In the case of Gustav it is widely believed that his taste for human flesh was due to him eating the corpses of the massacre victims that were dumped into the river, and that it was only a matter of time before the croc switched his taste from the flesh of corpses to the flesh of people still alive.
They didnt even list half of his maneater kills. He killed more than mentioned. Muktesar maneater, Thak maneater, Mohan maneater, Talla Des maneater to name some others.
Excellent. I'm glad Gustave was on this. There's so many lists that don't include him despite his high kill count. Bloke ate hippos. Usually crocodiles don't mess with hippos. Even baby ones are able to Hulk on Loki smash a lot of crocodiles. The lesson is do not mess with Gustave....or hippos. Mostly hippos.
That is one crazy and fascinating story, I've watched a bunch of RUclips videos and docs about him. Even crazier to think about what his actual body count might be.
Hence why owning them is borderline irresponsible, honestly. As someone who only survived a wolf dog attack thanks to a fence separating us, I will never trust one of them.
Jim Corbette was a literal legend. And he’s a conservationist today, he was just trying to protect people and later advocated for both sides of the story
Wild animals are dangerous. Wounded animals are even more dangerous. Always keep your distance. Never let a weapon give you a false sense of security. It is best for both humans and animals that we keep out distance from each other
It's a hollywood distortion of a really interesting and thrilling story that vastly exceeds the film version or thrills, drama and pure fear. And seeing that kilmir actor telling a seriously false version feigning expertise in a documentary about the incident exemplifies what artificial drivel some people will believe. It's such a ripping yarn it would be difficult not to make a compelling film about it, but they had a good try
Lions on display at the museum are much smaller due to people cutting off pieces for souvenirs prior to sending to museum. Fantastic story! Excellent movie with great actors. Henry Cele (Shaka Zulu) is in it. Even though tigers are the larger cat, Lions are just so majestic and magnificent. Lions are my favorites!
@@lamzofunani actually they killed her in 2018. That Tigress killed 13 people. That wasn't latest but anyway here's some different news. In my city, CCTV caught the footage of Leopard roaming around and that place is only 5 kilometres away from my home
In 1916 almost 80% of the shark attacks were done in fresh water. Back in the 1950's they pretty much knew that it was Bull Sharks in the rivers and lakes. Now on the beach in the ocean, thats a different story. I don't know what they ended up saying it was. They should have been able to match the teeth markings and had their killer or killers. Im pretty sure that even back then they knew that all the different species of shark have different bite patterns.
It's surprising how many of the cases are from India and specially at least 5 from the Himalayan state of Uttarakhand, my own home and it's still a rare but true danger till this date, but still people have lived here without hating the animals that's a quite big count considering it's from world history
They were actually small fry in the kill count, this list misses plenty that were more prolific man-eaters than the Tsavo lions. The lions stopped the construction of the Uganda railway for a few weeks though, so they had the best press agent available. The tsavo lions got about 27 confirmed, the Njombe pride got about 1500.
Just when I thought my home state's reputation couldn't get any worse, were apparently responsible for this country's universal fear of sharks. Bravo Jersey. I hope to never see you again. 🤣👍
Place more blame on Peter Benchley. He took inspiration from that event to write the jaws novel, which was an instant hit thus creating the panic. The jersey shark event pretty unknown until then
James White, The Champawat Tigress and the Panar Leopard have by far the highest number of human victims for any individual animal though. I think the Rudraprayag Leopard was the most cunning, however.
On confirmed numbers (not hollywood hype) they aren't. By a long way. They picked their moment by temporarily stopping the railway construction. The Thak man-eater did a similar exercise, but she had a problem. Corbett, she only got about 5 before he called her up to teh end of his barrell and put a stop to it.
This list was everything I expected but you didn't mention the Sundarban Tigers who should easily be #1, killing up to 50-100 people are year, since the 1940s, and are still active today. Many generations of Tigers but they are Real Life Man-Eaters.

