Picked up the Bauer miter gauge this morning. It's dead accurate out of the box. Only thing I don't like are the plastic knobs, but they do have metal threads. It's not a top end Incra or JessEm, but for $45, it compares well with units in $100 price range.
I work at a HF in the Southeast. Something tells me there's a sale going on from 1/21 to1/26 where everybody gets 30% off (ITC 40%) as-is and clearance items.
Man, that might change my mind about that stack of $99 band saws they have on clearance. I was holding out for the new one with the rip fence, but for $60, maybe I can improvise.
@ My advice would be to make a day of going to every HF location in your area and checking the as-is table at each. Predator generators and Fortress air compressors get returned all the time. Also keep an eye out after big storms when there are widespread power outages. Everybody and their brother buys a generator and everybody's brother returns one after the power comes back on haha -> yay restock fees on generators or as I call it a 20% tool rental charge!!!!!
4:00 - dammit. I already had my eye on the floor stand drill press, waiting for a sale. This is some excellent specs for the money. 1 horse and 8 inches of resaw! I'm officially excited.
That Herc jigsaw is tempting. I got a Black and Decker one 20 years ago as a housewarming gift, and the knob that holds the shoe angle loosens up as you use the tool. I think if I had one that didn't suck I'd use it a lot more.
16:38 reminds me of the black and decker drills that everybody used to have…. My wife’s aunt that passed away had one, my father-in-law had one, my dad, my grandpa.
Tip. Do you have an angle grinder and it’s making noises in the head. Take it apart and put some fresh grease in it. Worked for a Drill Master brand. Sounded like new afterwards. Not much grease was in it.
The next parking lot sale is March. Typically retail is dead in January/February plus very few people buy tools in the middle of winter. Once the weather warms up in March or April people start doing more projects and buy more tools.
That's probably why HF has had January sales. I've been to HF when they are not having a sale, mine and one or two cars outside; 4-5 in the employee section. Lowes and HD have a couple of good ,but limited, tools sales a year; at HF it's a saleabration every month.
Who cares about the brushed or brushless honestly, they work the same way regardless, just find it funny these companies charge more to take the brushes out LOL.
Honestly didn't know you could negotiate on clearance items. I will be doing this now! I know a large majority of the employees at both my local harbor freight stores. I always wait until I see two purple stickers on an open box item, and if it's something I want will talk to them into taking another 20%-30% off. Best haul to date was an open box fortress truck bed compressor with .2 hours on it for $700.
Thanks, Jeff! Awesome to see the Jig-saw, but dang if I'm STILL waiting for a proper inflator and USB port/110v AC adapter for the Hercules 20V system... apparently it's good enough for Bauer, but not for the guys that invested in the top-tier. 😕
Same for the radio. Bauer gets one. I don't understand why Hercules doesn't have one. It's a radio. It's not like the jigsaw where it needs to feel good in hand. Just do like chevy and put good speaker in the Bauer case with a Hercules sticker on it and mark it up $20. Plus since radios don't have brushes they can put the word "Brushless" on the side so it'll get the 5 year warranty as well.
Last week I was driving down a country road, heading to visit family, and almost ran over a Reciprocating Saw laying in the road. All I saw was the bright red, so wasn't sure of the brand. Flipped around and parked but couldn't get out to it before I watched a car run it over... turns out its a Bauer, and still intact after getting run over. Haven't put a battery on it yet, but would not be surprised if it still runs. 👀
I bought the corded Bosch 25+ years ago and I love that jigsaw. It’s so smooth, quiet, and dependable! Even has a special white painted metal case with a commemorative seal on the lid.
Would be great if they'd come out with a worm drive circular saw....too late in my case I bought the Skil Worm Drive, but I bet a Hercules Worm Drive corded saw would be a hit, if they kept the price reasonable, I think the Skil worm drives are around $130-160 depending on where you find them.
There are 3 Harbor Freight stores near where I live and none of them have the 1000# hydraulic lift table. Would have bought one if they were actually in stock lol.
I got one back in November. Works great except don’t overfill the hydraulic fluid because it will leak out of the plug if you fill it like the instructions say.
Bought it a while back, it's helped me save my back. Plus the 1000lbs cart raises to the hight of a 4x4 f150. It's been a good purchase for me, about 4 years and no issues.
$80 for the jigsaw is a really good price. Very tempting. I have a Hercules battery but no charger or tools. I'm not sure why I do but I might as well put it to work.
I miss the days of inexpensive, US made tools. I have an electric 3/8" drill & an electric jigsaw from 1970's K-Mart. Both MADE IN USA! And, they still work like new.
I got an email today that the 5x10 trailer was not stocked at my nearest HF but it was available to order for later pick up. I've been waiting for that bear assembly video. It looks like it takes at least double the assembly time of the 4x8 models.
We’re still working on the video because I want to use it actually towing, but it’s not gonna be a detailed step-by-step. Harbor Freight already put one out that’s pretty good.
Thanks for the updates; I have a couple of the ICON LED lights, as well as the Braun one, but the new color Icon ones still do NOT have the head swivel like the Braun??. That is a REALLY big feature for the Braun!
Does anybody remember the original 6061 Al/Mg Maglites? They came in colors and I had to have red one. I haven't had one since the loose xenon bulb socket era. I hate black flash lights. I always use some bright neon or reflective tape on the handle so I can find them.
That's a great price for that press brake. Most I've seen have been $300+. I ended up building my own, but had there been one for $160 back then I would have bought it.
