See this is why shows like NCIS: New Orleans are appreciated by locals there, but here we detest LoneStar 911 cause aint none of that shit shot here.
An EMS medic told me the LoneStar 911 came to Austin to film the intro. The rest of it is filmed in Los Angeles. I guess Rob Lowe doesn't want to leave home. His loss. We have Ethan Hawke, Kyle Chandler (I ran into him with his family at Whole Foods), Elijah Wood, Jesse Plemons (academy award nominee), Matthew freakin' McCognagheuhewey, Robert Rodriguez, Robert Rodriguez, Ro.... oh, sorry, I got stuck. And other famous people.... Sandra Bullock, and others. Austin is cool.

"Alita: Battle Angel" filmed the underwater crashed ship scenes at McKinney Falls Park.
Revolution (2013-2014), American Crime (2014-2016ish), Everybody Wants Some (2015?), Men Women & Children (2016-17?), My All American (2016-17... true story about UT football player Freddie Steinmark), Divine Access (2016), On Fire (2021). I'm sure you included Miss Congeniality (I didn't watch the whole clip). Robert Rodriguez rules Austin! From Dusk till Dawn and recently Hypnotic. Fortunately a lot of films and tv shows are returning to Austin. Everyone was leaving to go to Louisiana and Atlanta. Welcome back to Austin, y'all!!!
You forgot Second Hand Lions, a lot of that was filmed around Pflugerville and Austin.
When I was a kid that was the only movie I had and I would play it on repeat. 😊 never knew that movie was made in my hometown.
Ya missed DOA in 1987. They filmed all over and on 6th St. Sure do miss the old Austin days. Was a much better place back then.

I don't think that was Stiles Switch at 1:35. I think they used a pool hall just off of Airport (near 45th), across the railroad tracks.
And the high school in dazed and confused was Reagan.
It is not Stiles Switch, but it is in that parking lot. There is a little placard that marks the spot

It's really a shame how many of those iconic locations are now the sites of cookie cutter condo buildings and generic big box type stores and restaurants. I really miss the old Austin I moved to in 1994. I was lucky enough to catch the tail end of this town's quirky greatness before it went full "woke", and for that I am grateful.
