And, yeah, I agree with you. He's an amazing talent. 😃
I knew he "got it" when he said that when he got to NY, he really found himself more at home at the scrappy stuff going on downtown. What a legend.
Willem is the only actor, i could imagine to play Mick Jagger.
i was thinking tom waits. as in willem dafoe playing tom waits i mean.
Jagger not worth it.
Willem Dafoe will forever be one of my favorite actors of all time. The man the myth the legend.
I love how he directly talks to the students, feels personal like a classroom rather than a interview.
This was a wonderful interview. Pedro is fucking excellent, and Willem… absolute legend.
i adore both of these actors holy crap
Seeing them interact is making me overwhelmed
Right? I found this and all other activity stopped.
I've always been a fan of Willem Dafoe but had never seen him interviewed. Being from Wisconsin myself, though also having a bit of a nomadic existence, I am so glad to see he has retained his midwestern personability. Both actors here are incredibly talented and also seem genuinely thoughtful and kind. So glad I watched.
Pedro is such a great interviewer. I'm so glad he got to do this with Willem
If you didn't know, the main reason why Williem has such an unusually high level of insightfulness, attention to detail and pretty much always appears to be in a relaxed and well composed way, is because he is a long time meditator. He is probably one of the most advanced meditators of all the high paid actors.
Ahhh I didn't know this but I believe it straight away. He seems very present and compassionate. Question: where did you learn this? This fact I mean
reading all the bromance posts, i don't think i can watch this presentation sober
Willem yelling/singing out “I’m a hippie” is probably my favorite thing he’s done.
The fact that Dafoe never got to play the Joker is a tragedy. He wouldn't even have to act, he could basically just be himself and it would still be perfect.
Holy shit, it wasn't until he mentioned Lawrence University that I realized he was from my home town!!
"There was.....a....FIREFIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Holy crap Willem and Pedro together, this is awesome
Pedro is really good at this. He should do more of these with some of his co-stars. That would be cool.
His presence, even through a computer screen, gives me goosebumps. Such a great artist, and an even greater human being.
Willem a huge actor. With Pedro they are two great artists. How incredible and pleasant a conversation when there is so much talent together. Great both.
His character in boondock saints is underrated imo
He's the best part of that film
I never allowed myself to say this because it’s sacred for me, but if a movie about Bowie was ever done, Dafoe is the man for it.
He is right up there with Meryl Strip, Viola Davis, and two or three more.
What an absolute legend. So inspirational. One of those rare people that makes you want to do better, be more passionate, go the extra mile no matter what your career is. So insightful and genuine. Humble, great energy, truly a genius.
This interview had me glued to my seat - there was this incredible energy/chemistry between Willem and Pedro.
"Listen. It's a tribe, and you're looking for your identity" Thats actually very deep.
Agreed. I also liked when he described playing van Goh and he said he let the words wash over him, he let himself react to them like a poem. I knew exactly what he meant. For me, it's like listening to lyrics in that song that suddenly transports you somewhere else in someone else's world. But you feel you belong there.
Amazing talent but an even more wonderful person, it's nice to see that Pedro and Willem finally get to work together in an upcoming project.
Willem Dafoe is a closest thing to a real world wizard in my mind. Such a nutter, u just can not not love him. Brilliant man.
He played the lead role in an Australian Film 'The Hunter", SIMPLY BRILLIANT.
Got it on Blu Ray.
Crazy movie
One of the best actors of his generation.I first engoyed him as Raven in the Streets of Fire, and followed him ever since. The versatility, the passion for his art...not to mention he was one of the BEST Jesus AND one of the best vampires, ever.Thank you,Mr.Dafoe.Thanks for everything!
Me, live and die in la.
And Pedro !
Pedro is a real darling and thank God for actors they take us to a different place by laying themselves open to ridicule or praise to inform and entertain us which is lovely for us in our humdrum life.
I have no Words to describe how much I adore People like William Dafoe. He has a noble and self confident attitude and hes spreading nothing but positivity with it.
As most people I first recognised him as Green Goblin and from there on fell in love with every single performance he did.
In a Way hes like Mark Hamill, very passionate and creative with everything hes working on, but he also knows his Limits.
The Fact that one of his very few conditions for returning in spiderman 2 was to wear doc oc's suit once, says basically everything you need to know about this wonderful Gentleman
Willem
i first saw Willem Dafoe in 'The Hunger' by a phone booth with Susan Sarandon. it was a brief scene, and another actor from 'To Live and Die in L.A' was with Willem Dafoe. John Turturro and an actress from 'Frasier' were also in 'To Live and Die in LA'.
But you don't even know his name.
Love him in Boondock Saints!!!!
@@lapacesiaconvoi The Hunger is a wonderful little seen gem, an Willem is brilliant in it.
The greatest thing about this video for me is learning that James Lipton's legacy is being carried on with the continuation of Inside the Actors' Studio.
One of my favorite Willem Dafoe character is "Rick Masters - To Live And Die In L.A." Such an underrated movie
This was the best interview I’ve seen. His questions were very good and it looked like Willem Dafoe really enjoyed answering the questions. Amazing interview!👏
Willem Dafoe is one of the all time greats. Pedro is gonna be the same one day. I love watching these guys on screen.
Willem is still clearly so excited by his work...love this guy!!!
Hey isn’t that Zazie Beetz in the crowd at 8:29? That’s awesome!
Yeah lol
36:10 Ellen Burstyn
@@illuddivinus3309 actually Burstyn is an executive producer of this interviews wich is cool
18:27 dixie rect
Its a small world when anyone focuses on their brilliance :)
The GOBLIN VOICE!!!!
Willem is so cool omg. A massive inspiration for both wanting to be an actor and wanting to be a good person. He seems so chill and genuine, and is incredibly talented!
He may be type cast as a scary figure, but when you listen to interviews of him, you end up falling for the guy.
I love Pedrito...❤❤❤
Literally two of my favorite actors! I love all their works and their roles have pivotal impacts in our lives! Both are a absolutely incredible!
fine ass
I still can’t get over how intelligent, enthusiastic, charming and of course GORGEOUS he is!
man Pedro CRUSHED it!! love both these guys.
GREAT interview. Well done Pedro. Willem is a charming man.
God Damn, when ever I hear the word Actor I automatically think of Williem Dafoe, A person who genially cares about the art form and doesn't care about the money or fame
One of the greatest actors of all time. I wanna see an Oscar on his hands asap
Pedro looks like a fusion of Brando and Burt Reynolds.
He looks like Nathan Fillion's younger brother.
OK ... I keep seeing Justin Trudeau ... 🤔
freebie, you got that right!
He also looks a lot like that guy who plays the Mandalorian.
I didn't even know Pascal took over this job but he's excellent for it. With always hearing/seeing so many negative things in Hollywood it's very refreshing to see 2 guys like this that just seem very genuinely humble and kind. Really great interview
