We begin this episode by going over the materials you’ll need, before giving you a full demo of how to digitize an appliqué design using Chroma. Along the way, we also offer some key tips and tricks to make your digitizing go smoothly.
Then, we show you how to prep your sweatshirt for embroidery, including how to properly hoop your garment. We also show you the proper embroidery machine settings you’ll need for a project like this, before going over how to prep your appliqué in detail so your design will come out perfectly. After we finish embroidering our appliqué sweatshirt, we reveal the final product and discuss the potential profit you could make from this type of custom garment.

I found this to be incredibly useful. My Ricoma MT machine is a 20 head, but it was still very relevant information and my first attempt at applique was quite successful in large part because of how clear the step-by-step instructions are.

That digitizing looks really hard, I would however love to learn.
The digitizing is a learning curve but it's not impossible! If you purchased a machine with us, you can sign up for training through your customer portal. (:

Hi! We are using Poly twill fabric, it's easy to work with and doesn't shrink when you cut it

Hi! There are a lot of variables, including garment, design, and stitching order. For the most part, appliqué doesn't often require underlay.

Dose both of embroidery software you use work on windows 10? Because I definitely don’t want to use windows 11 as they have weird updates that delete everything.

Do you need a multi needle machine for this design?
No, you don't necessarily need a multi-needle machine to do appliqué. Appliqué can be done on various types of sewing machines, including single-needle machines. The choice of machine depends on factors such as the complexity of the design, the thickness of the fabric, and personal preference.
Is there a way we can remove all the white sheets after we finish ?

In 28:20 does the stabilizer sheet have to stay inside or we could cut it all?@@ricomatv
Its better to leave it that keeps the fabric stable for washing so your design continues to look nice I just trim close
Can you do it using Chroma Inspire????
Hi! You can do this in Chroma Inspire but the steps will be different. Chroma Luke is the one that does it automatically.

Why you use two sheets of stabalizer
Based on our testing, the two sheets of backing work best for this sweater.
Hi! By using two sheets of stabilizer, you're essentially adding an extra layer of stability and protection to ensure the quality and durability of the embroidered appliqué on your hoodie.
Ya know that tack spray ya only need the smallest amount. Dont need to coat it lol