if you really look at it, its mostly human activities like poaching/uncontrolled hunting that leads to this predators to act this way. I mean they were forced to hunt and prey on humans because of what we did to them. So yeah its not their fault their predators who can easily fuck a puny human being up so what do you expect. Even if you add all this human casualties and times it by 100 it wouldnt even come close to how much of death and misery we have caused the animal kingdom.
not true, How many animals do you think all the tigers, hyenas, lions, crocodiles and bears kill when combined together? Poaching is wrong, but we can't still say “humans deserved it”. Have you forgotten that innocent children died as well? How do you think the families feel?
I love hearing stories of people getting eaten by wild animals it help me to remain humble most people have the notion that we humans are above nature sometimes nature reminds us with diseases, storms, earthquakes and wild animals that we are just a spec beneath her nails
Well I guess keeping humble is good but loving stories of people being eaten by wild animals seems to lack any slight bit of empathy. 🤔 I don't think you would be loving these stories if it happened to one of your close friends or family.
I recently read that tigers are the most dangerous of the big cats because they are quote " Vengeful ", if a tiger is hurt by a human in any way they will not stop until they find their rival.
Please don’t demonise wolves or any other animals. Wolf attacks on humans are extremely rare. These are the exception, not the norm. Wolves are generally very shy of people…
I don’t think she’s demonizing them. Wolf attacks on people are rare, but not non-existent. Note how most of these attacks from wolves come from old times or wolves who had grown accustomed to living close to humans. Wolves now don’t have the boldness the wolves on this list had. You’re honestly more likely to be attacked by the pup sleeping in your bed than a pack hunter from the wild.
She isn’t demonizing, merely pointing it out. It is a fact that wolves have attacked humans in the past. It would be foolish to ignore that. Now does that mean we should go killing them? No, but a healthy respect and aversion to being around wild wolves benefits both the human and the wolf. We leave each other alone.
Not disagreeing with any of these.... read somewhere these cases aside, an estimate of 1 out of 10 attacks over 100 years by wolves has proven fatal. Might be outdated on that
Patterson was not the source of the 135+ kill estimate for the Tsavo lions. He clearly stated they got about 27 railway workers, and speculated an unknown number of natives (Africans) might also have been killed when he discovered a den that contained human bones and some native fashion ornaments/jewellery. Hollywood got hold of the story and presented a very imaginative version that faintly resembled the real story, which Patterson described in his book (and needed little embellishment, it was dramatic, with photos)
Proof that all cats are badass: A man eating Tiger was finally killed and they theorized it killed humans because someone shot it in the eye and just kept on keeping on as a killing machine.
FYI, the shark responsible for the Jersey Shore attacks was proven to be a Bull Shark 🦈, & only 1 shark was responsible due to the nearly identical bite radius on each victim. I submit though, it's recommended that hunters wear some type of bright orange clothing, so as to not be mistaken for an animal. Why then can't beach goer's at least be informed as to not only the potential presence of sharks on a particular stretch of beach, but what attracts the shark's. If there's a spike in attack's in a short period, why not make it a fine to wear bright colored bathing suits? I know that's a stretch, but even still, if u won't make it a law, then post some signs & inform the uninformed? 🤔🤔
The ghost and the darkness...they are a legend, its on my bucket list to get to the field museum and see them....great movie to, not accurate but still a favorite.....
It's pretty hard not to feel that an animal is a monster after it drags your screaming child from their bed and eats them. Animals have been known to kill for fun and rape and take slaves, all kinds of stuff that people only think humans do. Check out this Instagram called "Nature is Metal."
If you were a human living in earlier times when modern society didn’t exist, then these animals would be monstrous. Being afraid of wild animals is apart of our DNA. It helps us stay away from them and survive.
I remember reading the infamous stories of the indian man eaters when I was in elementary school. Pretty gruesome and picturesque details by the hunter
There used to be a tiger, at Gatorland, that they said ate a 10 year old boy in India. Although, it was taxidermied and behind glass, it scared the crap out of me. In my defense, I was 5. A few years ago, I contacted them about the tiger. The guy said it had been years since anyone asked about it. He keeps it in his living room and not in a case either.
The Jersey Shore shark attacks happened in my hometown of Matawan. We learned about the attacks and then we watched. Btw the attacks weren’t in the ocean it happened at a lake
There were three ocean attacks and two river attacks. The river attacks were the reason people suspected a bull shark, because they are capable of thriving in freshwater.

