@@usernametaken5619exactly at least the ravens will probably be here again next year, this may have been the lions only shot. that’s why it’s unbelievable they’d just surrender 17 points in humiliating fashion
Nah dude the lions scored a td and could have gone for field goal in second half after scoring 24 in first half. Nah ravens zero nothing in first half and second half.
I dont understand how that was a weak call for taunting... he went to stand up, pushed the defender back down to the ground, essentially threw the ball at him, then proceeded to flex staring down at him. Textbook taunting. They call that every time. It wasnt just mouthing, there was contact and posturing
It wasn't. Ravens fans just wanted them to get away with it because they think the Ravens shouldn't get penalized, only the chiefs should. What I find hysterical is that the Ravens played at being so tough and wanted to act like they are so physical but then whined when the chiefs wouldn't just take it. Like when Tucker tried intimidating them by practicing where Mahomes and Kelce were. Then got upset when they threw his crap away. Not so tough after all.
You can not put all the blame on the offense kuz defense didnt look good until late second quarter and they had stupid penalties that kept the chiefs on the field
that play should be shown to every football player from pee wee through the NFL about NEVER giving up on a play ! one of the best defensive plays ive ever seen !
sneed is so underrated. he plays legit man to man press coverage for all these years and is never mentioned in the discussion of top CBs, him and mcduffie are legit top 10-15 corners in todays game.
I've been a Chiefs fan since the early 90s. I think Mahomes is the best QB in the league right now. But to act like this was some incredible performance by Mahomes is absolutely laughable. He put up 17 points and had one touchdown. It was the defense that won this.
Omg thank you finally not only a chiefs fan but a true fan of football in general that speaks with common sense no doubt Mahomes is the best QB in the NFL but that defense won them that game not to mention Lamar lookin shook to throw the football 💯
It was masterful how he qbd the game. He knew he didn’t have to win it and pulled an Alex or Tom. That’s good qb play, but I said the whole time people are playing with our defense Mfer we have the best nose tackle, top lb core and 2 shutdown corners lol

Ravens had many chances to comeback in this game. I was so surprised with how they didn’t run the football much during the game. Like what was their game plan against the Chiefs? The fumble, interception and penalties was really costly in the game. The Chiefs didn’t score any points in the second half but the Ravens couldn’t do anything to gain momentum. Congrats to the Chiefs for heading back to the Super Bowl for the fourth time.
Spot on 🎯. As a Ravens fan I was extremely disappointed. No. 1 rushing team and yesterday turned into a straight up heavy passing team. Had a horrible game plan and made all the mistakes in crucial time. We deserved to lose and it’s on coaches and players for our discipline.
Totally agree, that's football 101. All those coaches on the sidelines and no one said "Guys we need to run the ball". They run, and this is a different headline, no we are stuck with Taylor Swift. 😂😂😂😂😂.
Ravens’ defense did their job, but the offense wasted all the hard work the defense put in. The way Lamar was throwing was weird. Lamar strangely did not use his strength; RUNNING.
Do you think it was an accident that the KC defense FORCED Lamar to beat them by being a passing QB? I guarantee you Spagnola realized that Lamar's biggest weakness was his accuracy as a passer and he exploited this weakness....and Spagnola had a brilliant slow pass rush that forced guys to stay in their lanes so Lamar couldn't have any big runs.
@@colderbeerit wasn’t just Lamar couldn’t scramble. The ravens didn’t use designed runs either, against a team that has been shown to be weak to the run. What harbaugh and monken were thinking I will never know
@@AshS85watch the game again bro. They did a mixture of spying, delayed blitzes. Full blitzes. Contains, etc. and almost every defensive call by Spagnuolo and company was executed perfectly
That taunting call wasn't weak....it was the definition of taunting...literally pushed him down, stood over, and spun the ball at him.....Like the rule or not...those things are specifically spelled out in the rule book.
Exactly what I've been saying! That had to be one of the most deserving taunting penalties I've ever seen and people act like it was just some unnecessary call

