Glad you enjoyed this so much, because this is what this band is really known for. Immolation Of Night kinda serves as their fun ass-beating song, especially in a live setting, but by-and-large Invent’s major draw is their ability to write such emotionally resonant and comforting music. I will fend with my life the idea that their ability to write ambience and atmosphere into metalcore is absolutely unmatched, especially when considering how technical and chunky their music is, and as a result their sound just feels all encompassing. Their songs always feel delivered with so much purpose and emotion, and that for me makes them the best band in the scene atm. Absolutely no one else absorbs my entire soul into their sound like they do.
I am of the belief that everything they have released has been absolutely perfect (their 2016 album Stillworld with their previous vocalist is currently my favorite, at least until Heavener drops), but I cannot recommend you check out their 2021 ep “The Sun Sleeps, As If It Never Was” enough. It’s only 2 full songs and an interlude, but they treat it as a big song with a music video for the whole thing that is quite bluntly absolutely fucking stunning. Their ability to deliver such emotional music is in full display on that ep.

Cloud Cascade and Monarch off of their album Greyview are two of my personal favorites. They are also masterpieces IMO 😅Would love to see you give them a go, I know you won't be disappointed!

Fun fact about their new album, Landon Tewers (The Plot in You’s vocalist) was in the studio for almost a week working on it with them.
Great reaction, I would say listen to their EP The Sun Sleeps, As If It Never Was. It’s an incredible EP. Dark is another must listen as well.

I’m so glad you started adding the extra bits of analysis to the end of the songs and breaking down each element and instrument, I love listening to you talk about music haha

That’s very kind of you share Scott. I’m very pleased to hear you enjoyed it. Takes some extra time and effort on my part but I do think it adds a bit more relevant value to the video. I will try to keep that going 🤘🏻

Invent Animate has been promising ever since their first release.
Everchanger and Stillworld were with their founding vocalist, and then they took a long hiatus before they found their current guy.
Stillworld is a metalcore staple of the last 10 years, would love to see you react to anything off that.

Really enjoyed your analysis man! Immolation of night is such an outlier to their overall sound so hearing it as your first is a blessing and a curse forsure. They will always be my favorite band of all time and I think you’ll understand why as you listen to more.
Top picks for next tracks to checkout would be:
    As if it Never Was
    Dark
    Cloud Cascade
    Secret Sun
    Indigo
Literally everything in their discography is amazing tho, you can’t go wrong 🤙🏻

Cloud Cascade, Shade Astray, Secret Sun are all amazing. Actually all their music is amazing. Discovered them when they opened for ERRA last year and they quickly became my favorite band of this year so far

Dude I enjoyed this so much. I love seeing your genuine reaction. This is my favorite band, and you did them justice with this. I appreciate the video! Hope to see more!
The new album is out, so I'm looking forward to watching all your reactions to their songs! I've only listened to it once, but I can say that it might be their best work yet. Coming from a dude that's been listening to them for 8 years.

@@SteveOGRock Oh yeah dude! Naturehold got it's "hold" on me. It's probably going to be hard for you to go back and listen. The production is quite different in their early years. But the thing they've always had going for them is the heavy ambience.

    Really cool! 👍
These guys seem to use a technique I imagined a long time ago - one that fills in the harmonic overtones to each chord to make a wider fuller sound.
Hadn't seen implemented anywhere until I heard David Townsend's Hyperdrive. To describe what I think they do: Sounds resembling white noise (like cymbals, heavily distorted guitars etc) they apply an equalizer on it to emphasize the overtones of the current harmonics they are going for. This means they can hit all the higher overtones they want to create a "complete" sound unlike anything else you can hear.
If I listen to music on low volume, while hearing white noise that _almost_ drowns out the song (like in the shower where I discovered it), I hallucinate music with this character, and it sounds awesome. My brain fills in the missing information with the "optimal" sounds.
This might be the subtle thing they did to elevate this song beyond normal into the masterpiece category. 🤔

Wow. I don’t have much to say. This was beautiful. I need to dive a little deeper, but part of me wants to wait for your next video of theirs so we can go on this journey together 😁

"Could this be a masterpiece?" Yes, yes it could. Always love to hear you break down a piece like this!
Shade Astray is even better than this one in my humble opinion. The Sun Sleeps EP (which is basically a single 10-min song) is well worth checking out too.

100% agree, but IMHO Elysium is (up to now) their best song, so now you will discover only stuff somewhere in between "Delicious" and "Masterpiece". ;) I'd recommend to go on with the "The Sun Sleeps" E.P.
