  • Just helping move this car from the most recent owner to its new owner. got a call from the guy that is back east was interested in this car and wanted a pre-purchase inspection report done. So I made the appointment did the inspection gave him the report and he negotiated purchasing the car from the owner. That's one of the things that I do. after the purchase he asked me to pick the car up give it another going over a little bit closer and another detailed report based on the notes that I gave him of doing the visual. Now it's ready to be picked up and it'll go on close transport back to him. This is what I do for people and I try to do the best I can and be very clear in reporting what I see. Hope you enjoy the video. Even though I kind of flubbed up at the turn around at the other end and traffic was there I think I still made it!

Spring of 1969 I bought one of these. A Sierra gold 2 door hardtop, Adobe beige roof with 31,000 miles, Immaculate car without a spec of rust. Untouched. Flawless. Beautiful. The clock even worked.

Boy does this bring back memories. I had one for one year in my senior year (1967) of high school. It wasn't all stock though. It was converted to a Hurst 3 speed on the floor, dual exhaust, original 283 punched out to 301, dual points, and original dual exhaust, Corvette valve covers, a Carter 4-barrel, standard breaks, standard hub caps with no spinners, window flaps a chrome air filter. The radio was standard with an added reverb. The bumper had the rubber bullets on it. The car was original red with a white roof, but I had the roof painted red like the rest of the car. The interior was all original and in mint condition. It was a BelAir 2 door hard top convertible.

    Great car! Congratulations!
In the mid '60s, my dad had a '57 Chevy model 210, 4-door sedan, 6 cyl, 3-speed, with exactly the same color combination - sierra gold & indian ivory!
It was a basic car, without any power assistance. That is where I first learned to drive at age 14 - how to use the clutch in consonance with the gear lever, shifting between 1st and reverse. The enormous but not heavy non-assisted steering wheel took several turns to make a curve or parking. Great memories!

Identical to the one I had in high school up until the mid 1990's. Mine didn't have the spinners nor the bumper bullets. Mine also had a 1 piece front bumper and an old timer told me that was the California version. Those buttons on the seat were rather uncomfortable because they would press against my back. Thank god there's enough pieces these days to make a complete 57 Chevy.

It's not really first series bumper ends. Back up lights were simply optional.

First series had a small "hump" on the top-center. Second series had no hump, third series had no hump and the lower recessed area that had the bar down the middle on first and second series eliminated the bar. Yes, backup lights were optional on all three series. You could not "order" what series bumper ends you wanted. They were simply changes that came in time and the third series was a later replacement end available from Chevrolet

What is the asking price? And, why did the previous couple who owned it for 5 years want to sell? Thanks.

WHY was it for sale? This can be a personal situation whereby I will not pry into an owners life to get that answer. If I have a car for sale I will ALWAYS include the price. If I POST a video of a car that is not mine, I don't have the right to post the sale price nor the asking price if I know either of them. Basically, it is not for me to know. Although I too would LIKE to know! I do however have a 57 BelAir in ALMOST but not quite this condition that is for sale, $65K is what the owner has given me permission to publish.

I care more about price information than I do matching numbers.. I loose tremendous respect for any sale's attempt and price is not mentioned, even if a car has been sold? it's beneficial for the consumers to keep a history of what they see various car's sell for/

I do too-- but when I APPRAISE a car for a client, the appraisal value is property of the client. Not for the public. If I am selling a car, I ALWAYS post the price if it is MY car. I am 100% opposed to sellers not posting asking prices.