Flowers didn't really fumble the ball, Sneed 100% knocked it out and created the fumble! It wasn't a bad thing by Flowers but was a fantastic play by Sneed
Yeah I’m saying! Against a team that struggled against the bills run game and we just totally refused to run it.. why even get cook if we don’t use him. Just sickening idk what monken was thinking
No excuses for Lamar Jackson. 10 points in the biggest game of your career? An atrocious interception with 5 mins left? Missing throws that would have been difference makers? He needs to step up in these moments. I wanted Lamar in the Super Bowl because I love his talent but he blew it.
Same, wanted Lamar to win but this is all on him. The pressure got to him, he’s shown he can pass at an elite level but in the playoffs he just doesn’t do it
no excuses for lamar, but it all starts at the Offensive coordinator who gameplans for lamar to throw 30+ times when the run game has been near unstoppable and KC didn't exactly have a chokehold on it in the first couple of quarters... its almost as if the early response by zay flower and the bomb lamar threw, led them to believe this game had to be won in the air somehow when they have such an outstanding running game .... I think you're missing the point that Dan Orlovsky brought up so eloquently..
Gus Edward’s averaged 6 YARDS PER CARRY! And Monken said “No, I don’t want to do that”. Ravens offense was built upon balance and they went one dimensional without even needing to.
KC took away the run man, Ravens were stifled early & often on the ground. KC forced Lamar to throw the ball to beat them, which did not bode well for BAL.
Did you watch the game? He had one good run and got stuffed 5 times. Don’t read into that yards per carry stat too much. It doesn’t tell the story. Chiefs were stuffing them 9/10 times.
@@phillyphan1346 they didn’t take away anything, Gus Edward’s literally had 3 rushes for 20 yards. That’s the workhorse running back and they also had both Dalvin Cook and Justice Hill spelling him. People talk about Lamar choking but a coordinator who willingly goes against what made them successful in a game as close as it was is worse. Chiefs should NOT have more rushing attempts than Baltimore that game
@@jimlahey3919 they didn’t even run the ball 10 times with him so what do you mean by your last statement. The whole point of a running game isn’t to get 9-10 yards a carry, it’s to KEEP THE DEFENSE HONEST. Pacheco had 2.8 yards a carry but KC kept feeding him because it forced the Ravens to play closer to the LOS. Had Baltimore kept going at it, they could’ve built the RPO and play action game from that.
This is the type of loss that can set a franchise back! This is football. A loss like THIS starts a domino effect, unraveling the team’s spirit. It was THAT bad..
I believe the Ravens probably felt like the better team that just made silly mistakes and lost. They’ll be definitely build on this, but the Bengals and Chargers and Houston alongside other AFC teams will be better next year so idk
@@jefeseason4990 questions arise, finger pointing and blame starts. Doubt about coaches, weather your top players can perform in big games. Anybody who’s watched football atleast 20yrs have seen this..
Why y’all gotta bring it to that level? Lamar still is an amazingly talented QB. Ravens would be fools to part ways with him. Unfortunate losses in the playoffs thus far in his career but he still young enough to turn it around. Not everyone can be Mahomes or Brady. He could be like a Brees or Rodgers where he gets one in an era where the Chiefs are dominant.
The Ravens game plan seemed to be: - don't bother running the ball (the thing they did so well all year long), - try to single-cover Kelce, - take several stupid, costly, undisciplined penalties, - fumble the ball a few inches before the goal line, - throw into triple coverage with the game on the line. Textbook definition of self-sabotage.
@@Hydepop19 it’s moving goalposts. he specifically said that he would rather have Lamar Jackson as the MVP (regular season) of the league than Patrick Mahomes to get me to the super bowl this weekend. and yet again, you doubt the GOAT of this era, just like Brady, LeBron, Jordan, etc! ruclips.net/video/TSQiragfTD8/видео.htmlsi=S07nU5BIpvNC727Z THIS VERY VIDEO
This is exactly what I said if that’s not taunting idk what is pushing a player into the turf then spinning the ball right on him flexing on him then jawing off…and for a play or two later to fumble at the 1 of the same player is hysterical but the taunting call was well deserved
If he runs the ball, he can pick up free 1st downs and put pressure on the defense. If Lamar did what he did against the texans he gives his team a chance to compete.
My theory is that the Ravens offense got nervous after the defense gave up 2 TDs early, which caused them to abandon the run and enter shootout mode for no reason. Lack of run game made it 10x harder to throw. Everything about this loss was related to inexperience (play calling, turnovers, personal fouls, LJ playing frantic at times). I think the Ravens get back here in the next couple years.
