This was the most “non-gimmicky” video about starting a small business, that I have seen. I like that you’re no frills but your content is so clear that you still sustain the attention of your audience. Thank you for this. 🙏🏽
@@TimKoa Hi Tim, thank you so much for your sharing, was wondering if you have used any tools? Been struggling to get visits. I will be much appreciated if you would tell me! Thank you!
I love seeing how your face lights up when talking about your first sale. Yeah, it's an incredible feeling, keep that close ( I remember my first from a total stranger, it was so cool...). In terms of how much earned, you've done well actually. I've been on Etsy for way longer than you and have earned a fraction of that.
I am in the same boat. I wonder where his sales are generated from and what links and social media maybe feeding it. I am not sure if he is strictly riding on just Etsy search to generate his sales.
That’s awesome that you made so much in just a short time. I started Etsy Sept 2020 and my progress is a bit slow but right now it’s picking up a bit. I do embroidery kids apparel which take some time to create because all my items are made to order. I am a stay at home mom so with the little sales I have it is good enough for me and keep me busy for now. I do want to grow later on, but in my situation now I am happy with the sale I’ve got so far. You’re so right about not going to school for business or waiting for the right time to start. I was trying to prepare months before I open in September and I think just go for it and figure things along the way. If I keep waiting I’ll probably haven’t been open at all. Thank you for sharing your success and how Etsy is working for you.
Those youtubers that say they make that much, did they prove it, I have watch loads of videos & your the one that seems so truthful & your proving your sales to us. Thank you
I've been following you for months now. You've been one of my inspirations to open up my own shop. For 4 months, I designed and learned how to make them. I opened my shop January 1st 2022 and I got 27 sales total but I had to take most of my listings down because of this reason. Spent quite the money and lots of time just to find out I couldn't sell fan arts such as pokemon characters( I would design pikachu drinking boba or eating ramen). I was sad but at the same time I knew what I was getting into when selling stuff on Etsy. I should've done more research on selling fan arts but I was so caught up in trying to get everything else ready. I haven't lost purpose yet since I still have some of my own designs. I keep coming back to your videos to remind me not to give up. Thank you so much for spending time helping others. I Hope you keep posting new content. Thank you!
Congrats on getting started and the early success! Yeah, if you're trying to build something long term you really need to have your own designs or art. Sounds like you have the right mindset to keep going through the first obstacle! Wish you the best in the new year! You got this! :)
@@TimKoa thank you!!!! so three days ago, I came up with an idea of doing a custom photo sticker and I got about 10 sales but all of them were from my social media. I was wondering if you offer a rate where you would look at my Etsy and see what I can do better. If not, its cool. but thank you again! always looking forward to your videos:)
I appreciate how simple and kind you are, I think you offer such a realistic perspective of people starting or thinking of starting a small business. Thank you, God Bless.
It really resonated with me how you said "fell into a routine." I think a lot of people can relate to that statement of not ever having time to do other things like projects or side hustles, whatever you want to call it, because the regular full time job takes up so much time and energy. Awesome video and congrats on your success!
I was very hesitant to start a sticker business because I'm very discouraged because I think i'd fail and that I have no chance. This video made me rethink my goals and actually motivated me to start one. Thanks Tim!
Such a simple and straight forward video, this was the video that pushed me to do what I’ve been wanting to do for years! Thank you for the tips, I hope your business keeps growing :)
You are so amazing to do this and encourage people in this time of hardships. It is so refreshing to see someone give helpful tips and ideas in an effort to help others succeed.

I have started an etsy sticker shop for budgeting stickers, but it's not nearly as profitable as your shop. I like seeing someone else that's new to all of this being so transparent and honest. Thanks for sharing!

You are flipping adorable! Smart, clear, humble, & proud. It’s very refreshing! Congratulations on your success!!! & thank you for helping me figure out more to make my own business one step closer to completion!!! I was curious how much time it takes for you to deal with orders & the full cost per sticker of income after a breakdown of everything! Also have you tried other websites to sell on as well? Thank you so much & continued 🍀 in your future endeavors!!
Hi Tim! Thank you for this useful video. You were very clear with your story of your journey and i appreciate it. I suffered as an artist and work one hundred percent as a nurse at a health center, 2 months ago I realized that I just want to create and paint, then in my childhood i loved to paint and i tried måla in my free time, but my job took all my energy and I came home with swollen feet and a headache. Now I have a plan to move on to being a full time artist, I create and sew scrunchies , i m very happy. I have to learn to sell on internet like ETSY. I hope you reach your goal and realize your dream.
You need to explain to them the cost of the seller goes through when Etsy charges you so much in fees for listing, fees for mailing items out and also the cost of your supplies every time you need to restock everything from Inc. to sticker paper to mailing supplies to postage all of that because numbers look great until you take all that into consideration. I’ve heard other Etsy sellers explain on how high the cost is that Etsy charges each shop all these different fees which I think is ridiculous and it cuts so much into the profit of each seller that it’s not really fair
The cost of my materials are really high for me! I have researched and wasted so much time and money to find the right sticker paper, art print paper and the list goes on. I will say though, that I am happy with Etsy charging me $0.25 Canadian (US $0.20) for each listing. It honestly saves me so much time with advertising and trying to find people to go to my shop since they already have a built in consumer base. The amount that they take per sale is a little high and there is just no way I can add that PLUS the shipping cost into the price of a postcard or a sticker or whatever, no matter how good the quality is. Especially being 6 months in. But I LOVE doing this and it is the perfect place to start for me!
Thank you for being so transparent with your numbers! Would it be possible to have you to actual NET numbers vs revenue so we can get an idea of fees and actual income? That would be awesome!
I loved your video! I have been wanting to do a sticker shop since 2020. I went as far as adding photos to my Etsy shop, but that's as far as I got. I get in my own way thinking no one will want to buy my art.

Thanks for the kind words Meaghan! Starting is definitely the hardest part! Everything seems to get a little bit easier after that which is really encouraging. That's some great progress on getting two sales channels up and running in such a short time! I'm working on Shopify too! I'm hoping to launch it in a month or two! :)

Research printers. I did this on an Epson workforce that was 30$ in like 2015. And it was thee cleanest printing printer I have ever used. I even bought the next level up model from Epson and it printed nothing like the workforce. Thankfully I kept the Epson Workforce and that printer is still printing 8 years later

I just started an Etsy shop Shelly stickers. Thanks for the video!
Proud of you!
I have a background in both graphic design and illustration, and I've been doing art commissions and also branding/logos for people, but not for long enough to get tired. BUT I've been getting quite skilled lately, I believe I have something to offer, and your video pretty much pulled me over the fence, thanks!
This was awesomely pure. Thank you! I’m going to be selling a bundle package of educational printables with artisan soap for kids. How do I determine pricing for each without low balling myself just to make a sales?
this makes me so excited. i’m just curious about making stickers and enamel pins so this video was helpful. i have no idea where to begin or start but i guess this video was a good start! thanks for the video 😊
Best of luck on your shop! :)
Add your Etsy shop to your description box. Stopped the video to check out your store and there was no link in the description. Add that!
Hi Leslie! For privacy reasons, I've decided not to publicly share my shop. I'm completely open about everything else though, so if you have any other questions feel free to ask! :)