It wasn't all Jim Corbett
I'm sure he only ate young and dead hippos. There's no picture to support that he killed hippo himself.
Yeah, never mess with the coldblooded ones, Crocs and sharks are super killers, streamlined for hunting since creation.
7:09 Wolfdogs and coywolves qualify as hybrids, with the first being harder to domesticate than normal dogs.
Hence why owning them is borderline irresponsible, honestly. As someone who only survived a wolf dog attack thanks to a fence separating us, I will never trust one of them.
Aren't animals just so beautiful.
Yeah, until they Devouring you Alive
Yep I had a beautiful beef steak today. It is beautiful
We are animals
They are 😊
YES unlike humans.......
Jim Corbette was a literal legend. And he’s a conservationist today, he was just trying to protect people and later advocated for both sides of the story
Wild animals are dangerous. Wounded animals are even more dangerous. Always keep your distance. Never let a weapon give you a false sense of security. It is best for both humans and animals that we keep out distance from each other
Isn't it sad that a lot of these animals started hunting humans BECAUSE other humans wounded and crippled them.
So that makes them victims as well.
what about the porcupine? I'm not saying poaching is good, but even without human interference, there would still be man eaters
@@chukwukaobike6537 yes, because humans want to build shit everywhere, remember they were here LONG before us.
They aren’t victims anymore then they are murderers. They were dangerous animals that needed to die
@@zbman1002 you dude, should go to school.

The Ghost and the Darkness is a really good movie and highly underrated.
I live in central India and believe me, there's still a Tigress that killed over 10 people.
Cool
and it hasn't been killed yet?
@@lamzofunani actually they killed her in 2018. That Tigress killed 13 people. That wasn't latest but anyway here's some different news. In my city, CCTV caught the footage of Leopard roaming around and that place is only 5 kilometres away from my home
Is it safe traveling in India?
@@jakechua6360 depends on where you go. Normally humans are more dangerous than nature.

South Indian man eater = Kenneth Underson story
Glad I have read most of them.
Colonel Jim Corbert is a Legend ... 😍🔥❤ Hunter who saved innocent lives of both humans and Animals ... Rest In Peace 🙏❤
The tigress of Champawat is a fascinating one. It would be interesting to see the story from the tiger's perspective.
It's surprising how many of the cases are from India and specially at least 5 from the Himalayan state of Uttarakhand, my own home and it's still a rare but true danger till this date, but still people have lived here without hating the animals that's a quite big count considering it's from world history

“Top 20 real life Man-eaters”
*Clicks*
I was really hoping that Hall and Oates would be #1
I got really concerned when the Tsavo Maneaters were only like number 5 😂😂
The jersey shark event pretty unknown until then
When it comes to man eaters India would be always there on top...Kenneth Anderson nd Jim Corbett are legends..
Lions from Ghost and the Darkness are always number 1 in my book....they ate up some people....lol
James White,
The Champawat Tigress and the Panar Leopard have by far the highest number of human victims for any individual animal though.
I think the Rudraprayag Leopard was the most cunning, however.
@@lyndoncmp5751 I completely agree with you...

I was going to be enraged if tsavo man eaters weren’t top ten
hehe I was waiting for it.
It's just fairytale
On confirmed numbers (not hollywood hype) they aren't. By a long way. They picked their moment by temporarily stopping the railway construction.
The Thak man-eater did a similar exercise, but she had a problem. Corbett, she only got about 5 before he called her up to teh end of his barrell and put a stop to it.
This list was everything I expected but you didn't mention the Sundarban Tigers who should easily be #1, killing up to 50-100 people are year, since the 1940s, and are still active today. Many generations of Tigers but they are Real Life Man-Eaters.
The legendary story is about wolves attacking villages in Eastern Europe during WW1 and German and Russian soldiers declare a cease fire to find kill the pack of wolves, when the soldiers kill the wolves they went back their trenches
I like how it is pointed out how many of these were known to have issues caused by humans.
Animals in India really love to turn to man eating
Half this list is in India
I think Australia has competition
Animals in India often comes into contact with humans and when they are weak or injured they feed on the weak aka humans!
Australia has no competition infront of India if you look into mest 20 animals , almost all of them are from India
I'm surprised nelly Furtado didn't make it on the list
The footage and photos in this video were so beautiful. I love animals.
This is absolutely FANTASTIC
Survival strategy for all of them:
20. Strike into the eyes.
19. Try to scare it away, then most likely die.
18. Try to scare it away, then most likely die.
17. Play dead.
16. I can overpower a wolf. Any adult can. Aint gonna be easy, but if you wear anything with fat sleeves you should be fine.
15. Play dead.
14. Try to scare it away, then most likely die.
13. Thats gonna be an epic battle. Try staying o the defensive, back against a tree. When any of em attacks you try snatching it. Wolfs may be strong, but not as strong as a human. A good whack on the ground or a kick may dissuade them from continuing the attack.
12. Wolves, again.
11. Try to scare it away, then most likely die.
10. Try to scare them away, then most likely die.
9. Try to scare it away, then most likely die.
8. Try to scare it away, then most likely die.
7. We dot know what it was. It never attacked adult males, and Im pretty sure I am larger then an avarage adult 18th centaury peasant, so I deffo have chances, but we dont know enough to say for sure.
6. Try to scare it away, then most likely die.
5. Trick them into going in the time portal that leads to cretaceous(if you know, you know)
4. Run away from the water as fast as possible.
3. Try to scare it away, then most likely die.
2. Try to scare it away, then most likely die.

