Tbh not a great advice. I'd suggest going over the wall (either a rock pillar by hoe or build stairs) and taking over the fort. Forts are some of the safest places in the ashlands so you really wanna claim it for yourself to have an outpost, the more the better. If one doesnt break the outer wall mobs wont ever be able to get in. Basically only the valkyrie can get you, since it's air borne or fader which can destroy forts. Otherwise nothing can destroy those walls.
You have converted me to the Mages guild! I usually do a tanky build because I have kids and try to keep them alive. (when they aren't running off into the wastes alone) but going full mage is 🔥🔥🔥! Awesome content for sure! I've been sending your videos to my other valheim friends. Haha!
The easiest way is to build an earthen platform at shooting distance and place a portal on it. And we shoot at everyone who appears on the walls with a staff of amber, catapults on the corners and inside the walls. At the same time, we set up the embankment forward and upward, so that at the end we can simply jump inside the empty fortress after 10 min. The fortress remains with doors and can be used as a base.
The Staff of the Wild is simply ... Amazing. I beat the boss with protection, skellies, Troll Stav and those green tentacles. I think they beat him about the face and neck.
I rock he fortresses. I pick a corner without a ballista (or missing one). I build ladders up, jump on the battlements, and run around shooting everything with my bow. The spawners first, then I clean out the residents. Works. Every. Time.
Awesome video! I've been playing solo the whole time and had a hard time establishing a base in the ashlands. Definitely have been a little worried about taking on a fortress by myself. But now you've shown me what to do! Thank you!
really hope we can use 1 hand staff bubble protection. so that we can use bloodstone weapon ( also 1 hand sword/clubs/spear.) . this is where bloodstone would be usablefor that 40% hp (from using bubble) into damage. imagine that gandalf scene from LOTR
I have found mage to be the best for just being able to kill things and not die. But I tend to have more fun going melee tbh. And if you can manage to start a combo on something, the green berserker axes are actually OP. They attack fast enough to apply basically constant root effect 👀
Yeah melee is tons of fun i did like it mage is just spam fire ball and stuff but it sure is strong, and those little axes look awesome they made me consider switching back on warrior.
I've been having fun with the lightning Berzerkir axes and Askvin armor, but I'm dreading the Fader fight... I think I'll need to go magic and cheese him haha
@@therionex8134 Check out the video before the newest one it will make you doubt the warrior even more hahahaha. But yeah no joke play how you like to play f the things i say on the channel.
@@ProfessionalMage I actually did watch that one, my wife plays our mage and i wanted to see some tips for improve her playstyle, but I was able to get a fortress solo with warrior, thanks a lot to that inspirational video and that pro tip, ill keep looking forward for your content
Biggest issue with Ashlands is they are pushing the mage crap! What if you don't want to play as a mage? The game needs to be balanced for both mage and melee!
Unfortunately any ranged attack where you can safe spot something will always be overpowered vs melee where you're constantly being targeted. But I still think a full melee build is better than mage before you get the fortress gems since the inital staves don't do nearly as much amd the armor is insanely weak. If they had an augmented weapon that would do a minor amount of healing, then Melee would be on par with magic. Either that or a 100% spirit damage weapon to let you kill quicker.

I do like that idea friend, specially the gandalf scene potential with that.

Ufff Fader is a difficult one even for magic users make sure that you don't ran in to his spikes.

Btw, this isn’t a “siege” of the fortress. A siege involves cutting a fortress off from supplies. This is an assault.

True brother true, my warrior friend is like a kid in ashlands without my protection.
game is definetely easier with magic
@@adammaysz4324 Yeah and it should be more balanced for both classes lets hope they get it right with the new update whenever it drops.
You forgot archer. I play archer almost exclusively and I rock the Ashlands.
