Some are really nice but some of them are nearly rotten and very crumbly . Never had the chance to hunt the creeks but the guy that took us had some killer creek Tallahatta points .

      That acidic soil does a job on some of that low quality TQ. It's the same with the creeks. The high quality TQ, like the snowflake, holds up great while the low quality doesn't. Thanks for watching Cliff.

    why are the points so deep under ground. Just curious, what causes the artifacts/ points to be 3 to 4 feet below ground? Love you videos ...looks like a lot of fun

    • @HeartbreakerRelics
      @HeartbreakerRelics  3 года назад +1

      Thanks for watching and for the question. There are so many factors that affect how deep the artifacts are. One is manipulation of the soil as in clearing, logging or plowing. In this case we believe the spot was level by machinery several years ago to put in a food plot for deer.

    • @HeartbreakerRelics
      @HeartbreakerRelics  3 года назад

      We have a formula we use to look for sites, high level ground just out of the flood plain = the possibility of artifacts. Keep in mind thousands of years ago there may have been water where there is none now. This particular site has a spring close by.

    That was an insane day!! Y’all got nice soft dirt too! I mainly hunt water, how do you find places like that back in the woods??? And why are they so deep in the ground??? How did all that soil get on top??? I want to try n dig so I’m trying to do homework. Thanks

      Thanks and that's a good question. We use a formula. High level ground just out of the flood plain + water = the possibility of artifacts.

      @@scottnock5241good question. That's what we're trying to figure out too. There's no rhyme or reason.

    Can someone explain to me why early people would leave so many good points and preforms behind? I've seen several videos where many good points are found within a relatively small area.

      Thanks for the question. Remember, these were tools for these people. They didn't hold the significance we put on them. They made them every day. Also they didn't have the storage capabilities we do today. They just put them in the best place they could and may times were lost in the clutter. Last, when they moved from one place to another they didn't want to carry any more than they had to so they "cached" some things so when they came back they would be there for them. Many times they either never made it back or simply forgot where they left them.

    Condolences and Prayers are going out y’all’s way. How do y’all find these sites?

      Thanks! We appreciate it. We were invited to this site. But we use a simple formula when looking for a site. High level ground just out of the floodplain plus water equals the possibility of artifacts. Remember that's the three things they needed to live.