Do you think it was an accident that the KC defense FORCED Lamar to beat them by being a passing QB? @@colderbeer The Chiefs defense was great and made big time plays. But I watched this man Gus Edwards run for 15 yards, and then get 2 more carries the rest of the game 😂 also watched Justice Hill START the game AND take short yardage carries
I really agree with your points as a Chiefs fan, being really familiar with what's most effective against us. Ultimately if they remained collected and stayed with the original game plan, the potential to win definitely seemed there. Spags is a phenomenal DC, and KC's offense would have kept the playbook more aggressive, but it would have been a tossup.
MVS is this year's Frank Clark for KC. Lackluster regular season that didn't justify the salary. Okay playoffs so far, but clutch in the biggest moments. Such a frustrating situation, but I love that he's stepping up.
As a Ravens fan, this is worse than the 2012 AFC championship game. In that game, we had a touchdown broken up. Then,we missed a field goal at the end of the game. That game was on the road. This game is going to be hard to overcome. Because being at home.
I loved my chiefs more with a few wins than a few Superbowls. The politics and Kelce selling out to a democidal fascist Nazi esque company really hurts. Enjoy the entertainment but remember what matters
Yeah, it's on Lamar. The fact is that he hesitated throughout the game last night. It's like he wasn't trusting his instincts. And yes, the game plan did suck, but despite that, they had their opportunities. This one is gonna hurt for a long time.
I don't think Lamar can play well under pressure. Every single playoff game he's played that doesn't go his way he starts to panic quickly, making his decision making even worse. I don't think you can coach how not to panic, dude is a natural choker.
@@backlikethe1man I watched this game 2x one with sound the other no sound they completely went away with what they do best it had nothing to do with the Chiefs defense 😂 it’s almost as if they told the Ravens they needed them to throw the game.
Pat's instincts and ability to have compassion by NOT giving up on his team mate and committing to partnering with him to make him a better player is the text book definition of a GREAT LEADER
He's a bit of a whiner but awesome teammate!! But their defense was the difference but he has no turnovers, simple outstanding!! My Eagles are home, where they belong😭😭 Good luck KC🎉
The play calling on offense was crap. Even on defense why the f is Kelce always open. They had so many opportunity to win the game, but the choke job by Lamar was so obvious like how the f is he missing easy throws and making dumb decisions.
Sounds like the Ravens got in their own way with poor decision-making, lack of discipline, and missed opportunities. It's frustrating to see self-sabotage like that in a crucial game. Hopefully, they can learn from this and come back stronger in the future.
How do you go from having a top 5 rushing offense in the NFL but barely run?? And if you're gonna keep passing while they're blitzing, you like crazy. Stop running deep routes and run short and quick routes to counter the blitz. The Baltimore Ravens, offensive coordinator looked like a rookie and had no adjustment!
Did you watch the actual game or just highlights? Very early there were check downs but Lamar never took them. He "Chose" not to take them. A coordinator can only call plays not deliver the ball as well.
@@felixchavarria8824that’s just how his fans think and operate. He can do no wrong at any point even when he’s holding the ball in the pocket for an eternity or missing easy throws for nfl qbs. Same as when someone bats the ball away and the other defender tackles the receiver anyways just to be sure.
That’s the part not getting talked about and exactly why it’s all on him. All the time he had instead of holding the ball, running like he’s known for wins the game. Regardless of Monken calling designed runs which of course he should have. This was his chance smh
He didn’t want to because he knew people were gunna say “See he’s a running back” I think he (Lamar) as well as the coaching staff wanted Lamar to stick it to these people in the comments and on tv but it ended up blowing up in their face kinda like a Pete carol calling a pass on the goal line thing sorta.
Defense played great enough to get Lamar to the finish line. That interception was just so terrible. U have time and there’s absolutely no reason you should throw into triple coverage.
The Ravens defense did what they had to do especially in the 2nd half but in a defensive battle the offense can’t afford to make mistakes. Lamar was trying to hard to prove he can win from the pocket and forgot about his legs. Run that mf instead of waiting and waiting for WRs to get open down the field. Bunch of chances for him to just run for a big gain.
Not in the first half. Kelce had over 100 yard receivings and touchdown. Mahomes completed 12 straight passes and could had had 27 first half points if kicking the field goal and the touchdown called back on a holding play. They played conservative in the second half.
It was ranked #2 so it wasn't far off from being the #1 defense. Since the Ravens offense will only play the Ravens defense in practice, the Ravens were playing the #1 defense they could ever play this season.

