    Getting lost during a cave dive and your rescuer comes and says "I'm Edd Sorenson" is like going down big in a pick-up basketball game at your local park and a prime 1993 Michael Jordan shows up to join you. Your confidence level immediately takes as large a swing as possible.

    I love when ed tells the story about how he rocked up as the expert and they were asking him question like what's Ur plan? Don't have one! How long will you be in there? Don't know! Will you run your own line? Don't know? Haha he even says they must have been thinking does this bloody guy know anything?? Then he comes out 45 mins later from a cave he's never dove in before with the guy still alive, even the rescuers of the Thai football team couldn't find their friend in that cave after they'd already been diving it all the way back to that air pocket for the previous few days haha, so awesome!!

    • @sjk7467
      @sjk7467 2 года назад +2

      To be fair, the Thai navy we're not trained for caves. I'm no expert (or even a novice) at cave diving, I've never done it, but I've done regular diving and watch dive talk bc I'm super interested in it. But yeah an open water diver night add we'll be a newbie in a cave from what I've heard. So it's fairly understandable that they had so much difficulty finding someone for a rescue, which has only even been accomplished by the best of the best a few times.
      So yeah it's understandable that they couldn't do it, but regardless Ed is fucking awesome. All the respect.

I'm not a diver so just looking at the map it doesn't make sense. I understand a silt out and how it is disorienting but if the cave have 2 "easy" to get to end and a single line with no jumps or any intersections how does something like this happen?

      Looking at a stick map it would appear to be very simple to find your way out....... but reality inside that cave is very different. There are spots where you are belly crawling 12" or less and nothing but mud underneath you (going to instant zero vis) and then tight narrow fissure cracks and then low but very wide MUDDY areas with slopes and mounds of mud. Also when I went in they had broken the new line (which was floaty) and it was just in a twisted up column of tangled up mess. Their rescue team is made up of some of the best cave rescue guys in the world and they couldn't find him. It may look easy on paper but ........ NO!

    The music flat out sucks. Ruins the video. I watched about 30 seconds of the video, posted this, and now leaving.

      Everyone's loss I'm sure. Edd's a professional cave diver, not a RUclipsr finding "murder weapons" with an otherwise unemployed teen team of editors who find the coolest music or effects to satisfy you. Appreciate the effort he gave in saving a life and move on with yours.

      You could slap the worst sounds in history on a video of Edd doing his job and I wouldn’t care one bit. Edds stories and videos get me more involved than any fictional novel or movie. I wish he was my buddy so I could listen to all of his stories over some beers.

    " who is this" da na nah, nah nahh Batman aka Ed fkn Sorenson... bro imagine sittin in a cave alone thru the night and u start seein bubbles and a light coming and you say who is this and you hear "Ed Sorenson" like bro.... thats gotta be the best feeling in the world. thats literally Ed Sorenson aka Were going home aka Mr Were Not Dying aka Batman cuz you know... bats live in caves. hes the worlds best cave diver or hes world class lets say. its not a race to be in first place or a competition. but hes world class and Ed is at the pinnacle of cave exploration, cave rescue, cave diving all 3 cave .... disciplines i guess you could say for lack of a better term. but Ed is at the top of the ladder if there ever was one.. hes not "better" than any one else whos an expert cave explorer rank of cave diver.... hes just smarter, safer, makes better choices than most and has the fkn balls to never panic while beeing deep in a cave rescue solo in zero zero vis and a possibly alive diver running out of air or a body. in zero viz and u gotta find them, not get klled by them an rescue them. cuz theyre gonna rip ur head off as soon as they see you as Ed alwasys says and its true. they always reach for the head and neck area where all ur hoses and stuff are at. its very dangerous rescuing a paniced trapped diver. very... this man was a expeorenced and swam him self out of the cave with daves guidance.. they were only 15 minutes into the cave. 500 feet into the cave is all they were. but thats all it takes. in zero viz all it takes is 1 inch and poof. ur alone. like a switch going off... or a fin flipping up 3 inches of silt from a direct fin stomp and dust up.. poof now ur paniced making it worse and boom the entire cavity is smoked out.

    I’ll say it again and again… They don’t make men like Edd Sorensen anymore. He’s cut from a different cloth, this is the kind of man that should be president. His intelligence, integrity and honesty matched with his courage, determination and dedication make him a hero and the GOAT of rescue divers! What an incredible man and leader!

    Edd I am curious in a complete silt out, worse than this how do you know were todo go and what todo? I know you can follow the line but I saw on dive talk a complete silt out and your right you can’t see anything. Not even your wrist with your computer right in front of your face pressed up on the mask. It’s has to be all by feel then huh, that comes with experience. I guess when you get to a choke point or obstruction you just have to keep reaching around until you feel a path that you can go through right? I bet you try to memorize what you did going in so when you turn around you can go back out. Like people a complete silt out is no joke, scary really. I guess you just have to keep pressing forward until you make it, that’s amazing man. Until guys like you came around, their were no rescues let alone someone getting your body out. If you die down in one of these places you get left there. Like i said when you can’t see this must all be by feel, knowing that I am sure you have 100% trust in your equipment and self. Confidence must be everything down there, it’s the difference between coming home or not