I have the m12 Fuel barrel grip jig saw. I won’t use anything else, hands down the best jig saw I’ve used. It’s light, compact, easy to use, and very powerful.
I know it’s been awhile since I’ve watched a den of tools vid and the bear was great but when I pictured what you really looked like I mean this is exactly what I pictured 😂
Yeah about dem welds... When I worked as a GSE mechanic, the weld that holds the tow pintle completely failed on a APU. Had to call in a welder to do the repair. It was a clean break. The wled had not penetration. But it did look good... Until it failed. Just glad that it did not damage a Plane, or even worse hurt someone when it did fail.
Well...i keep hoping for a track saw. I have a gut feeling that might be outside of the range of what they will come out with. IE....its too specialized.😔
can confirm on that 2.5ah herc batteries, our store has probably 10 of these in baggies with the 25 price on them. check the store table with the returns and refurbs.
My store had those months ago. They sat on the table for weeks. Didn’t sell. Price was only a couple bucks less than the ones in box on the shelves. One day they were gone. Doubt they sold them.
HF sells Hercules Metal Cutting saw blades, a 14" 66 tooth 1800 RPM max for $70, a 12" 60 tooth 2000 RPM max for $60 and a 10" 50 tooth 2500 RPM max for $55, yet they don't sell a saw for it. Northern Tool used to sell an Ironton 14" 1450 rpm saw but they discontinued it (4-3/4" round and 4-1/8" square stock capacity). Evolution EVOSAW380 is normally $479, recently $299 but sold out.
My friend knows the store managers who run our local HF. They're friends of his from previous jobs. One of them likes to joke with us when my friend and I go in there shopping. He's always asking where our shopping cart is since we tend to go for only a few items. We always tell him next time. I always utilize the returns table and the back corner of the store when I can. I've found a lot of good deals. That's how I got a few of my drill batteries and chargers. 😁
Picked up the Hercules jigsaw today, they had to go in the back and get it since it said available in my store online, haven't used it yet, looks nice, not sure if I'll like it over my m18 yet or not. Was stoked to get it finally though.
"...I've done stuff with wood, I did more when I was younger...", Oh Man Bear did you ever hit the nail on the head! I hope you're teaching the kids, (more like yours and Mrs. Bear's young adults), that time goes by so fast. As far as tools ... buy once... cry once.... you can't go wrong.
Been wondering when HD will be putting their November December holiday tool accessories on clearance. Anyone out there seen any clearance on this items?
I've been thinking about the Warrior corded drill. Didn't you once tell us about a welder you know who had a bunch of Chicago Electric angle grinders set up with all his specialty wheels and a pro grade angle grinder with his general purpose wheel? It was worth it to him because just grabbing the grinder he needed at anytime meant he could work faster and make more money. Would something like that with drills work for a custom cabinet maker? Have multiple budget drills loaded with the different kinds of bits you need so that instead of wasting time switching bits you just grab the drill with the bit you need at the moment?
I’ve never seen that set up, but it seems like a fantastic idea. If you were constantly using different drillbits, I would much rather have them chucked up in inexpensive drills for each one will only get run for a fraction amount of the time they should probably last a good long time during that.
I just bought the Hercules jigsaw last night 1/16/25, and I only paid $55 as an ITC member and a coupon $25 off spending $100+... I haven't used it yet, it's heavy but I can feel the quality in hand.
That Green Icon light looks real good. I am saving up for a Predator 13,000W tri-fuel generator. So...buy the carry on trailer, and spend 1/2 a day welding the welds together LOL. I wonder if they'll come out with other trailers based off that same design. Other than having to assemble the dang thing it seems like it might be a good very light duty trailer for my needs. It would be good for trips to the lumber yard, its nice to pickup lumber and load it on a trailer and just park the trailer where I'm working and leave it and use the materials off the trailer as needed, rather than having to unload it and find a place to store it LOL. I know they have a bunch of accessories listed for those trailers on the website, but I don't think any of them are available yet. I ordered the Bauer 3,000PSI electric pressure washer last week and used the 15% off coupon, and shipping was only $7...cheaper than driving to the store for it LOL. So instead of the $350 price tag I paid about $298 plus shipping. I have an AR Blue Clean pressure washer but its only a 1,800PSI model, and doesn't quite have enough power to run my surface cleaner. The AR Blue Clean one works great for washing vehicles since it has lower pressure, but for cleaning the concrete patio and carport the higher pressure will be nice.
You didn't even mention the more interesting aspect of the bandsaw and that's the 8 inch re-saw capacity. Almost all of the lower priced 14in bandsaws max out at 6 inches (including Griz, Powermatic, Jet, etc). I have a well sorted 14in Rigid, but can imagine this as a secondary bandsaw for wider blades and 2 extra inches of cut capacity.
HF got 2 of the Hercules 20V Jigsaws in today. I ghot one. Very Nice! HF has a $10off coup for $50 or more today. First straight cut was flawless at a 25" cut.
Any word on the Dayton pinch weld jack adapter? I think you (or another tool authority) said at SEMA that they were projecting a December release date.
I live in North east North Carolina, and I tried to get that yukon cabinet several weeks ago and there were none within 200 miles of me.... including Virginia
I have the Milwaukee jig saw. You cant even make a slow cut without the blade bending and not making a 90° cut. I have an old blue chicago electric jig saw from 10 years ago that cuts way better. Some of those old chicago electric tools were really good tools "corded".