The Ravens were their own worst enemy yesterday. Too many stupid penalties and costly turnovers. Still don't understand why Lamar threw that pass to Likely when he literally had the whole Chiefs secondary guarding him.

Exactly the way they’re constructing their roster is New England written all over it too. They are prioritizing the defense over the offense because defense wins championships.
I agree with Shannon. Mahomes has pulled it together at the right time. Two road games. Two victories. Mahomes goes next level and the other guys shrink. That's why he's back.

This is 100% on Lamar and the play calling. Pat Mahomes and the offense went scoreless after scoring 17 in 3 drives. The Chiefs went scoreless in the 2nd half, despite not turning the ball over. The Ravens defense did what they were supposed to do. The Chiefs offense barely made it to the middle of the field in the 2nd half. The defense, after an outrageous fumble by Lamar, didn't allow a score by the Chiefs forcing a turnover on downs. They forced 5 punts. The Chiefs had 24 snaps in the entire 2nd half before their last drive to end the game. Lamar Jackson had 2 turnovers, both being on him. The Ravens regretted to run the ball at all. At the end of the game, the playcalling was a fly route on the left in every first down play and Lamar overthrew every single one. 82% of the offensive snaps Lamar dropped back when you were leading the league in rush attempts. And I understand that people wanna blame Zay Flowers for the touchback. He was the only reason why you got the ball there because he created incredible separation and got you in the redzone. He was the only reliable weapon all night. Best receiving option on either team not named Kelce. Big mistake but he played great. An absolute choke job. The Chiefs weren't giving the game away but the defense was literally giving you everything you need to make a 10 point comeback and you just couldn't because you regretted to run the ball and you made dumb mistakes. There is nothing about Pat Mahomes that was "GOAT level" play this game apart from the 2 drives they scored a TD in and the last pass he made to MVS. Him and the Chiefs offense looked hopeless for 2 and a half quarters of the game. It was suppose to be a one-sided game but Lamar and Harbaugh blew it.
@@jimbeam6691 you’re literally making excuses about punting and giving the ball to the opposing team. The best way to play in those situations is running the ball and getting first downs just to eat up the clock. And you could also go and make this a 3 score game pretty much ending the game before the clock does. They had 3 drives where they didn’t even get a single first down in the second half. You’re not getting significant time off the clock that way. The Ravens defense just locked them up in the 2nd, which is the simple truth. We’ve seen this before. Mahomes and that offense struggling to run the ball at all and make plays to get first downs. That cost them a Super Bowl appearance back in 2021 when Burrow and them boys came into Arrowhead and erased a 17 point deficit. Just give the defense most the credit considering how they saved that game in 4 different occasions
Definitely was the best game plan Andy Reid has used thus far. But it really was a no brainer. He put the game in the best player on the Chiefs and who many think is the best player in the leagues hands as he should be doing. Just imagine how many blow outs the Chiefs would have if they ditched the keep it close play not to lose conservative game plan and instead put Mahomes in the no huddle and let him call more of his own plays on the fly to get into a better rhythm. Just imagine how often teams would be forced to burn a time out to get rest or subs into the game. The defense may miss Charles Omenihu. So they need to score a few more points and chew more clock.
@@paythecreator4317 Very good point. Mahomes is already one of the best players this league has ever had so they would probably win even more games. They need consistent receivers outside of Kelce
@@JeanMocombe True. There would no doubt be far more blow out wins. They had better receivers all along on the bench. Rice, Watkins, James, and Ross all should have taken MVS, Sky Moore, and Toney's spot for all the drops, lack of mental focus, lack of desire, lack production. Rice only got on the field by starters getting injured. And Ross with his height and size a natural red zone threat with Mahomes throwing accurate passes high still hardly gets on the field. The team missed Eric Bieniemy not being there to hold the receivers and everyone on offense accountable. They missed the good cop bad cop Reid and E.B. played. Took advantage of the nice guy Andy Reid.
@@JeanMocombe I will say MVS seems to be the Frank Clark prime time big stage producer who seems to focus and care a bit more when it matters most. The signs wer on the wall on the value it would have given the team had Ross, Rice, and James had game time reps to build chemistry for the post season. And we already knew MVS, Toney, and Moore knew the offense and had repport with Mahomes already locked in.
Lamar is on a team that elevates his play, not the other way around. When it comes down to Lamar's decision-making and accuracy, he's mid. The last INT was directly thrown into TRIPLE coverage.
Then why did they start 8-3 in 2021 and lose 6 straight when he got hurt? Why did the ravens not make the playoffs for 5 years and then start making it when Lamar came? The Lamar haters are quiet when he throws 5 touchdowns but the second he messes up he’s a “terrible qb” and the ravens need to get rid of him. Give me a break and keep coping
@@Weakmencreatetoughtimes Hard to make the playoffs without a good regular season but go off I guess. Lol. Side bar: Same record as Peyton Mannings in his first 6 playoff games.
Jackson clearly has tons of talent. His playoff failures always made me doubt his potential, until this season - I really thought this was going to be where he finally put it together and got a ring. So I was surprised by what a disaster this was. He made some terrific plays but someone with his tenure and five playoff games to have learned from should never be making such big mistakes. This was a golden opportunity - every other team in the division losing their starting QBs, the Chiefs and Bills and Eagles having bizarrely off regular seasons, Aaron Rodgers out for the season, etc. No way all those variables line up again, in addition to the big free-agent turnover likely to happen. I thought the stars had aligned but just like that, it's gone.
Lamar gets better every year just to waste it. You can read his emotions, no matter how good he gets he hasn’t shown me what Flacco and what other guys had where they were always cool never rattled. That Lamar INT proved his biggest flaw. He ignored everything he did well this year and tried to be a hero he pressed.
This game highlighted what Cam Newton was trying to say with the whole game changers vs game managers convo. As a Patriots fan, the biggest compliment I can give Patrick Mahomes is that he has game changer talents, but chooses to focus and execute as a game manager because that is what the TEAM needs. This singular trait is why I have very little doubt that Mahomes will probably surpass Brady as the GOAT.
Only way Mahomes surpasses Brady is if he wins more SBs and/or does something Brady never did, like win 3 straight SBs or have a higher win percentage in the big game. Brady remains 2-0 H2H vs Mahomes in the playoffs, including the Super Bowl, and that will (unfortunately) never change.
Losing is one thing. However the Ravens and LJ were not playing the way they did all year and everything they did was out of character. That goes on the coaching staff and LJ. If they had played competitively, spirited, and played to their strengths and loss the game then so be it, that’s sports. They weren’t even recognizable yesterday.
It’s easy to say Lamar fell short and choked. I would argue that what we are seeing Patrick Mahomes do in his first 6 years as a starter, is far more interesting story. I understand in this day and age people’s attention spans are shortening and people tire easy of the same team being great. But we are watching someone who can summon his best effort every single time he hits the field. He studies constantly, and he raises the level of play for every single one of his teammates. Truly the #MVP and face of the league, right now.
Yea, Mahomes is gonna leave a long trail of opposing QBs who “didn’t do enough” or “couldn’t get it done”.. and I think it’s because he puts pressure on you to have to play a *perfect* game (and sometimes even better than that).. so any mistake is going to stick out like a sore thumb.. Mahomes leaves zero room for error..
I'm glad someone said it. I read stories during the season about how other quarterbacks are going to show up Patrick Mahomes. Really?! Watcing Mahaomes play is like watching someone think. He is in a class of his own. His advantage, beyond his incredible physical skill set, is that he thinks better on the field than anyone I've seen. I just don't think that Lamar Jackson has that skill, nor does anyone else playing.
I know people would think I'm on drugs, but Joe Burrow to me is near Mahomes but obviously not there. Outside of that nobody else is even close to your point
The most disturbing part about this lose was the ravens are offensively and defensively peaked, are 100% healthy, AND had this game at home and you could argue this is the worst chiefs team and they STILL lost to them 😂😂😂 the ravens have to know this and tbh I don’t think this ravens team is beating the bengals next year let alone the chiefs 😂

