Probably the first, "Bay City Roller's" song, I heard on the radio, in the 70's. Here in 🇺🇸. I was about, 30. Wish I could have, seen them play! So talented and hansome. RIP to those, who are gone...but never too, be forgotten. ❤️ to Les and their, 'Rocklin Band', from America 🇺🇸.
Time has dimmed the impact they caused back in the middle 70s. The teen crowd and older really charted those guys pretty well back in the day. Worldwide. They had number ones with other songs abroad. Just two in Britain tho. And their 1st 5 LP releases in the States went GOLD. Time has certainly erased how massive they actually were. Memories.
Twelve years old I watched the Bay City Rollers every Sunday wishing to marry Eric. As it turned out, my Scottish cousins use to deal with the rollers. How funny is that😂
The pickup is actually pretty heavy for a 70's song. Sure it turns into bubble gum after that, but musically I think they were underrated and written off as a fad which is too bad, they were actually a pretty great little band. 0:20 - 0:33 I've always thought as very underrated. Seems perfect for pumping up a crowd, and almost sounds like it was for a band 30 years later. Very uplifting every time I hear it.
They have a pretty good sound here. Lucky the 3 members had a chance to get together and have a good time. I'm picturing thousands of teenagers screaming those letters.
He even sounded great here. RIP Les McKeown, you will be missed.
