (by financial necessity) with extended family who are the most unbelievably dysfunctional ppl I've ever met. Constantly screaming at each other and everyone else, disruptive to the neighborhood, and threatening daily with violent behaviors. They've broken windows and walls and hoarded so much junk the house and barn are stuffed. Cops, Adult Protection, DHS and CPS have taken no action when called. It's literally made my life hell. How do you NOT HATE in this situation?
I love everything about this and all he ever has to say. I try to apply these words of wisdom and many other morals and values thar I take from his content. Yet i find myself unable to put them into action more often than not. Although i feel a disappointment with myself for possibly not fully grasping the ideas, values, concepts, morals, etc I will not be swayed away from my goal of self value and desire to look in the mirror and be proud of who i am. I'd like to be able to one day personally thank you and say I achieved what i set out to do I love who i have fought to become and can finally hold my self up and others burdens as well. I know this isn't what was intended for this topic, but what is one to "do not do what you hate" if what you hate is 1) mandatory to do by the government, and 2) it is so contrary to your nature that it's where many of ones neurosis' stem from?
In 2010, when I was all twisted up in lies and deceit, I chose never to lie again for any reason to anybody. I got humbled. I now pay consequences as I go on the spot. This causes me to not do something that I would feel ashamed for doing. I make better choices, say sorry more, and people trust me. I kept searching out the truth, and I found Jesus. It was easy to follow Him because He is the truth, the way, and the life.

Some of the humblest kindest people I know are humanists who don't believe in Jesus, just saying, and yes I'm a Christian. I don't think believing in Jesus is a necessary prerequisite to ascertaining truth. You can live the gospels teaching & be a shining example without submitting to biblical texts.
