Grenn and the other men hyping themselves up to defend the tunnel at the cost of their lives was my favorite part of this episode. I was stunned when you see that they were all dead down there. Sam swearing for the only time I can remember in the show was my close second favorite 😂
This is such a great episode. I cried when it first aired. Jon is really put through the paces in this whole entire series. I enjoyed y’alls reactions and commentary as always!
Thorne is definitely hard to take (i.e. training techniques) but he is a pragmatic leader with a lot of experience; I respect his discussion with Jon on top of the Wall. When we finally get to see him in action, battling Tormund, his skills and dedication are proven. I don't agree with everything he does, but he did not shy away when Castle Black came under attack.
then you didn't like game of thrones. it's not about battles..it's about dialogues and characters. battles are needed to give action. i don't dislike them but they are not the best part of game of thrones. it's like buying a CD metal and say "the best song is the ballad"....that can be very good but it's not what metal is
@@TheInvoker78 I agree! I don't get the all out love for the battle episodes like hardhome... The battles are great, but it isn't what drew most of us into the show. It was the all the political intrigue and intelligent dialogue and scheming.
@@TheInvoker78 C’mon man there’s no need to gatekeep like that. I loved a lot of the dialogue-heavy episodes too but this one was just a feast for the eyes from start to finish. We can have different opinions and still both like GoT. All love
@@silversailer Sometimes when the action is just that insanely great, it elevates the episode to a top spot imo. Agreed on Hardhome though but that’s mainly because most of the episode just wasn’t that good. It doesn’t come close to this episode or Blackwater, both of which are pretty much a full hour of tension and action of the highest quality.
@@silversailer hardhome is the worst of all. Blackwater, The wall (this one), bastards and the night....all better in my opinion. hardhome is not even a full episode battle.
Have you guys noticed the trend yet? Every ninth episode is an action episode, Season 1 ep 9 Ned Killed Season 2 ep 9 Stanis attacks kings landing Season 3 ep 9 The red wedding Season 4 ep 9 the wall is attacked Stay tuned for more 😊
1:37 sex outside of marriage was a part of life in GOT that's why there are brothels. The vow they take when they take the black is to keep them from breaking their honor and loyalty to the nightswatch for their honor and loyalty to love and children.
I'm not sure that's correct. I think it was probably too dark for Ollie to really see Ygritte, especially from the back. I think Ollie was just saving Jon from "one of them".
^^^^ Yeah i think Ollie was just doing what is right especially after Sam told him to pick up a weapon and fight. It is poetic justice as well with Ollie killing one of the people who attacked his village.
Alliser Thorne is an asshole yes but he’s not a coward. It’s one of the rare moments he admits he was wrong to Jon. He fought at the battle of the trident on the Targaryen side when Raegar was killed. After their side lost king Robert sent him to the wall out of respect rather than execute him.
Good analogy on Jon, Mair! 👍 Great video all around!! In case you guys don't know, Ygritte (Rose Leslie) and Jon (Kit Harington) fell in love in real life and married. They are currently expecting their second child. ❤
4:20 :) He's not in House of the Dragon, that's over 150+ years prior to GoT HOWEVER, it's very possible we may see Master Aemon in the newly announced series A Knight of the 7 Kingdoms 😁☄️🐉
Its correct to loathe Ser Alliser - but that man is DEVOTED to the Night's Watch. He makes every single decision based on his lived experience on the Wall and his oath to the Watch. He means every word.
Ygritte not scared 😂 she’s being active lol I think they’re just doing that for perspective. I do love how it kinda looks like a video game there for a sec with the breathing and all 🤣
Oberyn technically did win 🤷🏽♀️😂 The only person in GOT who is old enough to show up in HOTD (200 years before GOT) is ________________😏 not Maester Aemon. We will probably see a Young Aemon in the newly announced A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms series, though. The wall is 700 ft tall, 300 ft thick, comprised of wood, stone, ice, stretches from one coast to the other and is sealed with magic. The gate was the only way the wildlings were ever coming through.

I know what character you're talking about. But I won't tell! Hahah!

I don’t think this is spoilers: there is an Aemond Targaryen in House of the Dragon, but it’s not the same as this one. The Targaryens loved naming many generations of people the same name.

The fact that Jon and Igritte got married in real life speaks to their on screen chemistry.
I think it speaks to lord snow needing glasses 😂

Maester Aemmon isn't in HotD. It takes place like 200 years before this time-line

How Ser Alliser sees Tormund as the most dangerous foe and immediately went for him

Such a great episode. One of the coolest battles in the show with a great story and characters to go along with it. Jon is so badass in this ep!
I'll be honest , this battle came out of nowhere for me. I wasnt expecting any kind of battle.

On first watching.. igritte was boring to me, i was glad she was clapped.
But after more watchings of the show, i learned to enjoy igritte.

"Sam didn't die!" "Let me not speak too soon let me shut up" 😂 The amount of trust issues that this show gave ppl 😂😂
