I cross shopped both of these, including the RX350. The Velar was voted out 1st. They ruined the interior. What were they thinking? The Grecale won hands down. Such a nice driving vehicle. Beautiful, we love it.
Maybe one day you can do a review on which luxury vehicle depreciates more so all the peasants can crow about how much better their basic cx5 and ford escapes are. Rich people dont give a flying fadoo when they lease these things against their businesses or keep their wives happy in lux SUVs. But yes people keep commenting on depreciation for the folks way there in the back. Good review Sam. These vehicles look great.
Don't worry, Sam and his butt buddy S8er are the same person, and he's being paid to promote these depreciating, constantly at the dealership, clown cars.
Honestly, when I look for an SUV - the last things I think about are how SUV sounds or how fast it accelerating to 60mph. Ideally - I would like an SUV, that has no sounds, so I don't need to wake up the entrie neighborhood and the family. Regarding acceleration - in 12 years of driving experience I can't remember a single time when I needed to accelerate from 0 to 60. I had a few situations on the highway, when I had to accelerate from 70mph to 100mph to avoid the crash with the truck, who pulled in the lane without looking the mirrors. Would be very nice to see in the next reviews - how many suitcases you can put into SUV, how easy to park it and get off the car without acrobatic movements. The cars under 100,000$ price are not that luxury, to call them luxury. And most of the people would by such SUVs for the comfort everyday ride and occasional vacation tours.
I’d say if you’re looking to buy new, get the Velar. Otherwise lease or buy the Grecale preowned certified. Just to hopefully absorb the depreciation hit a little
You know alfa romeo was considering a stelvio long wheelbase at some point back in 2018, then they didn't produce the model, but the platform was just used for the grecale.
For sure, i own a 2011 MDX- SH AWD and all i do is basic maintenance. My car has 115k miles and i hope i can get to 180k. Acura MdX made in Japan back in 2011, a totally different experience than what you buy today.

So i have tk say the Maserati seems more sporty and on white is a winner all day long. Grecale wins this one
Excellent videography as a side note
Maserati Grecale !!!
I’m deciding between Velar and Grecale. After watching this review, I’m settled for Velar. Thanks for this great side by side comparison!
0-60 is 5.0 seconds for the Modena. The GT is 5.3 seconds 0-60.
let's not joke, always and only Maserati 😎🧡🔝🔝
What would you say is a fair purchase for a 2023 Trofeo (loaded) 3500 km from the dealer ?
grecale is beautiful, but the push button gear selection is a no go
Forza Maserati 💪🇮🇹💓💯👍

i am cross shopping now thanks for making it easier !
Maserati Molto bene ♥️
Tough choice on which will break down first maybe
a typical expression for spiritual victory of a jealous and poor guy
its a tough call but i'll go with the Velar

I do not now if a 8mm increase is a long wheel base...
Love both but the velar is just too beautiful. Buying one in the summer can’t wait 😊
It really is!
Velar all day long. 🎉
Tough Choice is a great title for either of these SUV's. 😂
Easy choice if you factor in reliability, built quality, and crash test results and why I still choose Honda products.
?! Crash test...Honda?

If you want basic...ok, basic. But if you care crash test, Volvo is the way, or Saab.
@ricardoalexandre9582 Saab doesn't exist anymore....yet, and Volvo is awesome but reliability issues more than Toyota and Honda

great review
Your mechanic will be super happy either way.
