I actually hate automatic watches, they cost more and are worse in every way, I want a watch to just work and be accurate.

Agree with almost all of these points about the various casio models, there are definitley a load more underrated gems out there. Its good to hear a watch enthusiast who isnt just a luxury watch fan boy

My watch collection consists of 9 watches, 4 of them being Casio watches, 3 of them are G-Shocks; and all four of the Casio watches I use as beaters because they are so reliable and tough that I wear them to places where I am not willing to subject my automatic watches into should I wear a watch (unless it's a diver watch, in that case I beat them too regardless of movement). Watches to me are tools, and I heavily rely on them to tell the time and timing what I need them to time...plus they look good too! Incredible collection there

You like the casio calculator watch? you *need* to see the DB-32. It's more waterproof, has a backlight, has a dot-matrix display for day, operation, mode, etc, and a 25-contact phone-book, and so many other random features

So many watches with so little time. Never owned a Casio but have being using Timex since school to now. It has never failed me. Never owned a Leatherman either, only mod generics, they too never failed. Some people are collectors & some just have to much time on their hands. Cheers mate.

If you want to make your M630 perfect, just add a size 20 Barton Canvas watchband like I did. Quick release spring bars(makes watchbands easily interchangeable), 12 colours to choose from, far more comfortable than titanium or Stainless steel bracelet, and gets over the micro adjustment problem for a perfectly comfortable fit. I've got ten of this model with different colour watch faces and various colour canvas bands in my collection to select for
my mood or to match my attire !

Nice collection. I usually wear a Casuo Duro, but I acessorize it with different Nato straps to match what I'm wearing. For formal occasions I'll put it on a metal bracelet, but this keeps me from wanting to get a different/new watch

You mentioned to comment on any additional analog Casio's to check out, I recommend the HDA600B. It is a super tough and cool analog, not too big, has bull bars to help keep the crystal from getting scratched (I believe it's a better quality crystal as well as it is from the HD series), 100m water resistant, lume on the hands, 10 year battery and tactical looks. It comes with either all black dial which looks better in my opinion but a little harder to read, and also a white dial which looks like it would be easier to read but I don't think it looks as sharp. They are $20-25 too. Check it out.

I just started getting into Casio. After wearing, breaking, and now just storing, nerd watches for years, I have been SO excited to find a solid watch that matches my ascetic and needs! I have the same 53W (which I use every day at work), a sport W800H, and the basic DW5600. I already have the next 4 Casio I want in my cart, and a couple coming for the kiddos. I absolutely still want the Casio Royale in the metallic band! Cheesy and iconic. And of all the EDC collectors rabbit holes, $30 and less for items in a collections is a much more affordable route than knives! Great video!

I own the ae1200, the basic black version, on a single pass orange rubber band- I purchased lug adapters- I can switch straps any time I want to, and it looks cool, and extremely functional for me. I don’t think it’s overrated..
I also own a g shock 2100, and I really do need all its robustness, WR and functions . 3 days a week I work in water🤷🏼‍♂️. The dw290 also fits well for this activities.
I use my two g shocks GST for the 2 days a week I work at a sports center.
    Great vid👍🏻👌🏻

My AE-1200 keep switching time zones all the time too.
Also agree on the metal bracelets... It just feels unbalanced putting metal on a plastic watch and painting it in silver.
Might get 5600 or CasiOak next.
As much as I love my AE-1200, CA-53W, and Timex MK1, I hate bumping around plastic glasses and getting it scratched.

I have the AQS800. I loved it for about 1 year. It finally got to me that I cannot see it at night, and the backlit area is so tiny. Without my reading glasses, I cannot read the small screen. I opted for the GAS-100 next (GAW-100 if you want Multiband 6), as the entire face lights up at night, and the 3 windows are much larger for the date, day and seconds. I still have the AWS800 and wear if I'm painting or something like that.
I really debated on the Lineage, as it's a really nice watch, and the entire face lights up, but I wanted a G-Shock, and already have a premium watch.

I have a Casio Royale with metal bracelet, even though the little frame in mine is black and not grey, and it's the best watch ever for me. Why? Because I'm a flight attendant, so the metallic look goes well with my uniform, and I get to switch time zones with a simple click while still having my home time showing in the analog diaplay at all times, plus all the other functions and the cool little world map highlighting the time zone where I am, 100m wr, and 10 year battery. I got it as a gift, which adds to the emotional value, but if I had paid for it, it might have been the best bang for buck in my entire life 😄
Edit: I don't have the issue of unintentionally changing modes, maybe you wear it a bit too tight? 🤔

I fully agree with you regarding expensive mechanical watches. I'm interested in mechanical watches from an engineering perspective, but nothing else. They aren't as accurate as quartz they are expensive to maintain, a waste of money and I do not like analogue watches. When I first saw a digital watch in the 1970s that was all I wanted.

  • @thomasparker8085

I had the same problem with the Casio Royale. I found that when I bent my wrist it would change the display. The button position being 90 degrees is what it is. Heh at least it was only $20.

    Thanks for sharing your collection.
How is the legibility on the Red GA2100 ?
Legibility is probably the first thing on my check list when buying a watch, but red hands on a red dial, makes me think its not the easiest to read at a quick glance.
Also if there was a list with the best bang for the buck watches, the Duro would be high on that list.

Really nice collection! Was looking at the limeage waveceptor models for a while but i read a lot about the bracelet feeling a but too cheap on all of them. That's how i stumbled upon the casio oceanus line. A bit too expensive right now. But one day i'll probably pull the trigger on the s100 model.

Love my black Casio Royale and using it all the time to check on the time while communicating with office and customers from different time zones.
Agree on the buttons that could accidentally pushed.
Other than that, it is the best cheap, unique looking GMT watch that can check on 5 time zones (including home time) and switch any foreign time zones just pressing the top 2 buttons. Also can go under cuffs easily. Not to mentioned it is 100m water resistant.

I have a 12 watch collection, 4 of them Casios. An AE1200 in black, a GAB 900, GBD200 and a ProTrek PRG110T and without doubt my ProTrek gets the most wrist time. Titanium band keeps the weight down to 88 grammes, solar powered, altimeter, barometer, digital compass, 5 alarms, hourly alarm, countdown timer, stopwatch, 40 time zones and much more. My go to watch for exercise most days and it's been to the Himalayas twice. G Shocks are great but, I don't think the ProTrek series gets enough exposure.

kept time withing seconds a year

then there's those BIG watches with tiny T-Cell like batteries -- OMG!!!

and my Suunto Vector CR2050 battery is impossible to find anymore

    $16.16
    On Amazon:
Armitron Sport Men's Digital Chronograph Nylon Strap Watch, 40/6623
I bought this watch for the Police Academy in 2010.
My Academy was paramilitary. This watch WASN'T expected to make it outta that.
    It's still on it's original battery somehow. That's 2010-2023.

For the value you get a watch that's NEVER been beaten ime.
It's got alarms, date, time, stopwatch, military time, & water resistance.
