I got an sv trim... hasn't hit 1k mikes yet.
It really a nice car. I had an explorer and I didnt like the fact that I downgraded in size but the fuel efficiency makes up for it. It good for groceries, lugging work things and any other random stuff although you wont be able to move furniture around with this car and the backseat wont be able to hold 3 adults... more like 2 adults and 1 child or 1 adult and 2 children.
The sound system is great although no speaker in the headrest for the sv trim.
All in all, I'd recommend this car for anyone looking to downsize or for maybe a college student, first car purchase, small family, etc.
The most important though....
I'm 6'2" and weigh 135 and it's really good with space inside. I have had people behind me and if you bring the driver seat up to a reasonable driving position then there a decent amount of room behind you. If you like to drive with your seat further back then there isnt as much room behind the driver seat.
Also, the front seats dont fold forward, for those trying to get better at the backseat gymnastics 😜😜😜 so that's a bummer but still have a decent amount of room for fun. I'm also not a fan of the groves on the back seats where the left and right seats go down a bit and the middle seat feels a little like sitting on a pommel horse.
All in all... 8/10 for the sv trim and 9/10 for the Sr trim because of the better sound system and 360° back up camera.
I paid 25k for mine after financing, taxes, etc.
Hey there I was wondering if u live in Canada or the states? I'm getting a quote for about 28k for SV trim in canada
@@ivory1177 I'm from the states... I think for 28k you might be overpaying. I believe i got mine for 25... but i kind of knew people at the dealer so i was able to get it significantly cheaper.
One thing, if you're able to get the highest trim level i would do that... i think it was only like 2k more but it comes with speakers in the headrest, a 360 degree camera and something else that I forgot but think that the extra money is worth it. I wouldve done it...
Hey prime thanks so much for getting back to me. I realized 25kUSD is about 30-31k CAD.
So I think 29k CAD for the SV trim isn't too bad. Includes winter tires and 7yr oil changes... Its too late for me now anyways to change my mind, just signed the contract! Pretty excited!
Thanks!!! Getting mine Saturday!
how do you like it? what year did you get?
Signing papers on my kick today after work. Can’t wait!!!
How do you like it? I’m going to the auto lot tomorrow to look at one.
@@ItsOliviaDuhh I like it. It’s comfortable and no blind spots.
Any complaints after ~2 months of use?
@@IdHitThatWithMyTruck so far nothing. Will see how it handles in snow since it’s only a front wheel drive.
@@anitadoctor4629 ah I see. I was about to pull the trigger on the 2020 Kicks SR but then I came across the 2021 model reveal and it got a huge facelift! Now I’m debating between securing the 2020 at a discounted price or paying a little more for the newer version 😬
I wonder how the reliability will be on this car. I’m happy it’s a NA engine but the transmission could be iffy.
The speakers in the driver headrest is very cool. I feel Nissan missed a great opportunity to offer AWD and two engine choices. Will the 2020 Land Rover Defender be reviewed on your channel Andrew?
Venue or Kicks ?
I have a low milesage 2008 Saturn Astra XR that I like very much minus the coupe configuration. It’s 4 speed automatic with about 130 hp. The 18 inch allow wheels are fairly grippy. Would the Kicks be a good car to consider?
shiiiiit that intro bro . daamn
I have always been a lover of Nissans, but have had quite a few problems with my Kicks since I bought about 3 weeks ago. The air only blows super hot or super cold (Nissan dealership told me there is nothing they can do about this, so I am either going to be super hot or super cold when I drive), whenever it rains or snows my AEB malfunctions, and it is hit or miss if the remote start will work for my car. I am definitely disappointed in this car and think this may be my last Nissan that I own as a result.
Thank you.
Any plans on reviewing Lincoln Aviator Grand Touring Hybrid? Thanks!
1:22 that stop sign did not get any respect what so ever :D:d
Nice review
Thanks!

Wooow, I had my kicks for about a week now & didn’t know it had sports mode 😭
😂😂 wow
Me too. I just found out accidentally!
how do you like it?
What is sport mode?
@@jenniferc7200 the Nissan kicks was an amazing starter vehicle however I traded it in for a Nissan Rogue 2022.
210 mm ground clearance is great for this type of small SUV
Do you still have stangosaurus
I do 👍
Can you make some more videos about stegosaurus I’m in the market of getting a 2019 I’ll because of stegosaurs I love the wheels and I love the way she looks
6:32 the bulldog look. lol
What kind of gas does this car use
Regular 87.
I really dont understand the gimmick of CVT. Only 36mph highway isn't that good. At least my cvt impreza is awd and gets the same mpg as this and its got more power.
Weight. That's about it.
I belive that it's less shifting for the transmission so its able to get better fuel efficiency?
With a full tank I'm able to get roughly 330 miles out of it. Although driving around the city seems to lower the mileage a bit vs driving longer distances on the freeway.
Best mileage I got was 40 miles/gallon... at least that what the best mpg the navigation computer recorded.
Many many problems with ours. Engine stumbles and stalled out... injectors and fuel pump replaced but it is returning. Auto brake system started slamming brakes on by itself. Sensors replaced but problems returning. Transmission is slipping and grabbing on moderate acceleration. Dealer says there is no problem but it is getting worse. Problems started about 14,000 kms and continue now at about 55,000. Dealer is unable to fix problems properly and at first denies there are problems but only fix the car when it breaks so badly it cant be driven. Very unhappy with Nissan and the dealer.
Latest update. In for attempt number five to fix the engine stumbling problem. Getting snotty attitude from dealer service manager complaining I gave her too much detail about the engine. Funny I thought that what I did in direct response to her request, was what she wanted. Silly me. :(
Such a mediocre engine in the Kicks with the 1.6NA. This vehicle needs some more power, and frustrating that Nissan does not offer anything additional. A 3 cylinder turbo would be a great option that Nissan offers overseas, but we are stuck with the single engine choice, with the janky CVT.
I agree.. Nissan has a 1.3 Turbo with 170hp "available". It's used by Renault/Mercedes. The A-class sedan uses it. Incredible engine that would push not only the sales of the Kicks but Sentra as well. Since
I have one and I use for commuting and it's honestly fine.
I'm not a big car guy and wouldn't be able to talk shop with you but from my experience with this car, 900 miles/2 months, it's fun. It feels like I'm driving a big go cart.
The acceleration is very decent when merging on the freeway and once you hit like 60+ miles it's a really nice cruise. I got up to 80, 90 miles on the freeway and it didnt feel like I was going super fast until I looked at the speedometer and let go of the gas.
But if you drive in the streets you can feel it take off.
I was looking to buy a honda crv but it was out of my budget but this car was a really nice alternative with a lower budget.
@@prime3106 Thanks for the insight. As an affordable commuter, the Kicks is probably decent at a lower price point. I find the lack of AWD a major shortcoming as I drive in snow several times a year. I am also annoyed that Nissan only has a single engine option, and in Europe the same Kicks gets a 3 cyl turbo with more power, and a better torque curve, and wish that Nissan would bring that engine over the the US for the Kicks.
That's why people just skip this and go for the Koreans with their 1.6T and 175hp....
Nissan is using one of the worst CVT transmissions there is.
