- We got our hands on a cheap pit bike! This 2010 model 72cc pit bike is pretty beat- especially for its age. Ike bought it about a year ago for $150, and today we’re reviving it and making it run in preparation for Mini Mayhem Fall 2019! This little dirt bike didn’t need much- we cleaned the carburetor, upsized the carb jet, installed a freer flowing exhaust, bled the brakes, and that’s it! It’s pretty quick for 72ccs!

Put a Lifan 125cc on it with an Alien Exhaust, you won't be disappointed. Or a Daytona 190cc with an FMF 4.1. If you guy's want parts for Pit Bikes TBolt USA is the best place to get them, EBay is also a great place for parts for Pit Bikes.

@@whatswiththissassylostchilld coming from a survivor of a 70mph+ crash, you sir are wrong. Gear makes all the difference. Gp guys go down at tripple digits and walk away. They teach you how to go down if you ever advanced classes.
The deadly crashes are from when the rider comes to a dead stop, instantly. A car pulling out going left.
Or when the rider get creamed from behind.
I've personally been through all of them and I would pick the high speed low side any day.

See I have the tools to do it its just finding the metal to build with. I don’t want to use cheap stuff but I cant afford good metal. Plus a built 670 or a CB750 are way outta my budget
Seeing Ike ereally boogie on that track makes me want to see them rebuild a cheap yz 125 or similar full size dirt bike! I would love to see it done!

I brought my first bike home then was gonna fire it back up and show it off to everyone, couldn't get it started, I fought with it for about 20 minutes before giving up. After everyone left I remembered the kill switch. Fired right up when I turned it on.

They are both the dual rear tire models.

I just got a 4wheeler Yamaha 250 bear tracker that was put to the trash had the key in it looked like it was sitting for 10yrs and just for watching you guy do what you do I was able to put a brand new carburetor on it and it runs like new and my kids love it

I ride Oregon beaches on my pit bike!!! I recently got more aggressive tread. And went from 2.50 wide to 2.75. And it made it so much easier to ride in sand. Also shifting your body weight can also help with the traction on the sand!! Great video!!

Rode dirt bikes in the California desert for more than 30 years. #1 I learned early on not to wear short pants. #2 Not sure if you can do it on those tiny bikes, but learning how to stand up on the pegs and balance while plowing through deep sand and around brush and holes helped me a lot.
you just have to stand up for more control, the good thing is there so light that it's easy to fling around!

I have a 110cc and it’s been great, replaced a few things, only ride dirt/grass/pavement, no issues, would be cool to see one modded to have some balloon tires on it

Hey dudes first of all i love your videos!.... i am planing on building my own go kart but i dont really know what a good motor is and wich gear ratio i need to use, i am aiming to reach 100 km/h ( 60 miles/hour) and have a fair amaunth of torq for drifting / sliping what do you recomend and how expensive will it be

I put Bridgestone tires on my 125cc. Made a big difference compared to the stockers

I had that exact same dump on a pit bike of my own, SSR125.
Off a dirt mound, tried to corner it into gravel, low sided the shit out of it
When you’re going straight keep your weight over the back tire and float the front wheel as best you can and when turning you want to essentially sit on the gas tank and put your foot out in front of you on the side you’re leaning towards Incase you do wash out

I got a couple pit bikes (ttr 125 and an xr 70) both are highly modded. The xr 70 is a retired street racing bike. Both have big bores, fmf exhausts performance carbs, oversized cams, cdis. The xr was also modded so it has 2 rear rims and tires. They are both different bikes now.
I’ve got a125 cc pit bike which I ride mainly in a field and at first it was really slippery so I changed the swing arm so I could put a 14” on the rear and a 17 on the front but if you don’t change the swing arm you can only put a 12 on the rear
Those tires are 10in tall and about as wide as a pizza cutter 🍕😂😂😂😂

I never had a pit bike, but I had a salvage yard built Honda XL75. From my experience with that I would say you need bigger wheels, like a few inches bigger in the rear, and as big as you can fit under the fender in the front. Wide rear tire and medium width front should do the trick for that bike. You won't be able to fit a wide enough tire for sand so it'll never be great there, but on the trails it will be an absolute blast.
Also the tall tiers they make for them help alot in the soft stuff
I have a ssr125 4 speed I just put a 190cc 5 speed on and it’s a handful of fun with motor cross tires

Look like you guys had fun out there, even though Isaac had that small stack. You’ll have to try and get some bigger tyres to go on it and you’ll both enjoy it way more.
I put a 12inch rear wheel on my 70cc pitbike. The tire I used was a soft terrain Kenda 12-3.00 it grabs amazing in my opinion

This is what I would do
Bike bulid
1-Dunlop mx33 you can buy these on tbolt
2-new rear shock eBay ones work fine (make sure it has adjustable compression and preload)
3-check/change fork oil
4-thread lock everything
5-new chain (gold eBay one $13)
6-some nice protapers
Engine (110cc/125cc)
1-oil cooler
2-nice eBay exhaust
3-good carb(don’t over jet it’s easy too)
4-big bore kit
5-big cam

Dang Isaac bit the dirt with the pizza cutter tires that just weren't cutting it. That looked rough when you guys first started working on it but now that thing hauls the mail!! You guys find a lot of good bargains around here people want to much for pieces of junk that are just frames with nothing else. Keep up with the excellent content guys. Yep, time for a 4 speed 110cc or 125cc like I did to mine. Mine started as a 50cc. I just ride it, it is the thrill of it trying to kill me that makes it a blast and every ditch is a grand canyon. I bet mine rides more ackward than that. 😆

12" front tire with better tread patterns front and back help on pitbikes in general. Getting more traction in the back will help you stay up on top the sand with speed. In sand your momentum is all on the back wheel. Think of the front wheel as a ski.

Cool pit bike ,on mine I replaced the wheels from 10 inch to 12 ,you might be able to get away with 14 inch if you have a long enough swing arm ,pretty sure mine came with tubes and tyres DO NOT USE A FUEL FILTER it made mine run quite lumpy as it messes with the gravity feed,I made a modification to the air filter out of wide radiator hose to tuck it under the seat out the way so it didn’t get drenched and sand covered,might need to redial the carb back in if you do this,better quality oil in the front shocks,jet replacement,slightly bigger back sprocket ,front sprocket ,better chain,General service too,just as a side note mine was a Chinese pit bike and it killed spark plugs on occasion so make sure you have a couple of spares kicking about your person so it does not ruin your day out ,hope it helps👍
12 inch rear and 17 inch front what I did to all my kids pit bike as we lived in Florida which is all sand all the time

Unfortunately fellas by the time youve built/fabricated a new rear swing arm, forks and wheels you might as well have bought a better bike.
If you can get fatter tires itll help but youll lose tonnes of punch from that lil motor.
But the usual go to's (in aus at least)
-Getting just an all round bigger carb with bigger intake/jets
I run an oversized carb with an undersized idle jet.
I recommend a foam air filter
-Wider bars for stability.
-Lights are fun
-Bashplate for the engine
-stubby holder
Maybe you could get creative and extand the rear swingarm?
