+MiaMeow I've been a big fan of horror for nearly 40 years, yet didn't bother finish Pan's Labyrinth. I thought it was dreadfully boring. And that monster with the eyes on the palms? Creepy when you initially see it, but it quickly stop making any kind of sense. If it has the eyes on the palm of its hands, how is it supposed to do anything else with the hands, without going blind? I laughed at it, and can't help think how stupid it really is. Fear is triggered by various factors, some which have been essential for the human race to survive since we started to walk upright. Some might be more in control of their feelings and able to rationalise their situation, assuring themselves the threat isn't real, but there might still be a physical reaction....To explore ones hidden fears and watch what instincts might cm show up, even through one might rationally know it's just a film, it's not real etc., is part of the fun, in my opinion.. And also how one responds to certain noise or musical patterns, associated with "danger , threat, be aware"....
I think the Alien should be #1 and the Creeper should be in the Top 10 but overall, I love your list very much! Predator should have been mentioned though
PYR0F0RCE haha I guess I missed that list. Xenos are creepy as hell but I adore those monsters. Predators are cool too plus the Thing BUT my personal #2 is Body Snatchers. They always scared me

I think that there were some scenes he wasn't even SUPPOSED to be in, but decided to anyway to see how many people he could piss off.
NattieChristopher I really do hope that he get's better. He's brought so much joy into our lives. We've lost David Bowie & Alan Rickman this year alone. I don't know if I could handle losing Tim Curry
+Omer Khan I would say the one from "An American Werewolf in London" is the scariest. " Stay Off The Moors" was probably one of the scariest scenes in a werewolf film.
To give an idea on terrifying the Pale Man scene is I met Doug Jones recently, and that yes he is one of the nicest guys you will meet when he touched my hands it felt pretty damn weird (Probably also because he had long bony fingers just in general). And when I flat out said it he jokingly responded “see? No eyeballs”
It played well with old instincts and fears, a secluded area, far away from civilisation, more or less on their own, running away is not an option in this climate, being more or less helpless because the threat isn't easily identified, can't easily be destroyed, is infectious, from outer space, it's not known what else powers it might have, paranoia rises, ....
So ironic that you call it stupid nonsense as you're arguing about it. Must not be that stupid then, eh? And actually it does make sense because people can watch movies and not fully understand them without looking it up. And no it wasn't bragging. Keep telling yourself that. If you understood the movie, you would have brought the psychological part up but since you didn't, you show ignorance. Which is why I said what I said. It's actually the whole reason I responded. You don't have to like the movie. But don't show ignorance. Also, I don't care about your GPA. Boasting about it on RUclips doesn't do anything. People can still be morons. That's the beauty of it. And they can also be ignorant like yourself.
Are you too dumb to realize not all horror movies need death and gore to be good? And yeah, you're still a moron. You can have great IQ and still have no common sense which you're showing you have no common sense when it comes to movies being able to be good without your limited mindset of physical harm and death. And keep saying that I think I'm trying to be smart when I'm showing how stupid you are. Also, if you were as smart as you say you are, you wouldn't give a shit about what I say enough to keep replying. But keep going. This is entertaining.
I saw one fucking minute of "The Thing" when I was a kid, probably when I was five or six. It was the dog transforming, and my mom changed the channel before anything else happened. I want to see "The Thing" SO bad because it looks like a really creepy movie, but that one scene still sticks in my head and makes me wimp out. I'm seventeen now. That is some effective body horror. Or I'm just a chickenshit. Or both. Definitely could be both...
To be fair, Im 23 but any movie with animals being harmed/ killed are harder to Watch for some reasons and the scene with the dogs in that movie made me want to cry my ass off. so you're not alone bro lol
People actually find the Insidious one scary? I was laughing my ass off when I saw that film, he literally has a fist fight with the devil. The film was good up until he entered the crazy world and fights the demon.
I actually watched the movie in Mythology class. I think the Pale Man is an alternate interpretation of the girl's stepfather. Trust me when I say he's even scarier.
I thought the werewolf from American Werewolf in London was terrifying, especially the howl! Surprised it wssnt on here. Glad the Xenomorph and The Thing were though. Good list
+Cosmic Panda For me all of him scared but for some reason his butt scared. it just i don't know it was just blaah to me as a kid. I'm not trying to be funny
I know this monster isn't from a movie and might not be considered the scariest monster in a lot of people's books but I always found the Weeping Angels in Doctor Who to be terrifying. Seriously, the episode "Blink" was what got me watching Doctor Who in the first place.
Haven't watch the video yet but here are my predictions for the top 2 1. The "alien" from the alien movies, that thing gave me nightmares as a kid. 2. The "thing" from the movie the thing, I used to have nightmares that my brother was the "thing" XD I used to keep my distance from him.
+Colonel Teehee It was certainly more realistic, and James Arness was one big dude. Had some good comedy moments in it as well, usually from the reporter. Hated that scientist. That said, I've only seen "The Thing" once and that was plenty.
+Colonel Teehee I honestly would view the original movie as The Thing 1 and the 2011 one as The Thing 2, since the original is the American crew and the 2011 is the Norwegian crew. But it probably impedes too far on Dr Seuss' copyrights of Thing 1 and 2 in the cat in the hat.