So Ive seen this suggestion about getting know the store manager at HF, but whats their turnover like there? I'd hate to get to the know them better than get excited about the possibility of a deal, then get told "Jeff left last week" 🙄
I agree. Our harbor freight staff rotates out as fast as their drills can turn. I quit getting to know them. I'm polite and cordial but that's as far as I go.
With the artic blast coming down beginning next week, I'm betting there won't be a parking lot sale. With temps down to single digits and negative wind chills, wouldn't surprise me to see HF wait.
A good jigsaw (and blade selection) is one of the handiest tools you can own. Super handy around the home. The Herc looks like a bargain! And a 5 year warranty to boot!!!
Keep up the great videos! Do you know how to make suggestions to HF for new products? Take a look at the Pelican Air 1615 case. Law Enforcement and Military personnel use these like crazy. Can't touch these cases for less than $350+. If Apache made these and priced them around $175-$200, stores would be sold out all the time
They have a contact us form on the website. I've just labeled them as product suggestion. I'm thinking if they are smart , they have a file of them sorted out. Maybe if they get enough, they might look into it.. My problem, I already bought something else about 2yr before. The always seem behind the curve.w
I've been using table saws for nearly 20 years and still have no idea why I'd ever want a miter gauge for one. Yet every saw seems to come with a crappy one and most brands also sell at least one better one. I know several things that you could use a miter gauge for. But all of them can be done safer and easier with other tools that you almost certainly already have if you're considering spending any money on an upgraded miter gauge.
I'd love to get to know the manager at my local store to finagle a deal now and again. Always new faces and they don't seem to last more than a month or two.
@tsl7881 here's hoping. And a speed selector. The 900 in-lbs. Is good. But speed selector would be nice to limit the ft lbs one applies to different tasks.
One thing I want to check or hear about on the Hercules Jig Saw is have you actually inserted a blade and how easy is it? How well does it hold onto the blade? the reason I bring that up is I have the Bauer Corded jig saw and it's almost impossible to get a blade to stay in it. It's a combination of issues. 1) The collet (or whatever you call the thing that holds the blade) it has to be twisted to accept a blade. SO I've got to get my sausage fingers into that tiny little space and twist the collet then use the other hand to insert the blade. BUT that's not all. 2) The orbital mechanism sticks out way too far, even when it's on the farthest back setting. It literally covers up 1/2 of the collet space to insert the blade. SO you end up with this strange procedure where you hold the collet open by twisting it (it's spring loaded) then you have to insert the blade at a 45 degree angle to miss the orbital wheel, then push the orbital wheel backwards with the blade, then you have to provide upward force to get the blade fully seated in the collet and ONLY THEN can you release the collet. But don't get too excited.....you may not have seated the blade deep enough for the collet to hold it. SO you have to shove the blade up even harder for the collet to twist enough to lock the blade in place. Then once you think you're finished, you're not. Pull down on the blade with some significant force of just your hands and you'll likely pull the blade out requiring a repeat of the entire process because while you thought the blade was up deep enough into the collet for it to hold onto it, it's often not deep enough and when you finally get it in and locked, you're likely VERY frustrated. Then you watch a video on how easy and almost trivial it is to change the blade on other jig saws and you want to throw the whole mess into the trash. And I'm not even make any of this crap up. SO if the Herc is anything like this. HARD PASS
Some of the hercules 2000 lumen cordless worklights just went on clearance last pricing event and I am looking forward to getting one on the upcoming liquidation
That would give them a way to clear out all the open box returns from Christmas
Man, that might change my mind about that stack of $99 band saws they have on clearance. I was holding out for the new one with the rip fence, but for $60, maybe I can improvise.
My god I hope ur not lying I wanna buy a fortress and a predator!
If this is a lie, it is just mean and nasty. **marks calendar**
@ My advice would be to make a day of going to every HF location in your area and checking the as-is table at each. Predator generators and Fortress air compressors get returned all the time. Also keep an eye out after big storms when there are widespread power outages. Everybody and their brother buys a generator and everybody's brother returns one after the power comes back on haha
-> yay restock fees on generators or as I call it a 20% tool rental charge!!!!!
You've been crushing it with new videos. Glad you're feeling better!
Thanks and I know it sounds stupid to say, but I feel pretty good about feeling good as well 😊
Jeff you are the best at this! Keep on keeping on.
Thank you, Jeff! I've heard about some of these, but not all. I appreciate you digging deep and showing all of the new tools. 😃😃😃❤❤❤
I still have a couple!!
Harbor Freight rules!!!! I just had one open up in my town. Jeff, my daughters and I still miss the bear 🐻.
is there anything nicer than a brand new HF? New one opened in Novemberish nearby. Love going there.
I think every Halloween he should put on show in a bear suit .
@ You hit the nail right on the head. That's an awesome idea. Jeff in a bear suit would work....
I use the tumbler for brass. works awesome! water, stainless pins, and a few drops of dawn dish soap.
Missed the best part of the bandsaw the guides look like carter style ball bearings
The store here in Butte is looking almost finished and nice and large !
Tip. Do you have an angle grinder and it’s making noises in the head. Take it apart and put some fresh grease in it. Worked for a Drill Master brand. Sounded like new afterwards. Not much grease was in it.