if you really look at it, its mostly human activities like poaching/uncontrolled hunting that leads to this predators to act this way. I mean they were forced to hunt and prey on humans because of what we did to them. So yeah its not their fault their predators who can easily fuck a puny human being up so what do you expect. Even if you add all this human casualties and times it by 100 it wouldnt even come close to how much of death and misery we have caused the animal kingdom.
facts
Absolutely true.
not true, How many animals do you think all the tigers, hyenas, lions, crocodiles and bears kill when combined together? Poaching is wrong, but we can't still say “humans deserved it”. Have you forgotten that innocent children died as well? How do you think the families feel?
I just feel there should be a barrier between the humans and animals to avoid more unfortunate events

Top 20 Kenneth Anderson kills
Tigers are pure works of art
Basically if it has claws and sharp teeth then it can and will kill you
I love hearing stories of people getting eaten by wild animals it help me to remain humble most people have the notion that we humans are above nature sometimes nature reminds us with diseases, storms, earthquakes and wild animals that we are just a spec beneath her nails
Well I guess keeping humble is good but loving stories of people being eaten by wild animals seems to lack any slight bit of empathy. 🤔
I don't think you would be loving these stories if it happened to one of your close friends or family.

Wolves are generally very shy of people…
True
Might be outdated on that
Boy Jim Corbett is a legend
Do top 10 or 20 Kevin Michael Richardson roles.
I wonder if the cat that 'drank blood' had an injury or deformity that kept it from eating properly.

Hell no
How much time do you have to practice those pronounciations? You’re amazing 🤩
So half of them only attacked humans, because they were attacked first and were handycapped and had to do so. :D
Jim Corbett is a badass
He was known as gentleman Jim.
Very competent, not a badass.
Other cats like lions are rather peaceful and pacifists compared to tigers, they are the most vengeful animals.
When is a movie going to be made about Jim Corbet 😳 Dude was a LEGEND
That is happening more now. Along the coast in Cape Cod there are huge signs warning of man eating great white sharks.
A moment of silence for all these legends
The only thing that scares me in Paris is Pepe Le Pew.
The ghost and the darkness...they are a legend, its on my bucket list to get to the field museum and see them....great movie to, not accurate but still a favorite.....

I feel sorry for the poor animals. They were depicted as "monsters", but they didn't do it out of evil.
Only humans do things that considered evil. Animals have no sense of right or wrong, so they never kill with malice.
@@alex_spartan1805 Well i mean some animals do like killer whales that likes to torture other animals
We are still evil though like the most evil
It's pretty hard not to feel that an animal is a monster after it drags your screaming child from their bed and eats them. Animals have been known to kill for fun and rape and take slaves, all kinds of stuff that people only think humans do. Check out this Instagram called "Nature is Metal."
If you were a human living in earlier times when modern society didn’t exist, then these animals would be monstrous. Being afraid of wild animals is apart of our DNA. It helps us stay away from them and survive.
@alex_spartan1805 yes they do you know nothing about animals

This was terrifying to watch.
