C.Ronaldo's never been in any WC final. His best result with Portugal was a semi-final in WC 2006 and that team was absolutely filled with talent. For me, the best Portugal team ever and they were great to watch. They lost to France which also had a phenomenal team at the time with Zidane pulling the strings.
A small bit of information about all the WC winners:
1. Brazil (5 WC). The best WC team to date. Known for their Joga Bonito (beautiful play), Most of the time stacked with great players/legends like Pelé, Garrincha, Jairzinho, Tostão, Rivelino, Zico, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho... Generally lethal in attack, less so defensively. Their best teams were in 1962, 1970, 1982 (they didn't win it that year) and 2002 to an extent. Always favourites even when they don't have the best team. The only team to never have missed any of the 21 World Cups held until now.
2. Germany (4 WC). The typical tournament team. Efficient and ruthless, especially in games with high stakes. Their style of play was for a very long time practical and not really great to watch, but they have a knack at getting the job done. Their style has evolved when Klinsmann took over in 2004 and is now easier on the eye with great emphasis on the attack. Some of their greatest players: Franz Beckenbauer, Gerd Müller, Sepp Maier (GK), Uwe Seeler, Günter Netzer, Berti Vogts, K-H Rummenigge, Jürgen Klinsmann, Oliver Kahn (GK). Never to be underestimated, under any circumstances.
3. Italy (4 WC). A football giant, the defense masters and current European Champions. A nightmare to play against. Very, very hard to break with phenomenal defenders (Scirea, Bergomi, Gentile, Baresi, Maldini, Nesta, Chiellini) and fantastic goalkeepers (Zoff, Zenga, Peruzzi, Buffon). Tactically very well organized and they don't hesitate to play dirty when needed. However, they also have classy attacking players, (Meazza, Riva, R. Baggio, Totti or Pirlo for example), good on the ball and largely capable of producing pleasing attacking football. They won't be participating in this WC though, which is a damn shame.
4. Argentina (2 WC). Argentina is, after Brazil, the most successful south-american team and a football heavyweight. A bit like Italy, it's a mix between (very) tough defending and mesmerizing attacking football. Gave the world some of the best footballers like Kempes, Passarella, Redondo, Riquelme, Zanetti or Batistuta, to downright legends like Di Stefano, Maradona or Messi. It is Messi's last chance to give his country its third WC and go down as the greatest ever.
5. France (2 WC). The current title holder. France have been there from the very beginning in 1930, and generally had a (very) good attacking team, easy on the eye, with many legends like Kopa, Fontaine, Platini, Zidane, Henry. The 1952, 1982 and 1986 teams are good examples of the french touch. They never grabbed the trophy until 1998 though, with one of the best backlines of all time and a football legend (Zidane) at the helm. Since then they moved to the next level, their team is always filled with very talented footballers, a strong midfield, and facing them is a very hard task.
6. Uruguay (2 WC). Their two WCs were won in the very early stages (1930, 1950) and they aren't considered as title contenders nowadays. It's still staggering to see such a small country consistently produce so many high level footballers (Francescoli who was Zidane's idol, Forlán, Recoba, Luis Suárez, Godín...). They're never easy to play against, compact, tough and capable of upsetting even the best teams.
7. Spain (1 WC). A good team but never in real contention... until 2010. The only european national team to win Euros, WC, Euros back to back (2008-2012) with its spine mostly composed of Guardiola's Barcelona dream team. Since 2008, a team with flair players with a style of play based on ball possession, making their opponent chasing shadows. Some find this style boring, I don't. Spain produced some of the finest midfield and attacking players of all time like Butragueño, Raúl, Xavi, Xabi Alonso or Iniesta.
8. England (1 WC). The inventors of football, who curiously only won just 1 WC, on home soil in 1966. Even with so many legends throughout the years like Bobby Moore, Sir Bobby Charlton, Jimmy Greaves, Sir Stanley Matthews, Gordon Banks (GK), Paul Scholes, Steven Gerrard, David Beckham or Wayne Rooney, England aren't of the ilk as say Brazil or Germany. They always flattered to deceive and never lived up to the hype generated by the media. Still a very good team capable of making it to the final stages.

I can remember the WC 1990 in Italy and how football looked like a couple of years before that. So yeah, I know a bit or two about the sport, its legends and the World Cup winners. There's also plenty of videos of the older games and past legends that you can get.

World Cup in Sweden 1958, a WC many Swedes think never happened (weird story) 😆The WC that revealed a young superstar to the world, Pelé! Also Sweden's best performance in a WC. So far we have managed to pick up 3 medals. Silver in -58, Bronze in -50 and -94. That summer of -94 though, WC in USA and a very special memory for many Swedes.

The best team to never win a World Cup would probably be the Netherlands, having lost three finals. With all the talent they've produced as well as contributions to the game of football, it's actually a bit weird to not see them among the teams listed above. But tradition is strong in football, so don't be surprised to see them play yet again in a World Cup final.

You need to understand the space, and the possibility of scoring a goal when a goalkeeper doesn't come vs comes ahead, to understand the role of the goalkeeper! Don't just laugh, they are some of the greatest players in history! Thats why they went up to the world cup finals! Strikers win you the match, but the keepers win you trophies!

@@oneshak I'm actually not talking about Cristiano , listen majority of people especially the younger generation maybe from 1998 upwards have been pushed to believe Ronaldo was the best thing to ever exist in the forward position , they do not say he had a potential to be they are saying he is the best , the generation that watched Ronaldo won't be alive in 2050 , what is going to speak is the stats whether you like to dispute the idea of stats or not especially for midfielders , but looking into Ronaldo he was a sponge , a totally weak body , something players like Messi didn't have so they played for a longer time to prove why he is the best , on the other hand Ronaldos career exist on his younger days and peak ONLY. If the goalkeeper stays in the goal for some instances, it makes it easier for a player to choose a place to score with the ball, so sometimes you'll see them come off the line to try and put pressure on the ball making the player have less time to think and shoot, while also at the same time it closes down angles as the keeper can make themselves bigger when closer to the ball rather then wait for the player to pick a corner and shoot when there is no pressure on them, you might see it more often, it takes a lot of composure to outsmart the goalkeeper and still put it in the back of the net, I guess you have to be in the situation to understand better 😅

Ronaldo’s team was terrible for years to be honest we only actually became competitive in 2016 when he won the euro cup which was portugals first ever international trophy. But we’ve been to many semi finals. If you watch the full World Cup highlights of like 66 or 2006 where Portugal went to the semis of the World Cup and in 2004 the finals of the euro cup which is biggest trophy after the World Cup.