Exactly, Allen kept them in the game. Yet he was ripped apart. The Bills defense couldn't stop KC there were 5 lead changes, Placheco ran for 6 yards a carry, and KC punted 1 time. Ravens' defense played great. Placheco ran for 2.8 yards a carry, and KC punted 6 times. In the second half, Mahomes only had like 60 yards passing, and 30 of them were the last play of the game.

Too many mental mistakes esp from flowers, braindead to be honest. It was a mistake bringing back andrews after such a long time out. KC and mahomes were too good, too experienced. - throw into triple coverage with the game on the line.

Chiefs defense was incredible. Their gameplan was immaculate
Congrats for him to keep playing and demanding the most out of himself like E.B. would have forced him to be sooner. And Toney, and Sky Moore just needed someone to hold them accountable as well during the season.
Then why is their record and offense worse without him?
Then why did they start 8-3 in 2021 and lose 6 straight when he got hurt? Why did the ravens not make the playoffs for 5 years and then start making it when Lamar came? The Lamar haters are quiet when he throws 5 touchdowns but the second he messes up he’s a “terrible qb” and the ravens need to get rid of him. Give me a break and keep coping

throwing a pick into triple coverage, what an mvp
With that possession Lamar still should have had 3 TDs. So what’s the point. It was the 2 turnovers that made the MVP irrelevant not the offense.
The real mvp played in thexlate game. CM.
I dunno if some realize the magnitude of that. The injuries, off year for some. Ravens missed the boat here.

He can’t surpass Brady as the goat. He lost a head to head matchup in his prime in the biggest game in the sport against old man Brady

Choke masters. Regular season hero's.
You don’t see Lamar studying on the sidelines he just sitting there like he doesn’t care he gets paid

I'm glad someone said it. I read stories during the season about how other quarterbacks are going to show up Patrick Mahomes. Really?! Watcing Mahaomes play is like watching someone think.
