From what I have read on the legend of Osiris, there are a few differences in what I myself learned. 1: Isis's lamentations for Osiris never killed any nearby newborns. In fact even after one of her personel bodyguard scorpions stung a child out of vindicativness for his mother not sheltering Isis, Isis healed the child nonetheless. 2: There is some arguement as to what ate Osiris's phallus, some accounts saying it was a crab, with the replacement being made from clay or even gold 3: From the accounts I heard Isis was pregnant with Horus before Osiris died. 4: There is some arguement about whether Isis accidentally stabbed Horus and if Horus actually beheaded Isis. 5: Some believe that Anubis is Osiris and Nephthys's son or Nephthys and Set's son. Edit: 6: Isis (from what I learned) did not gain a cow's head after being repaired, that was actually Hathor, the goddess of love, music, and fertility, the counterpart to Sekhmet, the lion-headed goddess of war and bloodshed. In other words, yes, VERY CONFUSING, what with the constant reiterations and translations across history.
