Geddy is masterful at emoting the lyrics and music into a powerful message
Very powerful.
Yeah he is...indeed.
"All of us get lost in the darkness; dreamers learn to steer by the stars..." Another powerful lyric from The Professor. Another song you may like is Mission from Hold Your Fire, whose lyrics speak of the importance of finding your passion and holding onto it, just like Rush did for over 40 years. Cheers from Toronto!

Alex's outro solo off the Show of Hands version nearly brings me to tears. And as a college kid trying to make it big in music, that song held special meaning to me.
This band has a way of speaking to your inner core and your moral compass
, I have been a fan since 1974, in my early teenage yrs I went through some hellish times an very deep struggles and locking myself in my room with my Rush albums and my headphones literally changed my life for the better and I’m so thankful for this band 🤘❤️🔥
I am enjoying this journey so far. Amazing music, concepts, writing. Glad their music helped you along the way 💪
This band is, was, were the most perfect match of band members that was and ever will be. Saw them 5 times, the last time on my birthday for R40 in Tampa. Perfection personified.
Geddy's voice is a human synthesizer.
"Christ what have you done" is one of the most chilling lines in the entire Rush catalog. Could also have double meaning. The obvious meaning and the the "Jesus Christ....how could you allow this to happen to such a good person" meaning. Peart is a genius.
Incredible writing.
Wow Carl, I never caught that double meaning. Thank you!
@@juliewensel4468 Welcome:) Peart is even more genius than many people realize. lol
@@carlgibbons5777 Genius both with lyrics...and in the percussion department.
This one has gotten a lot of fans over some hard times ... including me - - Great song!!
I had to tear up my 'Biggest Rush Fan' card years ago. I didn't even recognize what album this was from, I didn't recognize the title, and figured it was from one of their last 3 albums. But it's PRESTO, and I just listened to that the other night! In my YOUTH, I memorized all the lyrics, in my older years, not so much. LOVE this song, and most from PRESTO. Many start out 'slow' and I was initially disappointed, but realized that they all BLOSSOM into something great - each in their own way!
Always a good day experiencing Rush with you!
Thanks so much for spending some time with me!
Your reaction was just as moving to me as the song. I can see when songs touch souls. Thank you for your vulnerability...it's a rare and beautiful thing.
Really powerful song. Thanks so much for being here ❤️
“Taking your own life doesn’t mean things won’t get worse, it only guarantees things will never get better.”
And it’s an act that hurts the people around you the most! I had a friend that killed himself and to grieve him and be so mad at him for not reaching out are very hard conflicting feelings that are difficult to recover from!!
@@juliebrockett3471 agreed. I’ve lost far too many friends and family members to suicide to ever understand how bad it must be to feel like that is the only option.🤯😢🖖
🤗 Lets lighten things up with a really fun Rush fan favorite 'Red Barchetta' about a good old fashion chase scene where the good guy "gets away" 🏎️... 🚓🚓 Or maybe 🥁 Neil Peart Drum Solo Live in Frankfurt! 🫶🏿🥰🐰
These are definitely on my list. Who doesnt love a chase scene 😀
People don't always believe me when I say this and " Subdivisions" are my favorite Rush songs
Enjoy the Rush ride.
Rush is Timeless.
Looking forward to more.
When I was suicidal someone wise told me 3 things: 1) Most people change their mind half way through the attempt and there's no turning back; 2) Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem; 3) In my next incarnation, I'd have to pick up where I left off and get another chance to work through the darkness. Needless to say, I'm still here. Thank you for another moving reaction my friend💕
Definitely a wise person. I believe the same things. I am glad you are still here ❤️
Seeing your visceral reaction to the lyrics and music was refreshing in this world... I've lost 7 friends in the last 12 years, and this song really hits me between the eyes!! Thank you for your amazing reaction!
Sorry to hear about the many losses in your life. I can definitely relate to that. So many people at this point. Thanks for being here! Appreciate you ❤️
Everytime i hear this i become like a chia pet . My hair on my arms just stand up
If you love lyrics, you've found the right band.
I do! Looking forward to more.
Great song that has saved a lot of people!! They were talking a lot about the how it’s glorified in the mainstream! These things that seem SO BIG are usually just bad times that will eventually pass if you’re looking for the light in the darkness!! Be well and God bless… from Texas!!
Incredible song and yes i agree, the darkness will pass too if you look for the light. On some days we just have to look a bit harder. Much love from Belgium.
RUSH proudly Canadian!! 40+ years of great Prog-rock! Great reaction video!
Thanks for watching!
A very powerful song with an important message. A lot of us have been there especially in our teenage years. Myself included. Fortunately I stuck it out and things did get better. I just turned 70 and although there have been ups and down in my life just like everyone else I am glad to be here. Life is a precious gift.
Ghost Rider from the same concert is another one to check out and YYZ also from Rio is a banger!
Cheers ❤
This is a very inspiring comment. Thank you so much for sharing this.
Neil was always addressing real world topics in his lyricism and had done so much reading and writing he could distill the words down to a reasonable amount to make it work in a song. When you couple that with their musicianship you have a song that despite its darker content is still enjoyable to listen to.
That was indeed Beautiful.
Yes, this song did help tremendously! People ask "why do you love Rush so much" and all I have to do is point to this song. And notice how we know all 3 of these guys are masters and Alex can shred on guitar with the best of them, yet they step back and just let the lyrics take over.
They are so good. Glad i discovered them, although late, but grateful nonetheless.
Neil's lyrics took Rush in a whole new direction when he joined the band in 1974. Whether it was sci-fi stories or songs like this addressing teenage suicide, they were just the band for me. One of Neil's finest lyrics in my opinion are in a song called 'Losing It' from 1982's 'Signals' album. Well worth checking out.
