Lyrics: Shoe Shoe Shine / The Dynamic Superiors
First of all
Let's get one thing straight
All the things you desire
Will have to come late
Ain't handing you no jive
Telling you it is what it ain't
Pretending I can do things
That I, oh, that I can't
But I remember (I remember)
I remember (I remember)
(CHORUS)
Shoe shoe shine used to cost a dime
A penny could buy you plenty
A nickel was the fare
To take you anywhere
Troubles, we didn't have many
I may not have much to speak of
But there'll always be plenty of love
You might as well get
Rid of those crazy ideas
Rainy days will outnumber
The ones you see clear
The picture in your dreams, no
That ain't the way it's gonna be
When you sit in your lucky chair
All you may have is me
Telling the story (telling the story)
Of glory (of glory) when
(CHORUS)
I may not have much to speak of
But there'll always be plenty of love
Telling the story (telling the story)
Of glory (of glory) when
(CHORUS) 3X to fade

I love the footage, it's from a time when most Black folks still cared about one another.
I still walk the ghetto streets my parents once walked. May they both rest in peace. Shoe shoe shine used to cost a dime and a nickel could by you plenty. This beautiful song came out in 1974. I was born in 1972. I still play this jam louder than rap👋🐸
Ah the 70’s the best music, family, friends parties. The best time of life period! I miss the 70’s 😢SMH😔😞
This is the jam!! That Tony Washington sung the heck out of this. R.I.P. Tony!!

This is a beautiful video of the days gone by.
I have pictures of my mother, and me when she fashioned an afro when I was a baby boy in the mid-seventies.

Wow….. what happened to us???
I have never seen people who used to be back then in the 70’s like this before because I wasn’t there at that time before I came to this world in 98. Things were changing, so different back then that i didn’t look like this anymore. I wish I was born long time ago because I didn’t how twisted and crooked generation I’m in… it’s really 😔
I was really curious what it was like back then because I already know my mom life story but I haven’t got a chance to talk and to ask my grandma Mary for the first time yet but it was okay because it was too late because she passed away at the age of 88 on October 2018. My grandma was born in January 14th 1930. I want to know more about her past. My mom told me many things about her good old days was like, through her childhood to adulthood experiences back in the old days when she was a kid in the early 70’s and in her teens at that time in the mid-late 70’s because she was born in 1963.
Crack
Is this in Watts CA?
Bad song.
