When we met, Tom brought his Rc paramotor along and I couldn't help do a video about it because it's the first I'd ever seen!
He made the power pod himself and the (problematic) wing is from old Hobby King.
The conditions were far from perfect as it was really windy out in the open and in the lee it wasn't so much but it was plenty turbulent. Oh well, still great fun to see it fly :)

Before I was old enough to start paragliding, RC paramotors used to be my favorite thing!
Great way to demonstrate lee side rotor.
Nice video!!
Definitely a calm weather craft. "A for Effort" ...
Brilliant! Nice job!!!
Fantastic project fellas! I used to fly a big one :)
I want one of those little flyers! Fun video! LuvLavLiv!!!
Funny seeing you here Tom.
I was like.. Hmmmmm . Wrong channel 1st :-)
I like it!! 3d printer. Wouldnt of thought that. Nice job tom.
Looks so cool!
Fun! I’d like to see a trike or quad next 😀
Torque isn't a big deal on modern designs, just a little weight shift when under full throttle. Since your comfort bars hold the risers farther out from you than a freeflight harness the danger really comes in if you are hitting the motor hard the blade gets more horizontal. A horizontal propeller providing thrust will quickly invoke Newton's Third Law and spin the pilot under the glider. If an inexperienced pilot doesn't get off the throttle in this scenario then they will start providing reverse thrust to a paraglider wing AKA bad things. I think his design could use more weight an inch or two underneath the cage where a pilots legs would be. That would stop it from pitching back and forward as violently.
Nasty rotor behind the treeline. Nice design
So 2 things. 1: You know you want to try indoor :DDD 2. The cells are important it seems. But what a fun project.
I knew tom could do it, he good
Sent you guys some love
Awesome!!
deflection in the paramotor cage to counteract torque steer is pretty dang clever....
Yay! I got into paragliding because of RC aircrafts! BTW loved the field you guys recorded it. Also forward launch is difficult? I always have forward launches when paramotoring, as long as you use the motor to thrust you forward it's way easier than backward launching, which obviously works best for free flight paragliding.
Show de bola hein.
Quite a cool little toy!
I have seen one before, at the Endless Foot Drag, I think it was Jeff Fletcher with "Lone star paramotor "
Fun flying info... remotely.
Would some piano wire on the leading edge work to keep it from collapsing so easily?
Single surface hard to fly in any turbulence. Switch to a double surface to get better results. Now I'll have to get mine out.
YUPPER, this and a PC simulator are two additions I was looking to make to help learn especially the outer envelope, of this sport. Been a fixed wing (powered and glider) RC'r for years, time to take on a flexi!
"That's what we call big ears" LOL...and he wasn't even PULLING them (I hope).
Why don't you fly it in some SKECTHY air??? LOL
What's your flying weight? I'd venture to guess that it's too little for that size wing. I would say it should be around 15-20 lbs., Especially in that wind.
May i ask? How much mass this think able to carry?
I mean - all without wing: body, power, RC, Servo, and payload.
The anti torque fins look like the ones on the full size Scout Paramotor.
Tom has modeled his based on the scout specifically
First of all very set up .
I am also RC pilot n flying since long time ,
I m going to start Para galiding flying ,
Need some information about radio setting.
Can I set , delta wing setting ?
As we used to set for Delta wing plane ??
My wing size 2.5 m and fram 10 inch,
Do we need CG setting for this also ?
What will the CG point if need??
Thanks if u guide
I gotta have one of those!! I'm into rc rock crawlers.....or I WAS
Me: *Watches opening shot*
Me: "BIG EARS!!!"
Other Dude: "That's what we call Big Ears!"
Me: "Dammit! He beat me to it!"
Nice!
seems to be too windy but it looks great
to less weight for the canopy, the canopy will fold in flight an get instable if ther is to little weight on the passenger
Fly above the dirty air.
How much this will gonna cost if I wanna buy 🤔 plz let me know ASAP
Too much rotor coming from the tree line I think! You should check my latest video to see what these wings are capable of!
There are some really expensive versions available with double skin wings etc. Its actually cheaper to buy a Chinese race kite and adapt it
do you have plans or something?
Speed Bar? Need an extra control to get the pulleys rammed together!
It's awesome
I want one!!
Leading edge terlalu menunduk jadi membuat parasut mudah terlipat, coba line A diperpanjang mungki akan lebih enak terbangnya
Needs a seven 7 cell "sguare" ram air airfoil, not a highly unstable elliptical one
Merry Christmas!
merry xmas!
Last summer there was one of these flying at the field where I was training to fly PPG. At first I thought it was somebody who got there early and was at a pretty high altitude. Then I realized what I was looking at. Other students arrived and thought the same thing. Then we all flew while this R/C PPG was flying. Kinda cool juxtaposition.
Looks like the battery needs to be vertical where the legs would be for less tippy action. Your legs wouldn't ordinarily be that heavy.
I want to buy one. Where did you get it
Hobbyking
How did you sneak into this video Tom Stanton lol
Nice video yea adjust your breaks it’s collapsing too easily
Hola, hay mucho viento, por ello se pliega la vela, tambien es necesario configurar los tiros de las hobby king. Yo tengo una y me costo mucho calibrarla. Compra una Hacker y veras la diferencia!!!.
como la calibraste?
You need a bigger wing and pilot. The size ratio isn’t right for wind gusts and it will crash a lot.
I have a Black Hawk and Fresh Breeze: Last summer I 3D printed 4 RC paramotors, maybe I'll try launching my babies, but not in such wild wind conditions.
Great
Dell will be here soon telling you about that dangerous piece of s*** lol
What a small world
More weight needed by the looks of it :)
I want to make this in real life so I can jump out of my own paramotor(skydive) and have it self land in a field somewhere. One day :)
Success starts at 4:25 . Thanks me now! Haha Just kidding
👍👍👍
what it's BANDARRA?
BANDARRA in indonesian means airport..
The tips are flying at too low an AoA...
If Tom ever fancies trying paramotoring, send him over to my channel - I've been paramotoring for 12 years and following Tom for the last year or so too. be happy to show him the ropes/lines :-)
Your canopy rope is very short...its common mistake....
For about 10 month I own a CA 2.8 produced by the guys from punkair. Maybe you wanna try out THE real staff. Yes they are not cheep but it is real sports equipment. I would recommend a sir Edmund race in your case with the weight you mentioned. You will definitely not be disappointed. I really like the paras they produce.
Maybe you can also try to add a speeder to your para set by using a servo to pull down just the A-lines, depending on the para if it works nicely but you could give it a try.

I have 1!
What's it like?
@@AndreBandarra1 well... lets just say.... it didnt fly and we will try tmr when it is less windy. I live in australia. Lol. From your biggest fan.
@@AndreBandarra1 if you are wondering, i got it from hobbyking. It is called the h-king high performance paramotor PNF.
lots more weight needed
Put more weight on, I found 2-3kg is good. I fly one at 2.2kg and one at 2.9kg and they handle wind fine, the third is 1.2kg and does not like wind at all but very acrobatic in calm weather
Cool, I have 3 ones, they were made in Sol Paragliders Brazil, so in my channel has a video tanden flyght rc, Cristiano Aparecido, God bless!!!
Lol
You need a lesson in tossing
dude maybe you just need a bit more weight
