I've got a rover 60 paired with a rippin lips 8' heavy rod and it's my favorite combo for catfishing, awesome reels in my opinion, I've been looking at the piscifun chaos 60's as well they look legit and reasonably priced like the rovers
I love KK, but I am not convinced with these round reels yet. I have a box full of junk ones from the same manufacturer. Brand names aside these are from the same factory as Yangs. I'd never pay for one again unless I used it first, I've been burnt a few times over these. I know they are an improvement over years past, but that buyers remorse thing still stings lol. Great vid Kevin!! This is a great company, love the products and service, it's just this one reel, we have history 😉
Hello, every throw of the barad. gets tangled catastrophically, threw the braid 3 times. why is this happening? please help, i bought it on amazon for $55 how to stick neodymium magnets on a multiplier CastKingRover 50? i have neodymium magnets but are they big? Didn't understand
I have 2 but haven’t even used them, gonna try and destroy them on some bull reds and Bull sharks in a couple of months. Glad to see they will hold up,we will see if the Texas Coast can destroy them 😜🎣🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟
My rover anti reverse has gone out I believe. When I tighten the drag the handle spins backwards when I pull line out to test. Dont know how I can fight a fish with the handle spinning.
I bought a rover 60 0ff Amazon 2 weeks ago and I absolutely love it except for the drag, I can tighten it as tight as it goes and can still pull the drag fairly easy. I was just wondering if you some suggestions as to what I could do to improve the drag.
hoptag nope there really is at a cast control knob. The knob moves the spool (closest to drag) and the knob you are referring to is a line memory dial. - if we understand correctly.
I have a rover90 that I bought for sturgeon last year. I catch several hundred sturgeon every year so I put the reel through a hard test. Unfortunately it did not pass. Something’s wrong with the drag. The handle spins backwards as drag as being pulled out. And the retrieve feels rough. I’m working with Kastking to replace it. I sure hope the second one is better than the first or I’ll be done with Kastking
The tension knob on the handle side is for centering the spool, the clicker side tension is for setting for spool tension/backlash control. When setting up the reel I will loosen the clicker side, then center the spool with the reel side, go back and set the clicker side tension. You're good to go.
I have to disagree with you about loosening the drag after each trip. Now, that used to work with felt and steel washer stack type drags, because they did not have the stiffness of carbon fiber disks, and would eventually make your steel washers slightly convex on the drag stack side of the reel. This results in decreased surface area contact in the drag stack, and thus, reduced drag power.. With carbon fiber disk drags, the disks are a lot stiffer. Which lets you put more pressure on them with drag star. This is why they have more drag power. But, like your reference to brakes on a car, they do still wear from friction when they rub against each other. This results in a loss of drag power, because as they wear, they get thinner. And therefore, not as rigid as they once were. It will make your drag feel smoother the more it wears, but the trade-off is that you do lose some power. Loosening your drag after each trip is unnecessary with carbon fiber drags because like I said before, the disks are stiffer, and the steel washers do not get "dished out" like the felt and steel stacks do. When I get a new reel, the first thing I do is take it apart and remove all of the factory grease and oil with a rag, Q-tip, and alcohol. Then I polish all contact areas. I then soak my drag disks in Quantum Hot Sauce overnight, and then reassemble, and lube the reel with the Quantum Hot Sauce. Soaking the disks in the oil overnight, greatly improves the smoothness of the drag when fighting fish, and also extends the life of your drag.
Thank you. I love your products. I own a lot of them. They are a great value. Great prices, and great performance. You keep it up, and I'll keep buying them.
Interesting, thanks for the feedback! I'll have to do more research on this. From personal experience I have always been told to give my drag a break when done. This was even with carbon fiber drag systems. Glad you're enjoying the products!

Love it, I'm getting me a 40 or 50.
Awesome!!!
I guess I should have gotten the 60 with the power handle....after only having mine 2 months, both foam grips popped off mine while fighting fish...
Same as mine..just using for the first time..the foam grips popped off...

Other than amazon can you get these reels in the store thanks 🐟
Do you prefer braid with it? Or big game trilene mono?

Hi there. Have you contacted customer service?
I was gonna buy an Abu Ambassadeur, but i may buy 2 of these now...
That's the beauty in the affordability. Thanks for watching!
Great video catterman.
Lonnie
Thank you Lonnie!
The internal look a lot like the 6600. Abu series.
Nice spot good fishing
Thank you for watching

Hmmm we can look into that!

I have a 60r that doesn’t lock in when you reel. It also has no drag. Anyone know my problem? Thank you
Will the handle off a 60 fit a 40?
where did you purchase the power handle for this reel ???
I have a left handed model 40 and was wondering if the cast control knob is opposite of the reel handle?
hoptag nope there really is at a cast control knob. The knob moves the spool (closest to drag) and the knob you are referring to is a line memory dial. - if we understand correctly.
Same as ming yang ..decent reel if not abused .
Is it normal for the the numbers around the drag dial to freely spin? I'm assuming not?
Hi Austin, it's normal, the drag knob is a tension knob for controling the tension of the spool.
I’m working with Kastking to replace it. are parts avaible
If you don't mess with one knob, why is it on there? Just an honest question. It looks like a power house of a reel.
The tension knob on the handle side is for centering the spool, the clicker side tension is for setting for spool tension/backlash control. When setting up the reel I will loosen the clicker side, then center the spool with the reel side, go back and set the clicker side tension. You're good to go.
i have been thinking about getting one for catfish what kind of rod did you get for it
Check out the KastKat or KatTech rods :) - amzn.to/2K0qD81 or amzn.to/2tuL5mf
Did they offer the power handle??
Hi there. Yes they do
I probably missed it in the video, but what size is that reel?
Looks like a 50 or 60 size from the thumbnail.
Is this reel hard to work on thanks 😊
Hi there. It’s the same as any. Not very hard, no
where to buy spare carbon fiber disks brakes for rover?
Hi there! Please contact customer service at service@eposeidon.com
I contacted kastking, they dont offer the drag washers, i was told to send back for repairs.
@@TurboRanger351 That's the problem with these reels...no parts.
Where did you get the power handle?
They are available on bigger sizes.
KastKing but where would you find one to put on the Rover60? Buy a Rover70, take the handle of and throw away the reel?
Probably an abu handle would fit.
I have to disagree with you about loosening the drag after each trip. Now, that used to work with felt and steel washer stack type drags, because they did not have the stiffness of carbon fiber disks, and would eventually make your steel washers slightly convex on the drag stack side of the reel. He's talking about the curved spring washers not being always compressed that makes the drag last longer, not the actual drag washers.
Den Smith I don't think you have a full understanding of the mechanics of how the drag in a baitcasting reel works.
Good mehanic
Thanks!
Man hate those c clips
Thanks for tuning in
Drum fish. They get over 100 pounds that would be a good test for that real
I will be targeting those in the Delaware bay in the Spring. Stay tuned!
Really not that bad
Thank you
That is a copy of garcia design.
brake pegs are useless. once you learn how to cast...
Thank you for tuning in
