LEOLASH you are absolutely correct, if they were fighting in mma, they would be beaten up badly the way they grapple now, but the thing is, they are not fighting MMA

know shit! marcelo is my favorite grappler. i am well aware of his credentials and have had the pleasure of training and rolling with him! bj is vastly underrated because he doesnt compete any more and i think it would be a hell of a match. bj would KILL him in a fight though but that wasnt what we were talking about so that is a different argument.

I don't think every competition in every martial art should be a preparation for a street fight, because most street fights aren't between martial artists. Competition is a way to test skills learned in a controlled enviroment against another Judoka, Jiu-Jitsu guy, w/e. Martial artists have enough maturity, patience, and confidence in their skill to be excellent peacemakers. Also I wish that pro grappling paid more so guys like Lister and Marcelo wouldn't have to go in MMA.
i'm sooooooooo tired of people saying how BJ will beat Garia in graplling, yes BJ won munidals but that's not much compared to Garcia in MMA -yes BJ is likely to PWN Marcelo real bad, but we don't know yet how good will Garcia get.(his old enemy- Jacare is doing really well now.
