One of the unusual things about IA is that although he can play in the oddest of time sigs, and pull off amazing solos, he can still write riffs that are so catchy that you could fish for herring with them (without even using a trawler...). And there's always humour in everything!
You can't be serious... I have never seen a band have an official "Tuning" page for EVERY SONG IN THEIR CATALOG on their website........... That is awesome.
Almost 20 years ago, high school, it was a break between classes, my friend came to my clasroom giving me Spanking Hour CD saying "Dude, you have to listen to this shit, it's amazing"... And I was hooked, just like that...
Dear Mattias. I could not take my eyes from your wobbling under arm during your tapping rabbadaj from 2:54 and forwards. I use to listen with phones but today I listened without them. I had to go back for two or three times just to watch the wobble until my brain started to wobble with it. Suddenly my wife entered the room cause of the tapping madness that pierced thru walls of the house and asked wth I was listening to. I sat quietly and just nodded at the screen while you were wobbling away. She looked at the screen for a moment until she uttered: - Ah! So he named the song after the muscle movement?
Awesome! This song rules!!!!! Could you do "Taste My Fist", pleeeeeeease? Love your work for decades now, Mr. Eklundh! Keep Freaky!!!!! Cheers from Brazil.
I think this was the first Freak Kitchen song I heard like 15 years ago, still probably my favourite tune from you guys. I love me a big sing-songy chorus!

Yeeeeees!!! This is how a good day starts :) oh maaan the nostalgia, i remember that i found out about freak kitchen because of a laney. I found speak when spoken to, then nobodies laughing and the jerk. When i hear it i can basically see the video because i watched it soooo often ...good times :)
Mattias took the time to sign my copy of Spanking Hour when I caught him setting up with the band at a show in Manchester, UK about 10 years ago. Top bloke and an incredible musician!
Thankyou IA for writing this song. It helps me laugh about when I was a jerk a decade ago. I could've ended up turning blue myself, I get to sing this song to my past self and be happy.
Think this one might be popular. It was Linus' (Mr Gul) playthrough that taught me C#sus4 and did I feel like an alternate tuning god for a week, lmao! I've gotten much dumber since then (knowing how little I know and the like) but this remains a favourite! Thanks as always.
Love the rock angry faces during your playthroughs....I need the humor....these days with this super hyped up covid fear conjuring....BTW....love the new ( to me ) Troll...and yes the rest of the Album....Well Done guy's
I love this so much, we used to make a cover of this song with one of my firsts bands, it's awesome to see 7 years later how to really play it hahah, that tapping section + the next riff that were removed for the official video was my favourite section to play ♥
Thanks for this Mattias! Are you going to do a playthrough of Speak When Spoken To as well? This was the song that a friend had me listen to and got me into Freak Kitchen, I'd say 17-ish years ago. Always such a blast.
Mattias, PLEASE keep these videos coming! Not only do we get to hear the classics, but we also get to watch you having a good time playing them! Love it! 🙏🏻
Like many others have said, this was my introduction to FK and IA, but a little while after it came out. The 12/8 tapping section always blew me away as just being so cool outlining the chords like that! I guess it's 12/8? Or maybe a 3:4 polyrhythm? Either way, happy to see this. I asked you to show me this section at the 2013 FGK :D
It's 4/4 throughout the entire song, but the tapping section has a triplet feel to it. The tapping rhythm is in 8th note triplets, but there's also a pull-off after each tapped note which makes it 6-tuplets. Definitely a cool way to mess with the feel of the pulse!
Discovering this band had been one of the best things that happened to me in this life. Every record sounds special to me, and I'm in love with the guitar, drums, vocals and bass works in there. Thanks IA
These playthroughs are an absolute treat, Spanking Hour was my first Freak Kitchen CD and still one of my favorites. If only we could get some Freak bass videos, Burning Bridges is a monster of a track and very underrated
awesome video right here but the original music video where Mattias is sitting on a bean bag with a green suit and playing legato licks is still hilarious to me, those facial expressions are just stuck in my mind.
I remember listening to all of your stuff back in high school (Over 15 years ago) and absolutely loving how tight your playing was in every facet, creativity, lead playing, tone, just perfect. much love Mattias, highly underrated brother 🙏

Another pearl from the Guru!!! I've listened to this song hundreds of times...a blast from the past!

This is the song that confirmed Freak Kitchen as one of my favorite bands nearly twenty years ago.
I think that "Kobo, choose a brush" (meaning that a master is not influenced by tools) is exactly this person.
Heroin breakfast or hateful little people next please!!
Damn ! How Comfortable his playing is ! It's a wonderful thing to see classics being live and playthrough
Awesome! This song rules!!!!! Could you do "Taste My Fist", pleeeeeeease? Love your work for decades now, Mr. Eklundh! Keep Freaky!!!!! Cheers from Brazil.

Vi delade replokal i Partille 94-96,så denna låt har man hört ett antal gånger!
Thankssss! Now we have a solo!🤩
Well, it was merely played because it was more composed beforehand. :)
I've accidentally listened to the song at 1.25x speed, it was rad! Happy Friday!
Oh and if you haven’t been told, your vocals are very underrated.
Agreed!
Oh, thank you!
Oh, thank you too! :)
I love all of your beautiful spirals with melodies like these days. I hope you will remember these days again and create new beautiful music.✨☺️✨

Real musicianship is when you can hear who the composer is when he or she plays one note; that has always been the case with MIAEs music.
i love freaky audio lab 👅
nice man thank you for this
I watched this at 666 views, the most metal number 🤟. Love the video as always ❤

IA, you are a fucking legend!
🇧🇷 Gosto dessa, e de todas as outras! 😀🤩
Yes!
I love this guitar sound.
Tell me what did you use for the amp.
Laney irt?
The original is a VH100R Laney beast now overdubbed with the Helix by Line6. 👍
I have vc30 and IRT, but I don't have VH100R, so maybe I should buy it.
Is the point of Mattias’s sound VH100R?
Or Activator pickup?
