Great engine in my opinion. Im still running mines with no issues, over 1.5 million on mines with only one overhaul. I got the maintenance history. I read all the horror reviews online, people at the truck auction telling me not to buy it but listening to your videos is what made me decide to place that bid. I been in business ever since.
I got the same engine with 1619463 miles on it I been having it for 7 years already I bought it with 900154 miles since I bought it I had put like around $20,000 and haven’t rebuild the engine yet all that money I put on it I just replaced old parts and I pull heavy loads going up hills is no problem and im very happy with my truck and yes it’s my first truck and only one that I have but im looking to buy another one just like this one Freigtgliner Columbia 2007 Mercedes Benz engine
Man this video gave me a lot of confidence in the dump truck I was on the fence about. I’d like to get a little info on where you got the in frame done so maybe I can have a lead on future repair. I test drove the one in question yesterday and I was really impressed in pulling power.
I have an 07 Columbia with a mbe 4000 in it. I’m having issues pulling hills with her. Shop says I have a problem with the number fuel injector. Hoping it’ll fix my problem
They are pretty good engines. They don't pull as good as just a Detroit but they are quieter and better on fuel 😎 . I had a 2007 that was great. They are lighter too.
Got a 05 columbia only engine work I've done in 3 yrs new water separator mount new pulleys and belts and camshaft sensor no leaks just would like to upgrade turbo to get more power
I have 2004 almost 1 million miles and still running like a champion on my 10 year I have it only change the water pump and injector seal easy job did it my self only I have to said is great engine will buy it again no question🙏👍 noo overhaul yet mind is the one with no egr

That Mercedes’ engine is great as long as you take care of it I have a 06 451000 miles no motor work what’s so ever knock on hard wood

If you don't have a mechanic that's certified by Mercedes to work on these engines don't get it. Buy a 12.7 Detroit

Change fuel filters & injectors. If your getting 5mpg that's normal.
8500 is extremely cheap wow and also you don’t have to deal with the complex emissions on that older engine

Mbe3000 is basically Pre emission D13. Go to freightliner.
