I discovered your channel a few months ago and really enjoy your program! I was born in Glounsharoon Co. Kerry just up the road from Crag Cave in my grandparents little cottage. I grew up in rural Cork, about 7 miles from Bandon and emigrated to Brooklyn with my mother and twin sister at age 14. Our older brothers had preceded us a few years earlier! It was a simple life…no electricity until I was about 6 and going to Mass in the pony and trap but I wouldn’t trade those years for all the tea in China! My older sister still lives in Dublin…a retired teaching nun. The downside of emigration back then is it split up families. She is my best friend and we are about 6000 miles apart. Anyway, it is great to tag along with you on the big screen and soak in the beauty of my beloved homeland. I dearly miss the green, green grass of home! ☘️👍🙏💚
Thanks for sharing that Elizabeth. It’s very interesting to hear stores like this. I’m glad you’re following along enjoying the videos. When I started doing this I would have never thought of hearing stories like yours because of these videos but it’s been fascinating to hear them. Thanks very much. Ed
Hard to believe as a Cork man you’ve never been in that neck of the woods before ! Mind you, you’ve jumped ahead of me as I’ve yet to go out to fast net ! Great vid, the arch looked class too
I know Darren, for shame 😳 I suppose where I am in the county, Kerry was always the first choice, and that’s not even talking about Dingle, more like Banna, Fenit or Tralee. Have to say tho, the parking/traffic in Baltimore is mental. 👍 next time will definitely be outside peak season.
My new favorite channel. I’m so happy I found you. It’s been too long since I’ve been back. Your videos are relaxing & beautiful. My Mom is from Cork City, specifically Spangle Hill but I’ve spent time in West Cork & it is amazing ✌️💚
Such a relaxing place. I visited that area a few years back and also the Mizen Head lighthouse. It's magical down there. Great video Eddie. I've become a fan!
Thanks very much, I was at Mizen two weeks before, and had a fine day then also. It’s some place alright. I look forward to returning…. when it’s a bit quieter. 😳👍
Hi Ed, my brother and sister-in-law are just about to get on a boat over to Cape Clear for the day, so I have sent them this video...... they are planning to do the red loop walk too!!
Thats brilliant to hear, it’s a really nice walk, seems like an age ago since I did it. As long as they don’t miss the turn off after coming off the hillside, like I did, and end up heading up a really really steep hill 😬😅
Great video again Eddie , times we can be blinded to what is on our own doorstep by the lure of that banger location . This surely showcases Corks stunning beauty .
Thanks Dave, i find it a long old haul down from where I am in the NW of the county, and for my shame I don’t know that part of the county at all. Will hopefully fix that over the next while. 👍
That signpost with distances to different countries has Mossburn, New Zealand, which is a tiny rural settlement of about 200 people in the far south of the country! 🤣🤣Lovely all the ferns and heather!
Thanks Sequin, I wonder what the connection is to say that tiny settlement as you say is up there. Immigration all those years ago or visitors I wonder? Thanks for sharing that, and yep, the heather is amazing this year again. 👍
I stayed in Baltimore 2 years ago and early one morning I ran out to the Beacon. I was alone and it was so awesome! On the run back to the harbor I spotted an ancient pilchard press in someone’s backyard and photographed it. My ancestors were supposedly copper miners and pilchard fishermen so somehow I felt like I’d been to this area with Mt. Gabriel (ancient copper mines) and Baltimore before!
Isn’t it great to see something that random that when out for a jog and for it to mean so much. You’re well traveled Gary and have easily seen more of this country than me I reckon. I’ll have to try and rectify that 😉👍

Another fabulous video. Thank you Eddie.
Thanks Mike, I’m lucky, all I have to do is turn up 😎
There place was stunning 🤩

Fantastic recording Eddie. Just back from West cork yesterday myself and now I'm itching to get back.
Thanks Jim, I think the weather I got has set the bar ridiculously high for my next trip there. Surely it’s like that in West Cork all the time 🤔👍

@@eddieforde I thought you were based in Kerry 🙈
Haha, no boy, Cork…
you’d be forgiven for thinking that Dave, considering that nearly every video is from Kerry. 🤣🤣
@@eddieforde😂
Never been to Cape Clear. Its beautiful and what a stunning Lighthouse. Thanks for showing us 😊❤
My first time there Pia and it did not disappoint. Would love to have got more shots of the lighthouse, but wasn't feeling great when out there 🥴
@@eddieforde I know the feeling. 🙄
Brilliant photos there Eddie
Thanks Adrian, it was a great day to be out in it, a pity I wasn’t up to it for sunset as it was really quite nice. Next time maybe. 🤞👍
Stunning Ed. I really should revisit. It's been far too long.
Thanks Chris, it was a cracking day alright 😎
Very nice. Was in Cork in 1996 👍🙂
Thanks Stig, you’ve probably seen more of that part of the country than I have. I’ll have to rectify that 😬👍
Okay - I'm going down there next year. As long As Eddie come up to north coast of Donegal in return? He won't be disappointed!
I dunno Gregory, Donegal is a long long way away 😉 ... altho a few peaks are on the list alright as well as a few cliffs... you never know
Fantastic!
Thanks Andrew, it’s some spot alright. 👍
Great video, lovely weather in west cork for a change, nice one Eddie
Thanks Robert, it was a cracking day down there, it was lovely to get it for a change. 👍
