Good game! My observation is it seems not well play tested as both of you hit all the top of the tracks with at least 3/4 turns left in the game. It comes across as a good game but maybe it needed a tune up to make it tighter in its mechanics. It is quite heavy as a game. Thanks for showing it off!
Hi Steve. We really liked Boonlake. It is quite heavy for sure, but there are lots of options and strategy in the game. As regards the tracks, it really depends on the players. I have played games where players really want to race down the river to get the bigger bonuses further down. This finishes the game much faster and it also means that not all players would get to the end of the tracks. If one player starts racing down the track, others are sure to follow to make sure that they get the bigger bonuses too. Thanks for watching and commenting!
