Does Tesco sell bags of frozen fruit or veggies? I'm in Canada and our store brands usually do. Defrosting some frozen fruits in the fridge overnight then straining out the water might help with the fresh food cravings. I get frozen berries for my smoothies and will sometimes thaw them and eat them with a spoon when I want fruit but can't be bothered to go to the store.

"Bread stored in the refrigerator will dry out and become stale much faster than bread stored at room temperature. For longer-term storage, you should freeze bread. Soft-crusted, pre-sliced breads will keep fresh for up to a week at room temperature; be sure to keep the original packaging tightly closed after each use" That was just a google away but what I see the general consensus is bread bin or freeze it, never put it in the fridge

That's a rarity. I never see frozen stuff that recommends frying let alone deep frying anymore. I don't think fish fingers or the other type of processed frozen food we used to eat fried as kids list it on the back now, it's all oven baking and the grilling.
I did buy some frozen thin cut fries I noticed in the shop the other week for the purposes of deep frying because I want to see if they turn out like burger chain ones. They recommend oven baking them only. EXCITING STUFF THIS!

You could get a Fray Bentos pie for a pound in Poundland, £2 in Tesco, much more pie for your money than the value ones. I would argue that like the bread, the pie is a case when you should spend a little bit more for quality.

I would say, "how could they mess up chips/fries anyways" but I've had too many bad ones to say that. I mean, hell, you just cut up a potato fry it, and put some salt on it. I don't understand how some places have such terrible ones.

That package of cooked ham would cost at least 6 dollars for the cheap no name brand if I could find one that size. They usually come in a package about 1/4 the size for 3.99.

Realistically you could probably substitute some of the things you've been enjoying from Tesco into your normal shopping habits to lower your food costs.

Now I'm genuinely interested in the cola. I find Coke and Pepsi kinda bland, but really love Fentimens, which I think probably has more natural flavours. So if it's a sugar free drink that tastes like that, I'm in

Store brand bread can be hit-or-miss. Maybe it's fine, maybe it's garbage, maybe it has a short shelf life before it gets rather green. Someplace I used to live had Save-a-lot and their bread would last 3-4 days before it started to become penicillin. I moved a hour away and at the Save-a-lot there the bread was good. So who knows?

I've tried the slightly more expensive tesco cola (perhaps 60p I don't remember) the one with the red label out of curiosity and can say that it's quite nice! not as good as Coca-Cola or Bar's cola but still nice
