About the Mars/Sequid stuff: Sequids cant take over Martians because of their shapechanging abilities, which is why they were a safe slave race to use for the Martians. Without a host, the Sequids cant form their hivemind. This is why in Season 1, it was such a big deal that humans were on Mars, them being viable hosts for Sequids put all of Mars at risk. Mark manages to convince the Martians to let them go/they escape or whatever. Shapesmith is a Martian who, for reasons not yet shown, knocks out the astronaut Livingston and secretly takes his place to go to earth. This leaves Livingston behind on Mars, and in the final episode of the first season, we see a Sequid controlled Livingston take over Mars, being able to form a hivemind because they have found a host in the human astronaut. Wether or not Shapesmith left Livingston behind on purpose or not and what his motivations were will be shown later, but fact of the matter is that him taking Livingston's place on the shuttle did cause to the Sequid takeover.

The first season was released 2 years ago already, this was not the plot point that interested most people, and most of them did not rewatch it. Give them a bit of slack.

Pretty clearly? The only piece of information on him being a Martian was the changing flag on his suit. And the sequids abilities have not been clarified either. It’s pretty easier to have confusions for a show that has been out for over 2 years
Like Eve’s dad kinda. In the barest sense of the word has *something* of a point. But it’s layered in his own issues and dickery that nobody is going to listen to it. Like something that just occurred to me. That fountain Eve made for that park. What about the plumping it takes? The water? Like sure she made some for it to be made with. But how does it cycle? Like I’m not architect but I’m pretty sure fountains like that don’t actually use the same water and filter it like a swimming pool. They just kinda drain it out and siphon new water.