Props to the Professor... and thanks to you for carrying his message forward.
Big props! This is an incredible song!
I think YYZ from this same concert is wild….600,000 people singing in unison…. To an instrumental!!!!!
That sounds wild indeed!
I think you meant 60,000 :)
Yeah sorry 60,000… I miss counted the heads lol
Some half million was in Toronto, SARS concert.
It was 60,000
Beutiful emotional song, you must check out the Garden on the clock work angels album. Brings tears thinking of the professor Neil Peart RIP 🙏
Agreed 💯! Saeed, you MUST react to The Garden. You already know very well, what a lyrical genius Neil Peart was. The Garden is just another prime example of the many masterpieces Rush produced. Personally, I think the song brings tears to most of us Rush fans. I KNOW It does to mine. RIP Neil🕊️🕊️😇😭
I can empathize, brother. We lost my best friend’s nephew. I didn’t know he was hurting. I didn’t know he needed to hear this song.
Sorry for your loss. A lot of times we dont know. And a lot of people are ashamed to talk about their struggles. Songs like these are very important and powerful
Powerful reaction Saeed. I appreciate your frankness in your commentary.
Thanks, Michael ! ❤️
Rush has a great ability to pen powerful lyrics and play music to match. Along these lines, please check out "Available Light" and "Ghost of a Chance." Check out the studio versions with lyrics. Both songs have the ability to bring out emotions you may have forgotten. Love the reactions, keep it up Saeed...
They absolutely do. Definitely want to check out those as well. Thanks for watching and the recommendations!
I think I was about 18 when the album Presto, this song is from, came out. So many great messages from this album. This song reminded me to keep chasing my dreams and don’t give up. I think you would like Hand Over Fist, Anagram, and In the Available Light.
Will add these to my list. Definitely want to explore more. Thanks.
Sorry for your losses. Glad you're still with us, man.
Thanks, appreciate that. Grateful to be here 🙏🏽❤️
A fun Rush song that I think you would enjoy is Anagram. When you see the lyrics, you will understand the song title.
Definitely interested in checking that one out.
You touched me bro. Thanks. Enjoy your Rush journey. You have allot ahead of you.
Thanks for being here, brother! Looking forward to more Rush.
Another beautiful reaction... not everyone gets this stuff... glad you do!
Bravado from the same concert should be next :)
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Definitely want to hear that one as well.
I don't normally respond to reaction videos, but this one moved me. I'm glad you got this song and unfortunately, can relate to it. Neil could always write with such emotional insight that touched many. Listen to 'The Garden' off Clockwork Angels, the last track on the last album. A lesson on life if ever there was one, always makes me tear up given he's no longer with us.
Thanks so much for taking the time to comment. Incredible writing on the songs i have heard so far and this one carries an extremely powerful message. Will add your recommendation to my list.
wow you already got the meaning of this song.
Incredible song. Great performance.
It was Rene Descartes who said " I think therefore I am" 🙌
Oh, yes! Thanks!
Yeah this is a song used to play a lot when this came out way back, used to play it on guitar also, but like yourself, and my own dealings in this subject, and know people who have been effected, be this tragedy. I feel for your loss brother. Rush is great for writing about the human condition. Rush has literally been my therapist since the seventies and right now lol. Great reaction thanks
Incredibly powerful song. Thanks for sharing that, appreciate it. Music like this can definitely be therapeutic.
@@SaeedReacts. Your most welcome
Bravado lyrics are profound. The Pass is an incredible song. 💜 Neil wrote this song after a friend's child committed suicide 😢
Heavy song, very important.
awesome reaction. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you!
You can find more Oscar Wilde in Resist song. A great live acoustic video. Xanadu is based on Samuel Coleridge poem, Kubla Khan. Mission song kinda has Xanadu's alternate title in the lyrics.
Rush had plenty of nuggets for ppl who read.
Thanks for the recommendation. Incredible lyrics in their songs.
When my high school teacher first introduced the concept of "I think therefore I am", My smartalec high school self said, "But i've been wrong before." Everyone laughed and thought it was hilarious. But as I reflected on it, I came to a similar conclusion that you just did in the video. I understand what Kant meant philosophically, but too many have come to the conclusion that was my smartalec response for real... Caught up in the thoughts about how wrong they are in their thoughts, attitudes, actions and situation.
Beautifully said and thanks for sharing your experience. Glad you still reflected on it and came to your own conclusion. Its not easy to do when your thoughts and feelings are immediately dissmissed. Especially in a high school setting.
Love your reactions and I recommend Natural Science!! Great story and very applicable to today even though it was written in 1980.
Thanks so much. That one is on my list. Definitely will check it out. Have a good weekend.
🏆🏆🏆🏆!
Hi! He keeps his voice after so many years. They look well currently and live, this isn't usual in this kind of music. Thank you for your explanations. If you agree, I would like to recommend an artist called Chris Klafförd and 3 of his songs. I add the links below. As always, they're just suggestions, you know. Take care 👋🎶

Thanks for the recommendations. Will add them to my list. Have not heard anything by this artist. Hope to find the time to check his music out at some point.
@@SaeedReacts. Chris usually sings Rock and has a great voice. I recommend you because I think you will appreciate him and also your viewers. Nothing's wrong if you don't find time 👋
I think you should consider YYZ next! 🎵☺️
That one is on my list.
Really is amazing!!! Crazy !!! Love the reaction! ♥ Romans 12:1-2 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God-this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will.
❤️❤️❤️
Powerful? Lol
I believe so
