Oh my goodness! I don’t know if you remember me but we met as we were leaving/you were going into Joann’s in Tulsa last year and you told me briefly about your new small business. I lost track of IG and didn’t remember how to follow you over time. Now I was searching for sewing videos for my baby due in April and I happened to have found your channel! Love it so much. Can’t wait to try these patterns, Courtney! Xo
Oh my goodness, of course I remember you! We should meet up soon - I always thought that was so cool we met outside of Joann's. Congratulations on your baby on the way :)
I guess at some point in my watching this video 799 times to sew this as a beginner I had accidentally hit the dislike button and just realized during my 800th view and correct it to a like lol. I definitely couldn’t follow this pattern without the video, and appreciate the guide!
Definitely, due to the oversized nature of this one! You can add extra buttons or snaps at the straps if you want to help it grow with your little one.
Hi! I love this! I’m a beginner with sewing & my new machine & would love to make these for my twin toddlers! How do I print this pattern? Do I need to purchase it?
Oh wait! I just rewatched the beginning and see I need to purchase. Do you have any free patterns for beginners? I’m hesitant to purchase any pattern just yet since I’m just starting out and don’t know how well anything I make will turn out lol
Hey Angelina, I have some free tutorials on this channel and send out free tutorials every month on my email list - you can sign up here: eepurl.com/h11nJ5
I need this in adult sizes now too🤣 I had my eye on an outfit similar to this but it looked like a scam site so I want to try making my own! I definitely want to practice making one for my baby first though
@@RooneySewingPatterns yes, "trying" 😆 I am a mom of boys though, so I miss out on the cute mommy and me outfits, and this would be absolutely perfect!! I have never been a cute dress kind of person anyway🫶
@@RooneySewingPatterns also, as a beginner I am so glad the algorithm showed me your page. I can't follow patterns yet and I am more of a "watch someone and recreate it" type of learner. In cosmetology school the head sheets (think of patterns, but for hair) were the death of me and I would never understand it till I just watched someone and did it myself. So thank you for helping people like me who want to cry when they see the flat pattern and think "what does this even mean" 😆
I was super excited to make these but realized the pattern is sold out on your website 😭 Any idea when that will be back in stock or if I can purchase the digital option? 🙂
I’ve never sewn anything before and have heard that cotton flannel is the easiest to sew with for beginners. Could you use 100% Cotton flannel fabric? Also what kind of stitch would you use when making this piece? Would you use a straight stitch for the whole thing?
I recommend using quilting cotton to make these overalls. For me, it is easier to sew than flannel. Flannel would still work well, though. Whatever fabric you use, remember to prewash it so the overalls won't shrink in the wash. You can sew these overalls with a straight stitch, but I recommend that you *then* finish your raw edges with a zig-zag stitch. I'm not sure how to explain it, but Evelyn Wood has a good tutorial here on RUclips. The video is called "How to finish seams without an overlocker - zigzag stitch tutorial and pinking shears". But no matter what you decide to do, please remember to be gentle with yourself, especially as a beginner. I hope you have fun in the world of sewing.
Im having a hard time putting the pattern together. I printed it out in 13 sets of paper and I need someone to please help me by making a video of how to put it together!! Please
Hi Ally, Not a dumb question at all - the pattern I'm using in the photo is my own personal pattern drawn on a large white roll so that's why it is on large paper. When you print the pattern at home, it prints on regular printer paper and is taped together. We also sell our patterns pre-printed on large paper and can ship them to you :)
What fabric would you choose for the Rhodes overalls?!
💙 Linen, organic cotton
@@radutoda9482 always a favorite material 🤍

Super excited to not only try my hand in sewing these CUTE overalls but to support a Small business! Thank you for posting helpful videos as well!
Oh thank you so much for the encouragement, Victoria! Can’t wait to see what you make ☺️

Thank you 🤍🤍🤍
I love it! super easy. thank you!
Thank you 🤍☺️
Should you use a walking foot for stretchier material?
Yes! You should - this will help the foot glide better over the fabric :)

Hey! Would you say this is a pretty good grow-with-me outfit as the kid gets bigger?
Definitely, due to the oversized nature of this one! You can add extra buttons or snaps at the straps if you want to help it grow with your little one.

Curious… do you use a lightning stitch when sewing knit fabrics on your machine? I’m about to sew some overalls for my grandson ☺️
Hey! Yes, when sewing knits I use the lightning stitch and make sure to use a stretch needle. :)
the link takes me to a 404 page not found 😢😢😢

What kind of sewing machine do you have?
I have a Baby Lock Grace! Its discontinued I believe but I love the Baby Lock brand :)
Where do you print the pattern from? I've never seen before so idk how to find paper that big. Sorry if that's a dumb question

great idea, thank you!
Why don’t you show the end results towards the end of the video?!
good question, we're always learning how to edit better - you can see them at the beginning and see photos on our website :) Thanks!