I agree but I'm Mexican
Hey man I saw it when I was 12 and I loved it
Watch "The Thing" dead meat kill count. Search it on youtube
I saw that for the first time when I was 17, and wanted to tujrn it off after that xD

I was so "scared" of that thing when I was a kid. The scene with the scarecrow... Fucking hell
+Brandon Nuevo Don't know about #1 but should have been top 10.
I agree. Maybe not #1. Top 5 though for sure. That movie fucked me up when I was a kid.

The hand monster from Pan's Labyrinth is FUCKING TERRIFYING.
+Le Ronan IKR!

***** yo cholo shut the fuck up nobody ask yo scragly lookin ass either bich east side nigga!
I actually watched the movie in Mythology class. I think the Pale Man is an alternate interpretation of the girl's stepfather. Trust me when I say he's even scarier.
+Le Ronan the girl was so stupid!
I thought the werewolf from American Werewolf in London was terrifying, especially the howl! Surprised it wssnt on here. Glad the Xenomorph and The Thing were though. Good list

Paleman is the scariest thing ever. I watched it when I was 10. 😭
The Revolutionary Militant Atheist! I watched it when I was way younger

Yeah no
Wert Gamer idk man that shit was creepy
Underrated movie
I find the pale man kinda derpy looking
I honestly think the older Pennywise was more creepy. The fact that it was old and from an old movie terrifies me.
I agree
When I watched The Exorcist I couldn't sleep for two days, no joke.
when i watched the thing, i literally pissed myself, Havent slept well for 2 yrs.
after watching excorsist, i just thought i will throw up.
+David Musil it's the scariest shit
maria montoya excorsist is lame, i couldnt be scared of horror when the monster is making jokes about my mother.
+David Musil wow, you should rewatched it, it's really scary but it's ok it's your own opinion
I feel ya
I know this monster isn't from a movie and might not be considered the scariest monster in a lot of people's books but I always found the Weeping Angels in Doctor Who to be terrifying.
Seriously, the episode "Blink" was what got me watching Doctor Who in the first place.
Some of those monsters like "The thing" Is the most disgusting monster ever. Yuck!
The thing is truly horrible, I can only stand to watch it once in a while, or the appearance of it is simply too much to handle.
Allison Luvs 2 Draw The Thing (John Carpenter) is fucking awesome, still watch that now & then & it still holds up.
The Thing was always going to be number one. I'll never forget seeing the film at 9 years old, and the countless nightmares it fuelled.
The Babadook is also terrifying
Is it just me or am I the only one who thinks the baby thing from eraser head is cute......
FaZe Crafter I do too, I felt sad when it was cut open
its just you. just...just you
FaZe Crafter the alien?😂

Thank you for showing that scene of Ripley, that's my favorite...smile
The crooked man from The Conjuring 2 always scares the shit out of me 😱😨😖
Cute Kitty ya
Haven't watch the video yet but here are my predictions for the top 2
1. The "alien" from the alien movies, that thing gave me nightmares as a kid.
2. The "thing" from the movie the thing, I used to have nightmares that my brother was the "thing" XD I used to keep my distance from him.
Wow didn't expect the thing to get 1st place I was sure the xenomorths would've gotten it
alien wasn't that bad and I was 10 when I saw it I thought it was cool thougj
i didnt think aliens were scary but i alwayz tought that they were awesome looking
+TomDaBoss 28 same
The original movie the thing was really the best.
What the one made in the 40s that was in black and white
Yeah...
...no
Truuueeee
Me saw Xenomorph in number 2 : What's wrong with you WatchMojo ???
Also me saw The Thing on number 1 : Oh. Okay then.
vicky andrian “is there anything scarier than an intelligent alien species?” Yeah number one on the fucking list 😂