I had posted on the Facebook den of tools page, that one of the managers told me about 30 or 40% off of the clearance table and returns this month.
I snatched a 3/8 cordless 20v impact on clearance for 29 bucks! Not brushless but couldn’t pass it up for 30 bucks
Who cares about the brushed or brushless honestly, they work the same way regardless, just find it funny these companies charge more to take the brushes out LOL.

I wanted those hercules batteries but the cloestest store to me that has it is 90 minutes away.

Awesome to see the Jig-saw, but dang if I'm STILL waiting for a proper inflator and USB port/110v AC adapter for the Hercules 20V system... apparently it's good enough for Bauer, but not for the guys that invested in the top-tier. 😕

Interestingly I have that exact same jigsaw. It’s fantastic, and I was using it just last weekend.
I have one too, great saw!
@@agrivere5494i wonder if it’s worth anything with the fancy case and the same seal is on the saw so you can’t swap it out with another one.
Really want to see the hercules rear handle saw too. Would love to see TTC test it and compare it to the dewalt.

1000lb hydraulic table cart is also on clearance for 319.97 and has been for a while

$80 for the jigsaw is a really good price. Very tempting. I have a Hercules battery but no charger or tools. I'm not sure why I do but I might as well put it to work.
I bought the tumbler just for cleaning brass and it works fantastic for that.
I miss the days of inexpensive, US made tools. I have an electric 3/8" drill & an electric jigsaw from 1970's K-Mart. Both MADE IN USA! And, they still work like new.
0:25 I need a barrel grip.

Sounds as bad as a home gamer welding on thick metal with a Tit 125.
I’ll need to start resawing hardwood in this next year. If I can get that Bauer 14” for $400 that’s awesome
Well...i keep hoping for a track saw. I have a gut feeling that might be outside of the range of what they will come out with. IE....its too specialized.😔
Bear have seen skill and Delta at Walmart they also have released more of the hyperstack. 3 drawer tote and base magnet and bins

the new drywall screwgun + collated attachment is a great new tool add
Oh no.... I am addicted to the hercules line.... Must. Watch.

