    I love it when educational bodies dont even know the correct terms for what they teach about,heads up the official name is "type 2x"i have no clue why people call them type 2b outside of maybe feeling like "x"is not proffesional enough ,it should also be noted the type you have is dependent on multiple factors including genes but also training,and it is possible for fibers to convert over years of training to a diffrent type based of the training itself.I also see some person going "type 2x are very rare,only gazelles or cats have them"they are rare within the body ,but ,everybody has them ,some people have more some people less.
    Within your body ,within every muscle!there is all types,just to diffrent amounts, and this should really viewed as more a spectrum of "fast twich to slow"then concrete types as there is alot we dont understand and the existence of "hybrid fibers"proves it.
    edit:i know i came off super rude and mean but look this is basic stuff and this is people we trust to teach our youth

      Can you give insight on how to train the slow twitch fibres? Or the hybrid ones? I’m a girl and I want to become stronger without getting bulky

      ​@@Noname-177most of your muscles are hybrid muscles. Do lots of endurance training like jogging for long periods. If you work with weights dont go till failure use light weight and more reps but dont push it to much. Hope this helps

    Just to let y’all know type 2b is very rare.Gazelles or house cats have them but they are not very large but very springy.

      Does this affect the stability of the muscle? I can do every thing at a faster pace and can confidently say im stronger than most . But my muscles twitch when i flex them . Im wondering if this is the same case

    Doing explosive workouts gets 2x fibers heavy lifting gets 2a and endurance training like running gets the type 1 fibers, you can recruit all finer types but cannot be great in all of them, for me I train all 3 but focus on type 2x and 2a fibers instead of type 1, this means I’ve got more muscle mass and explosiveness instead of endurance. Still I have decent endurance but I’m more on the explosiveness and strength side of things

      A scientist can take a piece of muscle out and look at it. Or you know from whether you are better at sprinting or endurance sports.

    When I do have my sporty phase I go out on a 5-7km run km what’s I‘ve hit the half way point that’s my break and I’ll go back home. I love cardio if you really work hard enough and push through your become a machine you can do stuff a lot longer sure you may not be as explosive. I‘m around 175 but I feel a little bit taller but I don’t know as for weight I’m around 60kg some days I might weigh more or less all depends anyway naturally my body has and always will be built for Slow Twitch. I kinda wish I had more explosiveness just to see what it would feel like. I’ve tried hitting the gym and trust me it’s not for me I feel uncomfortable and I’m more of a cyclist or runner but more so cyclist especially uphill nothing better in my opinion.

      you will notice this to be true, when boxers reach a higher weight class, they do end up becoming slower, logically it makes sense since you are heavier in general and carrying more mass. even though your muscle didnt slow down, you are practically carrying extra pounds that need to be moved. so the extra muscle you gained is like having a 2nd engine, sure u get more power, but the car is now heavier and so even though your first engine never slowed down, the fact that theres more mass will cause it to not move as fast

      Yes it can, you can also get a mix of both depending upon your training. For example NFL athletes have mixed type 2a and type 2b. As they train weights and then they also sprint and do explosive exercises

      Idk but I turned my fast twitch to a slow twitch by running 10mi 2 days a week. It was hard at first, I always gassed out at 1.5mi but eventually like every training does, you get results. I can still sprint moderately fast, not as fast as I used to which was like 17mph

      No you cant turn the type but instead u develop new 2b muscle by weighted fast low rep and intensive training

      No dude being skinny doesn’t mean u have slow twitch fibres most people like to believe that because marathon runner are skinny almost muscle fibre are basically genetic and the thing abt it is it come with all type of body marathon runner are usually skinny because they mainly focus on activity that developed up slow muscle fiber

    So what are type 2 fibers then? You didn't say. I think you mean that type two are found next to type 1 rather than they are a mix of type 1 and type 2

      endurance and power. (1 and 2)
      but POWER has a hybrid. a semi endurance power muscle,
      but still not an endurance muscle.
      your endurance muscle can work all day long even more than a day long EX: working on a school project for 2 days without sleep.
      but your type 2 cant do that, evne with training. ex , why boxers despite all that training will not be able to fight an 8 hr match. eventually those arms are going to get heavy. even if they are "endurance power" hybrids, because at its core, they are still power muscles

      The only way to find out is take a chunck of muscle and do a biopsy. But you can do excercises to see if you have fast twitch or slow twitch muscle fibers

      Slow twitching muscles are red muscles such as the muscles of eector spine and back. While fast twitching muscles are white muscles such as the muscles of eye.

      2x is very rare, only 1 in 10.000 sprinters posses these. I learned on youtube :-) also i think there are like 10 muscles types, not just these 3. lot of hybrids.

    Btw slow twitch muscles have limited capacity for growth. Therefore, if you are predominantly slow twitch, you should stop trying to invest time at the gym to ‘grow muscle’ since it wont happen. Don’t waste your time, and do something more productive or fun, like playing a video game.
