while attempting to remove bitlocker encryption from my external hdd of 1tb, which was taking huge time and when it has completed 50% I had to leave that system due to time boundation. Now that system is not accessible. And when I attempt to continue that external disk in another system it shows: "error recovering disk G: A recovery key was not found on this drive. The drive can't be unlocked." Kindly if anyone has solution, plz help to unlock or remove the bitlocker encryption.
hello .. did you find the solution ? I'm facing same conditions, I did force stop to my laptop while it was decrypting because not possible to continue at that time. now the disk state is "locked".
1. Unlock drive in cmd with help of recovery key(if password not working) 2. If E drive was encripted Copy E drive into other drive suppose D with this command in cmd xcopy /h /i /c /k /e /r /y E: D: When copy completed Use this command manage-bde -off E: After some time you can exit cmd and restart your computer I unlocked my drive with this procedure in my laptop With this procedure.
Hi...what if I've lost my backed up data, including product keys (as well as BitLocker keys)? I got a virus and went to reinstall Windows, which is on a separate drive, but I was in too much of a hurry and when I deleted the Windows disk partitions during install, I accidentally lost track and deleted the main partition of my backup drive. I've been told there's nothing Microsoft can do about my MS Office Key and Windows 10 keys but luckily I found my Windows 10 key...I'm not able to reinstall my Office and I refuse to pay for it so I count that as a loss but my main Windows installed, or attempted to, and I didn't realize I needed to remote the "encryption password" (which I assume is BitLocker) so the install was failed and I am currently using Ubuntu. I don't know how, but Ubuntu reported errors however it's fully installed and running smooth on that same "encrypted" drive. I could pay for your help.
