This is the second video of yours that I watch, the first was about Joyo Dark Flame. I love the fact that you explore many different musical styles, showing the diversity of tones that each pedal can do. Your job is very well done. Congratulations and thank you. Greetings from Brazil!
Thanks so much! I am super happy that you found my little channel and that you’re enjoying the videos you saw so far :) I do try my best to always include some music for as many different tastes and genres as I can… this also makes it really fun for me to play and record each time ;) Cheers and rock on!
Love that you tested it on different settings for each genre. Was torn between this and the Caline Jaguar but was sold on this the moment I heard the heavy metal riffs and leads
Happy you found the video useful! The Uzi is actually surprisingly versatile, so it works great for so many different genres. Actually I'd never heard of the Jaguar but that looks pretty cool too 😅
I have this pedal as well as a Revv G4. I use the G4 more due to the crisper tone and lower noise floor. However I love both of them, they both sound great 😃
Yep, the G4 is definitely quieter, and it's just perfect for modern genres where you need that extra clarity and punch. The Uzi is great for the old school dirty rock and roll ;) Both great though, and together you can cover any kind of gain you'll ever need!
Thanks a lot! That's actually a really good way of putting it... I'm much more about showcasing the gear than myself, that's for sure :) Cheers for watching!
Great video man! I love the variety! I've had one of these pedals for a while now, and it gives me all the gain I need. I'm playing it through a Hot Rod Deluxe with a pretty much unusable (for my needs) dirty channel. I actually really like having the bias more on the Mesa side (at around 10 oclock). From there, I boost it with the Joyo Baatsin overdrive in 808 mode (Volume at 10, drive at 0). It tightens it up really nicely, and sounds killer!! Oh... and that blue Tele of yours is sexy as hell!
That's a great sounding pedal right there! Also, let's talk about that Telecaster single coil absolutely killing it with the chugs!(albeit a bit noisy but that's part of the mojo) Great vid as always!
I totally agree, the Uzi was a great little find... and there's totally some magic in that Tele. It really chugs with some of the best of them. The noise is just the rock and roll coming through ;) Cheers for watching and enjoying this one!
@@alfianbanjaransari4096 Exactly, the gate's there if you really need it and all good! You can't beat the bite of a Tele bridge pickup with some high gain.
@@RichWordsMusicNice video! Does the Dark Flame give good scooped mids? I’m having a hard time getting a good scooped sound from the Uzi. I feel like altering the mid knob somehow affects the bass and treble as well. Thanks!
Thank you, this is a very thorough review, with all those different music styles and pick-up configurations! 👍Very useful if someone is interested in buying one of these pedals...👌
Cheers, glad you enjoyed the video and found it useful! That's the great thing about the Uzi... you can get so many great sounds out of it for so many different styles of music!
@@RichWordsMusic I'm fond of the JOYO products, as imho they provide a pretty good value for (and even beyond) the price... In one of your other related pedal test videos, I've been asking, if this would be the right choice for me, or maybe JOYO Dark Flame, JOYO Lion's Roar or JOYO Old School, considering I need one decent, "overall" solution for playing '80s style glam & hard rock music? I'm planning to use the ovedrive/distortion pedal in pair with a JOYO Aquarius delay pedal. Do you have any suggestions please on this? Thanks a ton in advance!
@@RichWordsMusic Yeah, it sounds great for sure. But why do I think I have to have one on my pedal board when it's not even something I would use in my rock/ blues genre? 🙂 FOMO? I don't know ...😛
@@Lamz.. Ha ha, FOMO... we know it well 😉 Honestly, it's the same for me. I think I have over 50 drive pedals now... how many do I REALLY need? Please don't answer that 😉 But how many do I want? Just one more 😊 I guess it's the same for you! P.S. Try the Dirty Shirley pedal if you haven't already. That is an amazing pedal for me (after I learned that is has a gain trim pot inside I can turn down!). I'm also not sure anyone has paid homage to, or cloned, it for a more affordable price yet either! I also need to try the Friedman Small Box pedal...
@@RichWordsMusic Just watched that video of yours, yeah it's crazy how we sometimes don't get along with some gear, and then get suddenly inspired by it again, years later. I don't think Shirley's are manufactured anymore. Not as a pedal, that is.

Great video on the JOYO UZI. Sounds like it will work well for Metal and heavier rock music. I have the Railhammer Anvil pickup and I am confident that the JOYO will work with that . Blessings!
Great tip! I have a Carcosa and will be testing that out today ;) And I don't have a Queeqeug, but other octave pedals that'll fill that gap for me too!
@@RichWordsMusic I have the first version of the Queequeg and it is unique. The second pedal version of the Queequeg is similar but different, it has more options for suboctave tones, but it has also a different character. These suboctave pedals are different in comparison with other octave pedals. I use my Queequeg for solo parts and I love it.
You are a riff machine! Your riffs and „xyz inspired“ snippets are so helpful to get a good impression of the product you are demonstrating. Thank you. I kind of wish manufactures would stay away from those martial names. I really mean it. I tend to boycott such products and, yes, quite inconsequently bought the UZI anyways. I said it before: I love all the Joyo stuff. I have absolutely no problem with buying clones because I have bought so much authentic gear in my life. No wasting time with lawsuits… just keep on creating. Rock solid attitude. Chapeau…
Thanks so much! Really glad you enjoy the riffs. As long as I enjoy playing them there will be more videos like this :) There is an odd trend that's been going on for decades in our business with names that could be considered quite lewd... the Big Muff and almost all Friedman products spring to mind, although there's loads more. And then there's the weapon ones, and of course, brands like Thorpy FX have it in their DNA too. Perhaps these things just go well with the loud noises of rock and roll! And yes, Coco had it right! Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and all that... like me with some of these riffs, actually ;) Cheers for watching and rock on!
