"All of us get lost in the darkness; dreamers learn to steer by the stars..." Another powerful lyric from The Professor. Another song you may like is Mission from Hold Your Fire, whose lyrics speak of the importance of finding your passion and holding onto it, just like Rush did for over 40 years. Cheers from Toronto!

"Christ what have you done" is one of the most chilling lines in the entire Rush catalog. Could also have double meaning. The obvious meaning and the the "Jesus Christ....how could you allow this to happen to such a good person" meaning. Peart is a genius.

I had to tear up my 'Biggest Rush Fan' card years ago. I didn't even recognize what album this was from, I didn't recognize the title, and figured it was from one of their last 3 albums. But it's PRESTO, and I just listened to that the other night! In my YOUTH, I memorized all the lyrics, in my older years, not so much. LOVE this song, and most from PRESTO. Many start out 'slow' and I was initially disappointed, but realized that they all BLOSSOM into something great - each in their own way!

Neil was always addressing real world topics in his lyricism and had done so much reading and writing he could distill the words down to a reasonable amount to make it work in a song. When you couple that with their musicianship you have a song that despite its darker content is still enjoyable to listen to.

Neil's lyrics took Rush in a whole new direction when he joined the band in 1974. Whether it was sci-fi stories or songs like this addressing teenage suicide, they were just the band for me. One of Neil's finest lyrics in my opinion are in a song called 'Losing It' from 1982's 'Signals' album. Well worth checking out.

Everyone laughed and thought it was hilarious. But as I reflected on it, I came to a similar conclusion that you just did in the video.