Good to see your feeling bettter. Happy Trails
@@philshock3805 would love to see them add a vertical bandsaw capable of cutting metal and wood.
HF got 2 of the Hercules 20V Jigsaws in today. I ghot one. Very Nice! HF has a $10off coup for $50 or more today. First straight cut was flawless at a 25" cut.
Hello everyone. Jeff when is harbor fright coming out with a track saw?. I would like to see that one.
I don’t know. I’ve been pet staring them for years and I know they’ve been looking at it, but I don’t know when one is gonna get released.
I’ve been waiting for one from them for a long time. When it comes out, it will be an instant purchase.
Two months after I buy one somewhere else.
Any word on the Dayton pinch weld jack adapter? I think you (or another tool authority) said at SEMA that they were projecting a December release date.
Yeah, I saw it at the show, but I haven’t heard anything since
@@denoftools Thanks Bear, sounds good. Stay warm, next week's gonna suck they say.
I’m waiting for the metallic green Daytona jack to hit my local HF..
Great video!! Any updates of the rear handle circular saw?
Not yet
Thanks for the heads-up
Thanks, Bear
gotta have barrel grip jig saw.
I live in North east North Carolina, and I tried to get that yukon cabinet several weeks ago and there were none within 200 miles of me.... including Virginia
Dont tell me i need to take my 3/8 hercules ratchets back that its about to be a brushless drop😮
I have the Milwaukee jig saw. You cant even make a slow cut without the blade bending and not making a 90° cut.
I have an old blue chicago electric jig saw from 10 years ago that cuts way better. Some of those old chicago electric tools were really good tools "corded".
Man, I've been checking almost daily for this Herc jigsaw to release. Picking one up tomorrow (assuming they are in stock).
Oh man I could put the 12 in press brake to use in our shop!
My name's Griffin too! I've only ever met 2 others.
The HF in my town has had the same couple of managers for a few years now. I definitely speak to them whenever I see them.
With the artic blast coming down beginning next week, I'm betting there won't be a parking lot sale. With temps down to single digits and negative wind chills, wouldn't surprise me to see HF wait.
The dewalt jigsaw I have is a good one but it loves batteries. It eats them like candy. I would try a different one.
Thank you.
Have you heard anything on a Hercules router table. I bought the Hercules router a year ago and would love to get a table for it.
No, haven’t heard anything as of yet, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw one in the next year
A good jigsaw (and blade selection) is one of the handiest tools you can own. Super handy around the home. The Herc looks like a bargain! And a 5 year warranty to boot!!!
Where did you find that jig saw? I still can’t find it on the app or the website?🤔
Link in the video description
When are we going to get a 14" 1800- rpm cold cut off saw?
I've been using table saws for nearly 20 years and still have no idea why I'd ever want a miter gauge for one. Yet every saw seems to come with a crappy one and most brands also sell at least one better one.
I know several things that you could use a miter gauge for. But all of them can be done safer and easier with other tools that you almost certainly already have if you're considering spending any money on an upgraded miter gauge.
I'd love to get to know the manager at my local store to finagle a deal now and again. Always new faces and they don't seem to last more than a month or two.
Bear why does HF have such high turn over, even in managers. Are they like dollar tree?
The hercules jigsaw is mine with next big coupon
Thxs
When are the gonna update the Hercules 12v ratchet to brushless?
I have the same question about their 12 volt quarter drive impact wrench that has 900 inch pounds It's awesome but it needs to be brushless.
Probably soon, the 12v ratchets are on clearance...
@tsl7881 here's hoping. And a speed selector. The 900 in-lbs. Is good. But speed selector would be nice to limit the ft lbs one applies to different tasks.
That tumbler works real well cleaning up tubular brass things - just sayin.
When is Hercules coming out with a nailer and/or crown stapler?
I got the old style band saw for 240$ they will work with you if they see you shop there
BEAR.... please tell me you did a time lapse on your son building the trailer..... that would be cool!
Have you heard anything on the 12 volt Hercules die grinder
Nope
@denoftools 😟🤞🏾
Waiting on them to drop the Bauer Cordless House Vacuum man.
I want an Icon 1/2" drive general service socket set like the 1/4" and 3/8" sets they sell
Herc drycut saw when
Where is the new icon mini meme kit that added sockets?.. I thought it was dropping summer 2024
Bring on the worm drive herc...
Its a pretty good deal, but bulky and only has a 1/4" tripod mount on the bottom. I just don't always have a 2x4 to hang it on.
The one at best buy is 3600 watts compared to 7200
Do you have any idea when the angle die grinder is going to be released can't wait to get my hands on one
They talked about it at the show. I think it was late spring.
Brushless cordless DA forced rotation polisher please
Where do you find the items on clearance? I don't see it on my app.
If you were in the app, just go to shop and then on the top line all the way to the right is clearance
Kingman ,Az. manager is a hard a$$ doesn't deal
