Nice video. I already have the X2HR & have seen several reviews of the X3 and nobody has really recommended them so far. More or less echoing what you've said. They've gone backwards and not built on the qualities of the X2/X2HR. You probably put them on the headphone stand quickly while shooting the video but you really shouldn't hang them via the adjustable headband but on the rigid headband part itself.
@@VortexReviews1 Yes & I should stop buying them according to the wife 😂 I have been watching a lot of the IEM videos lately although I really don't need a new set. I have a few IEM's & TWS as well as various in ear & over ear headphones (too many to mention accumulated over the years). Currently I seem to be switching between the Beyerdynamic DT1990 & Sennheiser HD599. I also have the dreaded ATH-M50X/M50's, Fidelio X2HR, Samson SR850 & various others. IEM's - Moondrop Starfield, KZ ZS10 Pro & Fender FXA5. TWS - Lypertek Tevi & Galaxy Buds Plus.
I have an X1S, which I really like. It's basically the bridge between the older X1 and the X2 since it has removable ear pads. It's not really my favorite, but I like it enough to keep it around. It is very comfortable for me to wear. Don't you just hate it when you pay full price for a product you find you don't care for? I guess these will find there way to the used market.
I wouldn't spend cash on these even if I was buying for 1st person shooters. Save your cash and get the SHP9500s instead. Very comfortable, good imaging and soundstage and, for the price, the sound is really decent. Build quality on the SHPs, again for the price, is excellent.
From what I understand, the team that made the originals was more or less poached piecemeal as this division was bought and sold by every single corporation that took ownership afterwards. I wouldn't be confident in any other audio product bearing the Philips name. Re:cables Awful. Copper braid doesn't have enough memory for how it's packaged to matter. Just an extremely cheap cable :c
FOr us to support this channel fully, dont skip the ads, if we do this, more great reviews will come from Vortex.
Thanks very much.

Cheers Howard. Indeed about a backwards strep and yes I just put them on the stand like that just for the footage. Do you have any other headphones?

Are the x2hr as good or better than the x3?
@@bradhuskers I prefer my X2 over the X3. I don't have the X2HR but heard they are basically the same as the older X2.

I have the X2 and I find them fun unlike these new ones and they were worth the price unlike the overpriced nature of these.

SHP9500 can still be a bit bright and the SHP9600 would be the one to go for at the right price.
The Philips X3 shouldn't cost more than 150$.
I agree.
God these are awful! The X2 is sibilant as f**k but these take it to a whole new level. They do look really nice though if you can tolerate the sound.
I agree John and such a shame really and I hope their next one is a return to greatness.
@@VortexReviews1 does the SHP9500 suffer from the same issues?
@@raisinnotnice They have different issues from memory and fixed with the SHP9600.
As if there weren't enough headphones already that are too sibilant.
Indeed.

Awful. Copper braid doesn't have enough memory for how it's packaged to matter. Just an extremely cheap cable :c
Such a shame about what they are as a company and the crappy cables.
Maybe Price
Expensive indeed.
